Private Starscapes (flashback)

There were places Zesiro needed to be and places she wanted to be. Being in space on this starship wasn't one of them. Everything was in the line of duty, though, and this was something the woman was learning. With a mental sigh, she calmly walked behind one of the troopers who was escorting her to see the commander of this ship.

Totally eyeballing the backside of the trooper, she could imagine what was under the armor. Luckily...or not, her reputation hadn't reached the men in this command here. That was something she would have to work on. Zesiro was trying to decide if she wanted to keep her reputation growing or if she should tone it down and start thinking about settling down. Did it matter? She decided it didn't and continued daydreaming about what might be under that uniform.

All too soon, that dream had to come to an end, and they were standing outside of the captain's ready room. Whatever that was. Keeping her mouth shut, she had no idea what one of those was but would soon learn. On the thought of learning, she wondered what these people would teach her. Maybe how to become a better spy than she already was or how to fight differently? Time would tell, and her anticipation grew. Hopefully, this Pellian person would have more knowledge than she did.

The trooper knocked on the door and waited for a voice to tell them to enter. He opened the door for her and motioned for her to enter.

Finding out his ship co-opted by Imperial Intelligence was not what Shan had expected to wake up to this morning. The message had been there in his data que, nestled in among dreary status reports from the night shift and naval movements from other Empire of the Lost ships in the region. The sigil of Imperial Intelligence had been a more effective wake up than his morning caf ever was. He had verified the information within, but there was no getting around it.

He was rereading the message and the instructions held within when the soldier knocked at his door. Controlling the irritation threatening to bubble out past his well disciplined reserve, he put the data pad down on the desk, the largest piece of furniture in the entire room besides a single bookshelf behind Shan.

Rising to his feet, Shan folded his hands behind his back, and prepared himself for what he expected to be a very frustrating few days.

"Enter."

When the command to enter was given, the trooper opened the door for Zesiro and hurried away. He did NOT want to get caught in the upcoming crossfire he knew was coming. Even the flirtatious look she gave to his backside was lost in the exchange. Letting out an unsatisfied humph, the blond walked into the room before her.

Her blue eyes noticed the sparseness of it, and her eyebrows came together slightly. The grey decor matched the grey of the atmosphere, and the woman just didn't think there would be a way she could improve it. That wasn't why she was here, though, and she focused on the reason she was here: training for a future mission that she didn't know what it was yet.

If the man inside noticed how she moved, it was clear she was more used to using her body. It spoke volumes, and she wore a dark, form-fitting pseudo-military uniform. While it was close to something an officer might wear, she was far from one of them.

Meeting his gaze, she stopped about a foot from his desk. Noticing there was not a chair or couch to sit on, she knew better than to take over his chair. Reading his expression, Zesiro could tell he wasn't happy she was here. Maybe she could work some of her magic on him...

"Captain Pellian, thank you for your hospitality. I hope we can reach some sort of working agreement."

Trying to keep things professional did not last very long for her, and as she finished, she gave him a relatively tame smile. Her eyes said something else entirely, and she was already wondering if she could get this man to relax and how to do that. Reaching into a pocket in her pants, she attempted to hand him a piece of paper.

"On that is further instructions from my master."
