Intent: To add an advanced technological flavour to ASA vehicles. These drones aren’t intended to be groundbreaking or provide a significant advantage, merely to add some flavour!

Description: This is a modular drone system designed to add flexibility to starships. Each pod contains a bay holding one type of drone. When required, each drone is launcher from its bay and will “orbit” around the ship, using a field generator to remain in close proximity. Without this, the drone would not be able to keep up with an accelerating Starfighter.
After launch each drone will start to fulfil its purpose. Repair drones have a very similar function to an astromech designed for in-flight repairs. They will orbit the ship, staying close to the surface of its parent vessel. They will scan for battle damage, feeding back sensory information to the parent ship. When required they will close on any damaged components and attempt repair. This is typically limited to detaching or reattaching modular components, sealing small breaches and electrical system repair.
A blaster drone orbits its parent ship and relies on the parent ship’s scanners for targeting information. They are small and spherical, so are able to turn very quickly on the spot. Each drone has a single repeating blaster and will attempt to shoot down any incoming missiles. When above the ground, these drones are able to function as a light anti-infantry turret.
The sensor drone is able to move around the ship and aim its sensors in the direction required by the parent vessel. This allows increased sensory information to be garnered from the angle faced by the drone. This flexibility allows a parent vessel to redeploy sensory equipment for an enhanced scan to different lines of sight.
The drones are not heavily armoured. Impacts against a parent ship's hull and create debris are liable to destroy any nearby drones.
OOC/ These are not intended to add a great deal of benefit and rough analogues of each droid are provided below. Instead they’re about adding a techno flavour to our vehicles. More drones may be added at a later date, and development threads done for any that add significant capability.
Repair Drones: Equivalent to astromechs
Blaster Drone: Equivalent to anti-missile defences (chaff etc), but able to act as blaster turret on ground
Sensor Drone: Equivalent to Advanced Sensor Array (One arc at a time)
