Status of the defunct Lore Section: Still Board Canon?

Well-Known Member
So, this dilemma I observed got brought up in the One Sith forum regarding their speed dominion of Aeten II in order to beat the Mandalorians to the punch and get a world with Stygium out of the deal... only to be reminded by [member="Juro Tanaka"] that a while back when the Lore Section was a thing, Jon made a submission regarding the status of Stygium in the Aeten II system that had historically been obliterated by the empire for the purpose of mining, but then reconstructed via Chaos Timeline. The Submission being approved, settled that the Stygium present in the system was approximately 99.9% depleted, and virtually only accessible by the Mandalorians who controlled it at the time.

Then the Lore Section was Archived.

Does this mean that this previously approved submission is no longer a valid and viable source of confirmed and approved information?

After all, the Archive is where everything goes to die.

Thoughts?

This is why I somewhat dislike submission things like this because it allows individuals too much power to control situations. Even if a submission is reasonable it still is a bit much to have the submission of a single individual influence an entire planet's state of being. Just not a fan. /shrugs

Similarly, I remember reading about a pair of planets that I believe the Primeval took or something from the Mandalorians and then they instituted NPC leaders which are mandalorians of that planet. Admittedly, have not read into the entire situation there, but still at face value I went hm... that's kind of lame that another faction can just invent a Mandalorian subfaction to be loyal to them on planets they took from the Mandalorians. Now if they had a decent segment of Mandalorians within their faction (a la a death watch kind of thing) then it is a different situation but meh. Again, I am operating on what I assume is incomplete information on this matter, but at a glance it just seems lame and I suspect it might be just as lame as when I look at it.

This is not to say anything negative about the Prime at all. Other factions have done similar things as have other individuals. This was just an example that came to mind. It is the kind of stuff that I dislike about places like the codex.

[member="Selena Halcyon"] That NPC you have in question was created by me, which was a loyal member of a splinter group of Mandalorians within the Primeval that died out some time ago. Rather than leave it as a footnote, I created a character I don't have time to play as and instituted him as the Warlord as a form of some strange revenge against the Mandalorians, to have a form of closure on the subject of the ill-thought out sub-faction that didn't go anywhere.

Though I get where you're coming from, that particular instance doesn't really apply here.

What I'm talking about, is what happens when approved submissions gets archived with a whole section of our creative outlet in the Codex? Are they valid or invalid?

The answer is no. If the planet is listed for stygium under the restricted items list, the restricted items list by the Staff Team takes precedence.

No player submission nor action can rebuke this unless the list is changed.

[member="Tefka"], Thanks for settling that so quickly! :)

[member="Selena Halcyon"] I almost forgot to mention, the other NPC on Echoy'la, she isn't loyal to the Primeval, just using them to protect her people. They're all justified! :p

[member="Fatty"] Meh, I just view it as lame. As you said it was a failed attempt at something, why should a failure get to linger around in some form?

Well as the creator, I'm naturally biased for them, as I don't see it that way. You're entitled to your opinion, but I guess this thread has pretty much served it purpose now!

All I know is that the dominion shotgunning is only going on because it's Aeten II. I don't agree with it, I think it's silly, and since the Mandalorians posted up a thread first (I think it was first?) and weren't even shotgunning that, I can only help but support that one instead of the other. Which reminds me... I should be posting instead of playing LoL....

Anyways, TLDR: #Stygium.
