One of the many Floating Cities
Metellos First World Bank
After Netherworld
It was nearing the end of the day when the last customers of Metellos World Bank had their final call to leave before shutdown. The lowly employees did not belong on the floating cities of Metellos, their houses being down on the surfaces slums. They had shuttles to catch, and so they were eager for the work to end. Little did they know, other plans were in store. Just around the corner, under the cover of shadows stood what at first sight would seem like a group of four mercenaries, hanging around awaiting their next job. The truth was, they were currently undertaking their mission. In each of their ears was the small comm piece their client had given them through a secret package which had also contained various clown masks. The masks were in the bags that hung over their shoulder and rested by their waists, hidden from sight for now.Meantime on the roof, a small green creature was tinkering with the building’s ventilation system. It was nothing technical, only a gas canister being linked into it to fill the bank with something different. Pressing her ear with her spare hand to activate the comms, she spoke to the mercenaries. “30 seconds.” At that moment she turned the valve on the canister, releasing the knockout gas into the building. Leaving the canister to do it’s work, the Yodaling lept down to the ground beside the men, giving them a small fright. Her head gestured forward, keeping them on task.
Inside the bank, the remaining customers and workers felt rather drowsy. A few noticed the discoloured gas coming from the vents, but only slurred speech came from them, before they fell to the ground unconscious. With the people inside asleep, the gas quickly began to dissipate as it was engineered to. By the time the masked men came in, the air was clear once again, however the civilians were no more awake than before. The men ran in with their rifles aimed up, quickly and efficiently placing blaster shots up at the cameras before they could get a good look at what was happening. Once the shots were fired, their timer began. They had to finish their job before anyone came to stop them, or the civilians woke up.
Behind them came Valtryx, examining their work. She was only here to make sure their work was not interrupted, and so she waited in the lobby, watching the door.
