Stick 'Em Up

Vaynai's Orbit
Aboard a Omega-class Freighter

Where there were those who were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, those who, wit a quick snap of their fingers, get whatever they please handed to them, there were those who had to work for what they wanted. Those people who spent blood, sweat, and tears to just get by. Then there were those people in between the two. Those who put everything they had on the line to get what they couldn't by normal means. The thieves, hustlers, and criminals of the galaxy's underworld. They looked no different than your average Joe. Well, in most cases they didn't. They could be your neighbor, your mailman, or your personal trainer. Sometimes, desperate times calls for desperate measures.

This was not one of those times.

In fact, this was one of the times where someone just wanted something that someone else had. This is what brought this heist crew together on this day.

Janu Molvoy, a Devaronian contacted for his expertise with explosives, Moona, a Twilek brought in after Djonas heard word of her hacking skills, and an [member="Orsolya Saris"], a young girl Djonas brought in to mentor. He could see a spark within her that he would nurture into a roaring flame.

The crew gathered in the cockpit to discuss the plan. They took their seats around Djonas, but Orsolya was missing. "It's almost time to act. Where's your pet Vile?" The devaronian hissed.

"Patience, Janu. She'll be here. We ain't starting until she is." Djonas replied.

"Hey, I'm nobody's pet!"

The sound of Orsolya's almost snippy tone cut through the air of the cockpit like a finely-crafted blade. She hadn't meant to be late, well, not really, but those arms didn't tune themselves. Those cold, android eyes quickly swept over everyone in the cockpit, landing briefly on Djonas and she offered a cocky, sorry-not-sorry smile to justify her absence to him, "Really though, I'm here now, so eeeeveryone can relax."

It wasn't as though the rag-tag crew had actually been holding its breath for her arrival, but all the same, she acted like the galaxy itself had stopped to wait and see if she'd show up. Taking the empty seat near her new mentor, her prosthetics clicked slightly as she adjusted into a crossed-arms position, waiting for the rundown on what exactly they'd be doing. The trepidation and thrill was clear on her face now. Eyes wandering back over the other faces of the crew, particularly the Devaronian with brief, obscured distaste.

Djonas sighed at Orsolya when she walked in a little later than planned, but he couldn't really blame her. She was still young and learning. He thought nothing of it and went on with the briefing. "Now that were all here. We can begin." Djonas waved his hand over the holographic projector in the middle of the table, thus activating it and unveiling the holographic projection of a mansion on one of Vaynai's many islands.

"This is Casa del Morun, home of Pelik Morun." A suave-looking Rodian appeared as Djonas mentioned Pelik. "A former accountant turned con artist, Pelik has made a fortune after caring for multi billionaires money through schemes and underhanded tricks. That's where we come in." Djonas waved his hand over the hologram again, sliding the image of the house away and revealing a massive vault. "This is where Pelik keeps all his fortune and worldly possessions. We're gonna take it all." A flick of Djonas' wrist and the interior of the 2 story mansion appeared.

"Pelik is hosting a dinner tonight celebrating a big deal he made with some folk calling themselves the Cabal. I've managed to acquire invitations for us all. Once we're in, we execute the plan. Janu, you'll begin rigging explosives throughout the mansion to serve as a distraction for when we make our move. Orsolya will keep the man of the hour preoccupied while I handle security. Moona, when I give you the signal, you'll make your way into the basement and to the vault and crack it open. There's some heavy security in place down there, but I'll handle it. Once it's open, I will trigger the fire deterrence system from the security office. That will cause everyone inside to head outside while we start grabbing the goods. Pelik was dumb enough to choose a very remote island as his place of residence so it'll be some time before the fire department shows up. I estimate it taking 10 minutes or so. If we're lucky. Any questions?"

Orsolya listened with a surprising amount of patience as Djonas explained the plan, perking up in her seat as her own name was mentioned. A smug grin bloomed as he described her part, nodding her head a few times in deep thought as she considered it. With such a... Magnetic personality, distraction should be easy for her. This wouldn't be her first party. Unlikely to be her last, either, something about a heist and a get-together just goes together like sabacc and fine liquor. Steepling her fingers, she glanced to the rest of crew; no questions from herself. Somehow she'd come to implicitly trust Djonas, at least having enough to faith to know he wouldn't be throwing her to the wolves alone.

She was too busy daydreaming about how wonderful it'd be to see Morun's face after they robbed him for everything he was worth. Those artificial eyes looked back over to the crew, sweeping over their expressions, gauging their own reactions to their parts and target. Then they flicked up to Djonas, expectantly.

Djonas looked about at the crew's faces for any objection. "Well, if there's no questions..Dova, take us down." Djonas' little sister nodded slightly as she pushed brought the freighter down into the planet's atmosphere. "Your gear will be in your quarters. I had special suits and dresses made for us that are capable of concealing our gear and weapons to get us past security. Suit up." Djonas peered over to Orsolya. "Come with me. I have something special for you to help with your job." Djonas walked off the bridge behind the Twilek and took a right turn, towards his quarters.

Once Djonas made it to the door, he looked back to see if Orsolya was behind him. Once she was, he pressed the panel adjacent to his room's door and the door slid open. He stepped inside and walked over to his closet. "I didn't have your measurements so I had to kind of eyeball it. The girl who worked at the shop was about your size and was happy yo try it on and it fit her fine. Here." Djonas pulled out a dress, protected by plastic and on a hanger, and held it out for Orsolya to take. "Pelik has a thing for a pretty woman in red so this should most definitely keep his attention. What do you think?"

"Red's always been my colour." Orsolya mused with a grin, giving the outfit a quick once-over before her metallic fingers closed around the hanger, taking it from Djonas carefully as to ensure nothing was crinkled or disturbed -- It was too late to hit up a dry cleaner's, after all. Nodding her head a few times with that same bedevilled smirk, she added, "I'll make it work. Pelik won't know what hit him." Turning to leave his quarters and enter her own, so began the struggle of fitting into a designer gown.

Well, that was overdramatic; it wasn't that hard to squeeze into, and he had been right in his guesswork for her measurements, the dress fit fine except for a few areas where it felt a little off. But it wasn't wholly noticeable and she was more focused on making sure the fabric played nice with the various grooves of her arms, ensuring nothing snagged or got caught in the metal and circuitry. It was, by all accounts, a ravishing outfit. One, she hoped, would give her an edge for her part. Jobs like these opened doorways, after all...

Tying her bedraggled brown curls back into an updo was probably the hardest part of her look. Her untamable hair was often un-cooperative when it was in this state, and she was certainly fighting to get it look passable. Scowling briefly at her own reflection in the small mirror installed in her quarters, Orsolya finally slid a long silver pin into place that would hold her hair together. Of course, the pin was unreasonably sharp and could double as a makeshift weapon in the case of an emergency, but for now, it would do as a simple accessory.

Ready as I'll ever be, she thought as her cybernetic eyes locked gazes with her reflection, pouting briefly at herself. Ever the child at heart.

Once Orsolya walked out, Djonas prepared.

He slipped out of his usual digs and put on his black tuxedo. He ensured everything looked perfect for he needed his guise to be the best he could get it. "Damn, I make this look good." Djonas mused as he looked into the mirror. "It's showtime." Djonas slid his pistols into his suit and activated the cloaking devices within it and left his room. He brought his watch up to his mouth to speak into the communicator built in. "Is everyone ready to go?" he asked.

"Good to go, boss." Moona replied.

"Ready and waiting." Janu replied.

Djonas awaited Orsolya's reply before continuing. "Alright. Dova, bring us in." The freighter descended to the ground just outside of the mansion. "From this point on, only first initials. We don't need anyone tracing this back to us. Got it?"

"Got it, D." Janu replied.

The four would step off of the freighter and look upon the massive mansion belonging to Pelik Morun. "O, with me. J and M stick close but not too close." Djonas commanded. He then took hold of Orsolya's arm and gently guided her to the front door where security waited. "Evening, gentlemen. Our invitations. Honey, don't kill me but I believe I forgot them back home." Djonas reached into his jacket and pulled out 2 invitations for the guards. They took hold of them as a droid scanned Djonas and Orsolya for weapons. "They're clear." one guard said. "Enjoy the party."

Djonas led Orsolya into the mansion where the party was just getting started. There were guests from all parts of the galaxy there, dressed to impress. "Remember your mission, O. We'll make it out of here with our pockets bursting with credits. Go get 'im." Djonas egged her on, releasing her arm as he split off to search for the security room.

Her confirmation was short and to the point, hardly missing a beat in replying after the two, "Born ready."

But she remained oddly quiet and in deep thought as they landed, disembarked and headed in. Though, she did muster up a sardonic smile at Djonas' statement before producing their invitations, humming out a, "Always a jokester, honey..." To keep their facade in check for the guards. Letting out a brief exhale as they got through without any harassment, Orsolya nodded to him as he disconnected from her and left to do his part. Letting out a bit of a shaky exhale, the young Themian hybrid set out to catch her prey.

Working her way slowly through the party -- She paused at the bar to procure a drink, a martini with a name she couldn't pronounce but tasted delightfully expensive -- her robotic eyes began to search the crowds. Searching for her target and planning a way to get in and approach him without being too obvious about it. There. She spotted the Rodian easily, he stood out among the crowds, and she swallowed any trepidation she might have had with a gulp of alcohol.

So the striking woman in red swayed her way over to his location, a winning smile on her face as her cybernetic fingers held her glass with a dainty grip, fully intending to captivate her poor target.

Djonas looked back to make sure Orsolya was on the move before he made his own move. He looked about the crowd, trying to get a bead on at least one of the security personnel. If they were there, they were hidden well. Then, a rather large man slid past Djonas and, with a quick, blink and you'll miss it, glance, Djonas managed to spot a gun strapped to the man's side. He had to have been security. No way he'd get a weapon through security that easily. "I've spotted security. Gonna see if I can get into the security room through this guy. J, how's the party favors coming along?"

In another section of the house, Janu was occupied setting up the explosives in discreet locations. "About halfway done here, D. This..this just might be my masterpiece." Janu replied.

"D, J is being over dramatic again." Moona added.

"I hear him, M. Are you ready to do your thing?" Djonas asked.

"Of course." Moona replied joyfully.

"Always the eager one, M. I see Orsolya is moving in to grab the man of the night's attention. I'm on the move." Djonas followed close behind the security guard all the way to a long empty hallway. Djonas hung back to watch from around the corner. By peeking around, he spotted the guard standing at what appeared to be a normal wall. After a few moments, a hidden door opened up and the guard stepped inside. The door promptly shut behind the guard, returning to the illusion of a wall.

Djonas peered around, ensuring no one was near. Once he realized the coast was clear, he swiftly moved up to the wall. "Gotta be some hidden keypad or something.." he muttered to himself. He started feeling around, searching for a hidden button or switch or something. And then, the door opened back up, with the large guard standing on the other side. "Oh, chit." Djonas gasped. "Sorry, man. I thought this was the bathroom!" Djonas jested but quickly followed with a force enhanced punch to the man's jaw, knocking him out instantly. "Damn, man. Are you made out of durasteel?" Djonas moved to the inside of the security room and dragged the unconscious guard in with him, closing the door after they were in. "Alright, I'm in the security room now. M, get down to the vault. I got eyes on the entire place. I got eyes on you, O. You're doing good. Keep it up and we'll be out of here in no time."

The chatter over the mics kept her pleasantly entertained as she listened to the man of the hour drone on about something, possibly... Hovercars? She wasn't sure anymore, but she offered the Rodian a pleasant smile after he concluded his little speech to her, doubtlessly about which model was his favourite or which one out of his fleet of personal vehicles had the spiffiest paint job. Why must all rich people be unbelievably pompous? It was a question that would never be answered. Suppressing a roll of her eyes, Orsolya knocked back another drink offered to her by Pelik. Anything to dull the senses right now.

Upon hearing that last line over their line she managed to awkwardly mutter out a reply whilst she covered her mouth with her glass, her voice low and riddled with both irritation and anxiety, "For the record, I'm doing great. If he brings up his pets next I'm going to shove this martini glass down his little Rodian throat. Keep me in the loop." Mustering up a much more provocative smile to reassure her captivated target that all was well, she allowed herself to be drawn into another round of meaningless banter in the hopes of buying more time for the rest of the team. So far, it was working; perhaps at the cost of some valuable sanity.

Djonas flicked through the camera feeds, attempting to get as much information as he could from the cameras. "I may have found our way out." Djonas came across the feed of what appear to be an underground bunker. "It seems Pelik has a bunker built beneath the island. In it, he has a submarine which is probably what he'd use should he need a quick escape from his home." Djonas relayed through the comms.

"So once I blow this joint, we get the goods down to the bunker and speed on outta here." J responded.

"Bingo. M, how's that vault coming?"

"Few moments away from cracking this golden egg open, boss." J replied.

"O, when I give the signal, leave your boy toy to the masses and meet me and J at the vault. J, I'll be there shortly. Just a few..knots I've got to tighten up." Djonas looked through a few more feeds and stopped on another. It was the camera overlooking Pelik's master bedroom. "There you are.." Djonas uttered beneath his breath. He turned and left the security room, leaving the guard on the ground, unconscious.
