Baifa Monü Zhuan
"Look well at the emperors battle, child! Genji cut himself open, shed his own blood… and chose to fight for his life. Giving up kills people. When people reject giving up… they finally win the right to transcend humanity. "Never give up, even if it means death"… that is the pride and dignity of our emperor."

Quia was born to one of the older Atrisian houses and distinguished herself among her brothers and sisters. Her father and mother having a large family to progress through political influences. Even though her father and mother were political animals and savage about status and placing... she was not instead preferring to fight and battle against others. She disappeared as far as they knew... sneaking off when she was being sent and bandits were blamed. In truth she fled to the capital of Jar'Kai and joined the military lying about her age and name but was recognized by her brother who was in the city. Fearful she begged him and he only agreed because he was bored in many ways... his bride wasn't bad but she was dull witted and cared little for anything beyond her garden.
That allowed Quia to stay there with them in secret while serving in the military. She gained accolades and with special request was able to keep the information from being sent to her father instead going to her brother. It wouldn't be for nearly a decade she would return home for one of the gathering. Her sisters and brothers surprised to see her and anger from their parents about their actions... but she didn't care. She had higher station than she would have gotten and her little sister while disappointed in having to marry him had become the lady of the house when he passed on. A small thing but they reconnected and Quia continued to visit her siblings long after her parents in rage disowned her. She found plenty and her military career continued as she was assigned to a rival lord in the northern frostlands. He and her father were rivals and while he admitted he did it because rubbing his nose in it there was also a warmth to him.
That warmth was in contrast to his wife who was for lack of a better term obsessive and jealous of anyone who might be involved. It carried over and her husband largely stayed away from her. Preferring his fortress where she never wanted to come in the region because fo the cold. The years they spent together were considered well worth it as they fought in the wars and resistances... with Quia having a child eventually... while no one mentioned the father it was taken to the lords house and to be raised as the baby couldn't stay there. With the resistance movements trying to liberate Atrisia it was a chance and Quia and her lord distinguished themselves by luring one sith loyalists who served the offworlders into a trap. She used vortex charges on them and the resulting weather front was unseen on Atrisia before.
It was big enough to be seen by cherry blossom station and deadly enough that they destroyed many of the traitor forces... the lightning and storms becoming so dangerous in places it struck the armored soldiers. Quia used her blade and impaled one of the sithspawn with a spear and its height attracted the lightning like a rod and the beast exploded across the battlefield THe fight was won and the lord put her forward as the Stormcloud general... in charge of all of his forces. That it was revealed her father was part of the traitors meant little since her brothers and sisters who had moved away all denounced him for his crimes. Quia was given the chance to execute him and the Northern lord brought her daughter there with two sisters to watch. Quia preformed it and returned to her post while the news of the Emperor came.
The emperor had been killed and was being regarded as a true hero. With tales coming of what happened but exaggerations came but it was known he sacrificed himself to save the child of the man who supposedly betrayed him... Quia with the lord and his family attended the funeral that was given. Seeing it and when the little girl was crying she explained to her to not cry. That it was her daughter meant little and that the lords wife was one to talk about her behind her back bringing up her father and how he betrayed all of them... it bristled her. Quia returned with honors as the cardinal generals of the Swan, Crane, Stormcloud and Frostfire who were in the field and not under the emperor directly. She was given the lost fortress aa grand quest to rediscover it underway and it was to be hers to raise an army.
Quia continued to serve her new emperor and lord well though showing her loyalty to be beyond reproach regardless of what was saaid about herself. The news that her daughter and the girls half sister had disappeared with the princess... was funny to her but she did her duty and searched for them. LEarning from the third sister that they were not kidnapped or taken they went willingly.... mostly... Tripitaka her daughter followed aas she was loyal to protecting her sisters having learned the truth. In the capital when it was revealed Junko had returned Quia went and visited the princess getting the full story and reconnecting with her daughter who asked that they not go back. THeir third sister had convinced their father to join and she supported it convincing the lord and even getting a little revenge when the emperor upon hearing the wife exiled her from the court.
