Rustbuckets will never go out of style.
Meshla Detta
Heavy rain beat down on Leenic’s helmet, leaving droplets streaking down his visor as he trudged through the thick undergrowth of Kashyyk. He pulled out and activated the Bounty Puck for what seemed like the hundredth time that day. The hologram that appeared was a large male wookie, with light brown fur that was braided around his eyes and tied into something of a ponytail in the back, the name at the bottom read ‘Jite’, and beneath that was presented a hefty sum of four hundred thousand credits. He sighed, he hoped no other Hunters had picked up this bounty while he was tracking this guy because he was really not looking forward to fighting anyone other than his target.
After a few more minutes of trudging around in mud, Leenic came to a cliff overlooking a small valley. Still more trees. Leenic thought, kneeling down and pulling his NT-242 off of his back. Once his rangefinder lowered into position, he looked through the macroscope of his rifle to scan the area below him but only was able to look at the dense canopy of trees that coated the landscape beneath him. After a minute or so of looking around, he sighed and looked away from the scope before raising up his rangefinder. It had been almost two days, and he still hadnt found the location of the Wookiee village he had traced Jite to (not that the constant rain had helped). A bright flash of lightning followed by a loud crash of thunder broke him away from his thoughts and he quickly checked his holo wristwatch for the time. 18:49 was what the watch’s hologram said, and Leenic surely wasnt going to argue with it since the clouds blocked out the sky.
Using his rifle as a pole, Leenic stood up and wiped the mud off his knee plate before turning to look for a tree that might provide some shelter against the storm. He quickly identified a pretty large tree with a decently-sized dry area near its base that he figured would be able to keep him dry enough to sleep. Ill get him tomorrow. He thought, walking over to the dry area and sitting down with his back up against the tree. After all, he probably thinks he’s safe here.
