Story Time

So I think it's high time we do a wide story for the Faction. Now, my mind is loopy of late...and the creative juices are needing some much needed recharging.

So....

.....I would like to hear some suggestions from you on what kind of story faction threads you want to do.

So...

.....Fire!

[member="Xhexania"] brain storming aint really my expertise but if i can find something ill let ya know

Happy to see this!

So yeah, I know I'm the new guy and all but I've got a sort of draft of an idea...? If that makes sense. I was thinking something a bit longer term as opposed to fighting an "NPC dominion" but rather a combination of those and faction threads that have us going against some kind of threat to the COTBR. Played by NPC's (Imaginary players) yet even possibly led by volunteers who'd be interested in making characters specifically for this would-be faction of pretenders we're using as our new source of entertainment ^.^

If we were to consider something along these lines, we'd need to work out:

  • Does COTBR have any true foe's not run by another faction that we've roleplayed with/about in the past? Would there be a history behind these new or old enemies of ours?

  • Would these NPC's have some kind of weapon or leverage to use against the COTBR to pose a big enough threat and demand our immediate attention away from other threads (while not ignoring other Rp's of course).

  • How long do we want our own faction-wide plot to go on for? An easier question but do we drag it out over months and use it to add a little spice to potential recruitment or do we do it over a matter of weeks and keep it strictly for our enjoyment?

I do think that having something a bit more creative and concrete like this will not only give us something to focus on away from certain other distractions but also show that the COTBR can organize itself (not that we need to prove anything!), and provide good solid and enjoyable rp for others, should we invite guests/members to share in the fun with us.

I'd also be inclined to whip up some tensions with OS - the Covenant is invariably at odds with the Sith as a whole, simply because we exist, and have no submitted ourselves to their rule. Maybe we go forth and antagonise them, spoil one of their plans, interfere in a Dominion (not that we can), or just generally make a nuisance of ourselves.

A Dominion or two of our own probably wouldn't hurt - we're in a wonderful position where we're nice and far away from the other main factions, and have plenty of room to expand and consolidate. If we combine this with a suitable recruitment drive.

I'd also emphasise, btw, that the Covenant and the Sith are two very different things - being blunt, I don't entirely feel that COTBR has a very distinctive flavour to it yet, and that's something we should prioritise.

I agree with what [member="Elensa Jari"] said here:

After work on Monday, I'm going to start a Faction thread involving the planet of Lothal. The objective is to root out a possible hidden Sith enclave but instead find some sort of cult that is seeking to conduct acts of terrorism in the Outer Rim region. From my understanding of what I've read, the COTBR wants to ensure the safety of the citizens in the Outer Rim regions. Once we establish ourselves with some kind of reputation through Faction events like that - we can turn our eyes to what [member="Elensa Jari"] was saying about the OS.

If anyone is interested in such an idea just name drop yourself and I'll be sure to tag you when I put up the thread.
