Public Stranded on Felucia

Liddaat wandered through Felucia's jungle, carefully collecting samples of various plants and fungi to research. She had no device to connect to the HoloNet, nor did she have a communication device, but she still had her research equipment. She almost reached for a particularly pretty fungus when she noticed the large bug right next to it. She drew her hand back, recognizing the beetle. It was territorial, and deadly. She moved away from the insect and started searching a few meters away, careful to avoid the bug.

Felucia... a planet of alien fauna, gorgeous sights, and creatures almost as deadly as those on his own world... almost. He felt like he had been here before, but to be honest, he'd been on so many battlegrounds that they seemed to blend together at this point. Only a few stood out to his memory at this point. Geonosis... Hapes... Togoria. Great victories and defeats. Still, as well traveled as he was, it was a good chance for the more or less retired soldier to explore the galaxy with something besides combat in mind.

The wilders had many artforms, one of the most interesting to him being the way of the shifter. But shifting to the shape of any creature required an intimate knowledge that came from more than what holotomes could offer. And while he could spend no small amount of time studying what he could find on Veradune, he felt it was time to diversify his inner menagerie. To this end, the fungal planet of Felucia offered the perfect testing grounds. Striding through, he let the force flow through him, connecting him with the lives around him, simply looking for anything of interest. Dangerous or strange, that was the plan. After all, what fun was there in learning to take the form of some common house pet?

Open as he was to the life around him, the presence of another came as no surprise, though its form was at the start, unknown. He had read up on Felucia's indigenous people, coming to find that they were not always friendly to visitors. Thus, as Liddaat came through the foliage, she would find herself facing the golden eyed Zorren who's fingers rested in the rings of the daggers on his back. Clad in his dark rune covered cloak, the Valde might have presented a somewhat perturbing sight with the weapons along his belt, clawed fingers, and bright glowing eyes.

A narrowed gaze soon turned to a curious glance as Vulpesen sat up straight, letting his hands drift from the mostly concealed weapons and into the open. "Um... Hello." His eyes ran over the woman before him, assessing and scanning her. She was a tiny little thing, her stance showing no martial prowess that he could pick up on. Her hands held nothing but some of the local fauna. The technology around her form seemed to have little in the way of offensive means beyond throwing at someone's head, and indeed appeared mostly used for scanning testing and observation... a scientist. "Lovely day for a hike, ain't it?" Relaxing his own posture, Vulpesen let the minor spike of adrenaline flow out of his system, his tail going from stiff to flicking slowly back and forth to relieve some of his nerves.

"Vulpesen Torrevaso, a pleasure to meet you miss Liddaat." Motioning towards the specimens in her hand, he offered a follow-up question, his tail flicking in curiosity as he spoke. "Personal project or are you in the employ of someone?" Keeping aware of his surroundings, Vulpesen's pointed ears occasionally flicked in different directions, taking note of the sounds around them whether it be the fall of a leaf or the crunch of a branch under some hoof or paw.

"Neither, really." Liddaat said. "I managed to get stranded here, but I've managed to do fine. I have supplies and I know what's poisonous for the most part. I decided to make the most of it and do some research, so I guess it's a bit of a personal project."

Raising a brow in surprise, Vulpesen moved to lean against a tree, his arms folded in front of him. "That's certainly a glass half-full approach. Do you get stranded in places very often?" A lopsided grin touched his lips as he spoke. The galaxy was certainly filled with all sorts of folk. Thankfully for him, he couldn't recall a time that he had been trapped on any one planet without a foreseeable way out. Sure he hated flying, but seeing new places was always well worth the price of admission. "If you don't mind my asking, what are ya lookin for? Perhaps I could help you with your work."

Liddaat shook her head at his question. "No, I've never been stranded anywhere before." At his next question, she shrugged. "I'm not looking for anything specific. I'm just researching the local wildlife." She nodded in the direction of the beetle. "Be careful. There's a Felucian dread beetle over there. Very deadly."

Vulpesen's eyes turned towards the insect, his head cocking curiously to the side as it observed him and he it. "I think I read over those a bit. Not as exciting as some other creatures but I'm sure they have their uses." Raising a hand, Vulpesen kept his eyes on the creature as it gently floated towards him, though he ensured it stayed at least a small distance away to ensure that there were no unfortunate accidents. Using the force to soothe and placate the beetle, Vulpesen studied its shape, doing his best to take note of its every detail.
