Kuat/Sketchy Bar

A song was playing over the speakers in the bar as Tess sipped on a drink she couldn't pronounce the name of. But it was delicious so she didn't complain. She was dressed rather differently on this particular day, with black hair, brown eyes and an outfit befitting the area. Surprisingly, her mission wasn't to get into Kuat Driveyards. No matter how curious she was over what they were up to these days. No, this mission was rather peculiar to say the least. Something much more shady than she would normally do.

She pulled out and lit a cigarette, leaning further into her seat as she studied the people entering and leaving the bar. Her target still had to show himself, though she never got solid info about when he would be arriving. But even if she had, she figured the gangster wouldn't be sticking by the schedule. They never did. So here she was, drinking and smoking against her will in order to wait him in. She hated jobs like this, she always smelled like a cheap prostitute after it all...and she had been on enough jobs like that to know how that smelled.

She took a deep breath and calmed herself, once again studying the people around her. It was a quiet hour for the bar. A few workers from a nearby facility were hanging around one table, while some pilots were sitting around another. Her eyes caught sight of another pilot eyeing her with a smirk. He waved at her but she merely raised her middle finger at him, telling him plenty of what she thought. He simply laughed and gave a salute, returning his attention to his drink.

Everything felt different. It had been forever since the Sith had went for so long outside of her armor, and now she was forced to deal with all the problems and liberties that came with it. Her skin was always tinging and reacting to something, the cusp of air, a change in temperature, the rubbing of loose fabric, it equally agitated the aching nerves of the Sith and made her feel all the more alive. This experiment was a worthwhile one to say the least. The experiment being an attempt to take on a new alias and identity. In the place of Amur was Sahte Kaplan, a cranky desert scav traveling the galaxy looking for a profit and work.

Though most people in the sleezy dive didn't see a Sith in the corner booth but in it's place a woman wrapped head to toe in an outfit that would perfectly befit the desert sandstorms of planets like Jakku and Tatooine. Her face obscured but the eyes underneath scanning the skughole with the intensity of a falcon. Earlier a few patrons after one too many drinks began to raise rabble and tried to mess with her but that only brought swift strikes from the walking stick turned staff and some harsh words in huttese. That seemed to send the message that she preferred to be left alone to drink in peace. A few observant eyes possibly noticing the few times she lowered some fabric to take her drink that a strip of scar tissue seemed to be running across her right eye.

She was waiting for a gangster to walk in and show his face, he apparently dealt with a number of republic politicians and ran some shady businesses, including some stuff relating to Corellia, or so was she told, truth be told intel for this one was sketchier then a Zeltron at a rave insisting they were 'clean'. Still it kept her out of the civil war for a bit longer so she took it. Now she was just bidding her time waiting for the target to show their face. She could feel her saber under one of the folds in her outfit always ready to spring to life should it come down to that, but for now she would need to rely on the staff and a weather dl44 on her hip for if things grew hairy. Hopefully everything would be just peachy as her eyes darted from the entrance to the patrons in the bar.

It had been a long day, much work had been done and Mathieu really believed himself to be deserving of a drink. Even if it was still a little early. Stepping into the establishment after having left the repeater and armour on the ship, the Morellian looked around. Clad in a brown leather jacket just barely covering the top of his blaster which hung by the belt, he walked towards the bar. "Something local" he said, bringing out the credits as the barkeep informed him of what it would be.

With a drink in hand and little desire to be alone, Mathieu looked for the spot which seemed the most exciting, and for now, that was definitely with the workers from the nearby facility. Heading over, he introduced himself to the table with a rather up-beat "Hey!" upon the workers gave him a similar response in return. Grabbing a seat, the Mercenary waded into the conversation. Sadly enough, it was way too centred around local problems which he frankly didn't find all too interesting. Making short work of the drink, he excused himself before starting to move back towards the bar. Whilst moving, he slowly scanned the room, taking note of the pilots, the oddly dressed one in beige and the girl at the booth, deciding to either visit her or the pilots once he had gotten a refill.

"Alright, let's go for a Corellian this time" he chirped upon which the barkeep slowly asked "....whiskey?" as if the large human might have wanted to order another kind of Corellian. Obilivious to whatever else it was he could have ordered and believing it to be rather self evident, a meek smile formed on his lips as he nodded "That would be great" upon which the barkeep got to work. Happily walking back down towards the booths, the cantina doors swooshed open. Glancing to see the new arrival to the still rather calm establishment, the Mercenary suddenly froze, standing right in front of it but about 8 metres away. His smile quickly fell and his forehead furrowed "Her" he thought as he quickly tensed up whilst his stare burrowed into the newly arrived.

The work on Kuat had been boring to say the least but the experience was necessary to get better jobs elsewhere. The hours were long and tedious but the pay was good and the downtime wasn't bad either. Rather than waste money at an expensive, snobbish cocktail bar where she would have to scrutinise her every move, she preferred to frequent a less reputable bar on the other side of the city which did the trick all the same and provided far more interesting characters to mingle with.

Her preference for Naboo fashion was unwelcome here and so she had to dress down considerably to avoid drawing attention to herself and wore her hair neatly in two braids to keep it out of her face. This bar would be her second stop of the night after she had stopped by a new bar on the way that had a great deal on shots but now she just wanted to relax at her favourite bar with a drink in her hand to make the most of her day off.

Upon entering the bar, she froze in the doorway when the first thing her eyes fell on was that fool from Naboo but she quickly composed herself and offered him a smile before walking over to the bar to order a drink, pretending nothing was amiss. With drink in hand, she scanned the bar for an interesting character to talk to and with a new sense of confidence she slid into a booth next to a peculiarly dressed woman and propped her elbow up on the table, examining her for a moment before speaking. "Aren't you hot in that?" Elena asked, looking the woman up and down.

As Tess looked around, she spotted a man that looked strikingly similar to the one she was waiting for. The only difference she saw between him and the picture was the hairstyle. Figuring that not keeping quiet was the better option, Tess scooted to get out of her booth. Though she stopped when the man froze at the sight of a new arrival. She remained seated, carefully watching the man's reaction as well as the woman's. The woman moved on like nothing happened, but she could definitely see that they had history.

She decided to make her move. She got out the booth and made her way towards the man. "About time you showed up, I've been waiting here forever." she quipped. If he was indeed her target, he'd know what she meant. If not, well hopefully he could alleviate her boredom. Keeping an eye out, she noticed the woman move over to a drifter sitting off to the side. She had been keeping an eye on the figure, but so far she had yet to see anything more interesting than a quick glimpse of some scarring along their jaw.

While all of this was going down, a small group of rather sketchy looking characters entered the cantina and made their way to the bar. They kept to themselves, but a keen eye could see that they didn't exactly welcome a a friendly atmosphere. The effect, though, could be seen in the patrons of the bar. Some went quiet for a moment while others kept glancing at them. As the new arrivals got their drinks and took a seat by a booth, they started to lighten up and unwind. It seemed to put the rest of the cantina at ease, but they still had a rather noticeable aura around them. Tess made a point of keeping them in the corner of her eye.
