Jaster had meet Mr. Duquo on a previous engagement that Jaster had deemed classified. The Trade Conglomerates actions and dealings withing the Unknown Region were strictly need to know. Yet Jaster was interested in the ways of the force. He had dealing with Jedi and Sith before, many from each sides of the spectrum. Some were what phycologist might call mentally unbalanced, other were wise leaders and masters. Yet Jaster knew near nothing about this mystical conundrum that many within their ranks called the Force.

Jaster invited the Force User Duquo to the planet Monestary where Jaster first got a glimps of understanding of the Force. Here on the Monk Planet, a Force User lent Jaster a HoloCron. She was killed in the Neatherworld Incident years ago, and without her assistance, Jaster was unable to open it. So that was why he invited Mr. Duquo, to see if he was able to open the object and together they were able to learn more about the Mystical force.

Groaning slightly as his recent wounds were stretched, Xavka slowly arose from the pilot's seat of his personal starship. Money was always something he struggled for, having never needed it on Iridonia and during his time as a slave, so he had leant back onto his experiences of fighting to provide a salary. As such he was a constant contender in many Gladiatorial rings that the numerous Hutts of the galaxy ruled over, using the reward money as his income. The tanned Zabrak checked once more that he was at the correct coordinates an employer, Jaster, had sent him before turning and limping out of the cockpit and out of the ship into the atmosphere of the Monk Planet: Monestary.

With Xavka was his ever-present wooden cane, assisting him in walking, as his scarred face looked around the new location, taking in everything possible with his only working eye, the other staring unseeing. Strapped over the top of Xavka's loose, silk trousers on his right thigh was a small, leather pouch. On his torso, Xavka currently wore his usual black jacket, open this time, and a skin-tight, black shirt. His clawed feet were bare apart from a scant few wrappings around the heal.

Sighing, he looked at the building before him, within which he sensed the familiar presence of Jaster, before making his way in. Using his senses, both physical and mystical, he followed the same path Jaster had taken. He had been asked to meet the man so as to help in learn of the Force and although Xavka himself was still a learner, his scientist mind had already compelled him to study the mystical field which he and numerous other beings could call onto to use to affect the physical world despite the Force's apparent, natural, intangible state.

Jaster was in deep thought when the force user appeared.

He stared at the HoloCron, it was nothing Jaster had ever seen before. He could feel something was emitting from it, almost as if it had the force, but that wasn't possible, it was an object. He was a novice to the force of course, but he always heard the raving of both the Sith and the Jedi, and only living things can emit the force. The only exception he knew of was that certain crystals could contain the force, but that was only vary rare occasions, and Jaster knew of no crystal that could store data. Millions of thoughts were rushing through his head, none would be answered just yet.

That was when he noticed the shivering under his skin, a force user was near. A sixth sense he squired working with the Force Healers of this planet back when he was a Medic for refugee camps. He tuned his senses to feel the vibrations that other force users emitted. He didn't know why or how he could feel it, but it came in handy sometimes.

"Ahh, Mr. Duquo, very appreciative of you showing up on such a odd request, but truthfully I have no one else to ask of such a delicate project," Jaster walked him over to the table in the middle of the observation room, it was surrounded by computer terminals and lab equipment, but on the table sat a blue Octagonal Prisms just sitting there, "This is a Jedi HoloCron, or at least I think so, it was given to me by an old friend who died in the Neatherworld Incident some time back."

Stepping into the room, Xavka's attention was not drawn straight away to the imposing figure of Jaster, the man he was to meet, but to the intricately designed octagonal prism sitting in front of the man. Radiating from the prism was a strong Force presence, one that intertwined itself into the strands of the Force in curls and flows, much like ink in running water. That presence had the distinctive "taste" of Lightness. Xavka himself, despite feeling it, could not explain the "taste" in any way other than that it just was. It was an ability those that were taught how to feel through the mysticisms of the Force could instinctively do. When Jaster spoke up, breaking the slight trance the Zabrak had fallen into as a method to investigate the prism, Xavka's head snapped from the table to the approaching man, yellow eyes fixed in a pointed stare.

Finding himself soon looking down at the prism again, this time next to both the desk and Jaster, Xavka began to speak. "I've heard of the Netherworld incident, didn't experience it personally, but I've heard of it. I'm sorry for your loss." He fell silent again, returning to staring at the HoloCron that sat so innocently in the physical plane but was so prominent within the intangible plane that the Force resided in.

"I do not mean to be rude, Jaster," the familiar address was born from an ignorance on any other form of address, "you don't mind if I call you that, do you? Anyway, as I was saying. I do not mean to be rude, but is there any other reason for me to be called here other than to stare at a HoloCron in silence?" As he finished speaking, Xavka turned to face Jaster, his right brow raised as he rested his weight onto his cane.

Bhaltair Dhimani

A little Ruff can go a long way
In the back of the room, Bhaltair sat behind a console array. There was a number of monitor equipment hooked up and continually scanning the holocron on multiple types of levels. Energy, heat, radiation, the whole shabang. He stopped his fingers from alternating between 3 different keyboards so that he could say,

"A pleasure to meet you, [member="Xavka Duquo"]. Don't mind me. [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] is just having me tag along to keep an eye out for every bit of data we can squeeze out of this."

while continually watching the readings of one of the computer screens. Nothing was happening as of yet, but a Force user had just started to interact with the holocron. Bhaltair had no clue what could possibly happen and he didn't want to miss any of it.

Jaster walked over to the HoloCron and picked it up, the wires and other objects reading the low levels of... well something. Jaster looked at it and was truely mesmurized by its obscurity. He then turned to lean on the table and hold it up, "Well Mr.... I mean Xavka, I don't know what is inside this object, and only a Jedi can open it, I'm still unsure of who it belongs to, or if it's even safe to open, but I personally would like to know what my friend risked her life for."

Jaster put it down again and let the droids attend to outing the wires back on. Once they were complete, the screens started pulsating again, many waves of lines went across the multiple screens. "The HoloCron is emitting low levels of something, we aren't entirely sure, but it's only coming off the Alpha Wavelengts, so something is within that thing that holds some type of living thing, scientifically at least, Mr. [member="Bhaltair Dhimani"], has been the one studying the HoloCron since I gave it to him several weeks ago, neither of us were able to manipulate it to open, thus we unlisted your assistance."

When the scientist monitoring one console array spoke up, Xavka turned to his attention to him. Nodding his head in the scientist's direction in an unseen and silent greeting Xavka spoke. "A pleasure to meet you to." His tone was soft, contrasting his rough voice, as his attention had returned back to the Holocron while he sunconsioucly began to tap his cane of the floor, the rings of metal on wood echoing through the room.

As the voice of Jaster once again was raised to fill the oncoming, empty silence, Xavka listened with half an ear, listening to what was said but continuing to have the majority of his attention to be paid to the intricately designed prism.

"It is understandable to wish to understand the motives of those that die for a specific reason. As such, you will have my full assistance on this matter." The Sith Acolyte, even though he himself viewed himself as more Dark Grey than Dark, began to slowly stalk around the table, he eyes never leaving the Holocron as he effortlessly avoided the mess of wires the dropped to the ground.

"You are quite correct to say that this device contains a living consciousness, however you would be wrong to assume that it is living." Xavka's voice was soft as he slowly spoke his thoughts, barely paying attention to the physical world as he explored the Force item that he continued to focus on through the Force. "Most Holocrons are created with a simulated consciousness, a limited AI-VI Hybrid if you will. This Hybrid is a gatekeeper, a guard for all of the knowledge contained and the way that someone interacting with the Holocron will access the data contained. It is nothing more than a glorified search engine given a living consciousness, one that is often programmed to assess whoever accesses the Holocron to see if they are worthy of the knowledge using guidelines set by the creator."

Now Xavka had stopped pacing and resume his position next to Jaster, his cane continuing to tap a steady rhythm that rang off of the walls. "However, sometimes the creator goes one step further and access a state I would refer to as semi-immortality. Instead of creating a Hybrid to serve as the Gatekeeper, they instead pour their very essence into the crystal after attuning it to their Force Presence. This has the effect of imprinting their mind, their knowledge and their personality into the crystal which is then placed into the Holocron. The Holocron then serves as a protective case and a way to trigger the crystal. The only way to activate the trigger is through the Force."

Falling silent moment, Xavka turned his attention to both scientists in the room, Jaster and Bhaltair. "Please understand that this might not be exact, that my knowledge comes from my own theories and the small nuggets I have gained possession off." Silence once again fell upon the Zabrak while he stopped the tapping of his cane.

"How do you wish to proceed?" He had been hired by Jaster, as such Xavka would leave the decision to his employer on how to continued the test.

Bhaltair Dhimani

A little Ruff can go a long way
As [member="Xavka Duquo"] spoke, Bhaltair had pulled open Macrosoft Word 420 and typed in small snippets of info capturing that Xavka was informing them with. This was a treasure mine of info, but it would only lead to many more questions, experiments, studies, interviews, etc. Even though it was disgruntling, Bhaltair knew that this was a most likely outcome ever since he heard the word "Force" be mentioned.

It would have been so much simpler for any scientist to stubbornly believe and work solely from a naturalistic point of view. Yet, blinders like that kept you from the truth that every scientist was meant to chase after. So, with this in mind, Bhaltair would work doggedly to discover more and more about the Force. As long as he kept calm and used his smarts to figure this out, he'd come out of it with plenty of money and resources to figure out how to solve his...other problem.

When Xavka put out a disclaimer to his speech, Bhaltair sighed inwardly and saved the document as "Possible Force Findings". At least it was better than nothing. The description was scientifically mind-blowing to say the least. A consciousness inside a crystal that judges you? What powers this thing?...Oh, frell. What in the world powered this thing?!? If they could figure that out, would they have a potential source for energy? Unlimited energy, even??

To be honest, this was all a scientific nightmare. The act of putting an un-quantifiable, intangible object, like your soul, into a physical object would normally be found in science fiction novels and cheap late-night holovids, not right in front of Bhaltair himself. Yet, here it was. He cracked his knuckles and kept monitoring the Holocron.

This theory ran along the same as Jasters, he knew the only way to properly open a HoloCron was to use the force. The only problem was that Jaster needed the data, so for this object to judge his hired help was disconcerting. Jasters friend was a fallen Jedi, turned from the Jedi order as her research and medical help was frowned apon and was asked to stop her work. She didn't wish to and fled to Monestary where the Healer Guild of old kept her in secrete. Jaster was the Guilds Quartermanter at the time and help the Fallen Jedi conduct her research, never did he find out what she was working on. After she entered the Neatherworld to help evacuate refugees, we never returned to reclaim the HoloCron. Since then Jaster had gathered nearly all his resource to continue her work.

For it to be dashed away on a mere judgment was somewhat of a concern as he didn't trust any other force user to do this. Also was concerning was that if this HoloCron held her soul and memories, then Jaster would rely on [member="Xavka Duquo"] to rewrite the details. This would take months, as she was very meticulous. Jaster hoped that this was a starmap or held a DataChip in it to explain it all.

Jaster looked at the Rouge Force User, "I wish for you to open this HoloCron, I wish to know what my friend was working on, but also learn of this thing your Jedi and Sith call the 'Force', it's been a research project of mine and Dr. [member="Bhaltair Dhimani"]."
