DESCRIPTION |
Aether Systems began the development of the SU-50RS to further assist in the modernization and ongoing standardization of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force, specifically its equipment and vehicles utilized in the field. The SU-50RS was designed with a focus on reconnaissance and speed, creating a vehicle that was capable of achieving top speed and high levels of acceleration whilst also being able to capture comprehensive visual reconnaissance at those speeds. This was accomplished by the inclusion of a powerful IN-780 Ion Turbofan Engine, which had been utilized by its predecessors in the SU-42RS and SU-40RS respectively. The SU-50RS combines an array of equipment such as the PA-9r Array, PG-7u Analysis Grid, an ANs-5d Transceiver, and various cameras fitted with optical enhancements into a powerful ARS-6B Atmospheric Reconnaissance Suite. This suite is what allows the vehicle to capture comprehensive visual data in high resolution when the vehicle is deployed on Reconnaissance missions. Though the vehicle was designed around speed, it has a noted lack of maneuverability and overall agility, often displaying difficulty in executing aerial maneuvers as well as having difficulty in navigating sharp turns. Likewise, as its design was focused on speed, it lacks heavier defensive measures, most notably, heavier armor; resulting in a vehicle that while capable of withstanding most small-arms fire, is vulnerable to heavier armaments. While the SU-50RS is equipped with armaments, it is clear that they too had also been neglected in favor of the vehicle's speed and impressive reconnaissance suite. Despite these shortcomings, the SU-50RS provides the Galactic Alliance with a fast-moving strike-craft that can accomplish reconnaissance runs at high speed and is capable of outrunning most, if not all, starfighters and missiles sent to intercept the craft. The SU-50RS has already begun to find itself on the front lines or deployed with clandestine units for reconnaissance purposes. |
