Sub-Factions

I would like to say I approve of the new name and I really love the new Faction banner. I don't know who created it but excellent work!

I've been thinking about creating a sub-faction within the Black Rose. Hopefully this will help with activity and draw new members. I went through some of the more active member's character bios to get an understanding of how each writer is trying to direct their character.

My character is more into the Magickal and Alchemy sides of things - which I know not everyone likes or wants that route. I noticed some writers have taken to science,biology, working with plants (looks at [member="Xhexania"] ), viruses and all out combat oriented (yes [member="Darth Veles"] this includes your expertise in Assassinations).

So I'm planning to start a sect/sub-faction of spellcasters. Haven't decided own a name or mantra for them yet. After drinking my fourth cup of coffee it sounded like a good idea to me. I'm under the impression that Xhexania is going to be redoing the Faction Advertisement page and hopefully this sect/sub-faction might appeal to other writers.

Before I log off for the day - a name and sub-faction will be started. If anyone has an idea for a sect/sub-faction for the Black Rose they want to see - post your idea here.

Remember there is no such thing as a silly idea. So if you want a sect devoted to riding pink elephants - well I'm sure we can oblige your concept.

I’ve been giving some thoughts to our skype discussions regarding carving this little order of ours into something unique, making a name for ourselves away from the One Sith and the other Darkside factions. While I haven’t thought out the details of any of this; as it will require some time and collective idea’s and contributions, I think that these sub-factions could certainly help to organize the faction as a whole into roles best suited to our characters IC.

Let’s see where you all land on them, no pressure but I’m simply brain storming in order to inspire some sort of positive happening around the Black Rose.

Prospective Sub-Factions.​

The People’s Army.​

​

The Black Rose militia made up out of all kinds of civilians and Black Rose soldiers whether force sensitive or otherwise, the militia is a voluntary service made not for the income of the governments nor the Order of the Black Rose but rather to support and protect the Outer-Rim territories through strength and a will of iron.​

The 308th Legion.​

​

These elite soldiers have established themselves among the peoples army, taken on by members of the Black Rose to be trained and hone their abilities in reigning death down upon the enemy, they are the vanguard of the people and have sworn fealty not to the Black Rose but to it’s ideals and goal to secure the Outer-rim from those that would oppress the stability that has been built up around the Orders territories.​

The Black Hand.​

The hand of the Black Rose, secret intelligence operatives such as spies and assassins working in the shadows and taking on the Orders darkest jobs, this is a sanction that comes with a slim life expectancy, the operatives are trained and honed by the Council of the Black Rose and whose identities are kept even from the members within the Order itself, it is an agency who thrives within covert operations.​

The Institute.​

​

Located on Subterrel carved into one of the many mining colonies, this establishment was taken by force and turned into a dark academy for the instruction of Acolytes. Those who surpassed the expectations placed upon them would ascend to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight or Sith lord depending upon the workings of the students Master; and certainly not without their approval.​

Council of the Black Rose.​

​

Already established, the members within the Council govern the Order of the Black Rose and ultimately steer the fate of its loyalist members.​

Like I said, these are purely brainstorming idea's to help inspire a bit of creative works there. I don't know whether or not it's fitting for the Order given I'm still so fresh but if it helps then I'm happy, if not then...-Well I'll keep brainstorming.

Ultimately, we don't have the resources or training to field an Army that can match OS or some of the other factions, and we shouldn't act like those factions in that respect, either. I think a standing army is a good idea, but not constituted by civilians - that should be folded into the Black Legion/308th.

Well that's precisely why it's a militia, army only in title.

A militia is a war group ready for battle yet made up of civilians and volunteers who want to be there, forcing no one who doesn't wish to be. It's for the civilians that would rather stand and fight alongside our people rather than rely on us to protect them and it will promote a sense of strength for independent nations.

That said, we don't have the same resources as the OS, this is true. Which would mean it wouldn't be anything near the scale of some of the other major factions but it would provide a sense of stability IC should we visit these systems and give us something to RP.
