Name: Galactic Alliance Base

Intent: To provide a headquarters and central source of military/relief/diplomatic efforts for the Galactic Alliance.
Classification: Generic
Location: Sullust. The base is located within an undisclosed non-volcanic mountain chain that could best be described as slightly south of the equator. Ninety-five percent of the base is located underground and within the mountain chain.
Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
Population: Galactic Alliance Base can hold 110,000 sentients. It can comfortably sleep 72,396 sentients within the barracks located within the Base. Many of the other 37,604 sentients found in the base either live in various areas on Sullust or are merely passing through.

Description: Taking a cue from the native Sullustians, the Galactic Alliance chose to build underground due to the toxic atmosphere found. Scouting a chain on non-volcanic mountains it was found to be an ideal location for the military base. Blasting through dirt and rock, the base is quite simple in construction, with reinforced chambers and tunnels. Specialty bricks were created to handle the problem of the lava rich ground, keeping the underground structure safe from the heat and destructive flows.
Within the base, clearly marked passageways guide Alliance personnel throughout the cavernous space. Blast doors mark off certain locations, a safety feature installed for breaches of lava or enemy forces. Most of the base is divided on either side by Naval or Army operations, with the more common areas located in the central areas of the base.
History: As the Galactic Alliance grew, the planet of Sullust was chosen for the first location of a military base for the faction. With meetings held, Starchaser gave a group of individuals (Dashiell, Kerrigan) ideas to build upon. As the Alliance grows, so will the tales that will be a carried out in its subterranean walls.

Hangar, Hangar Barracks, Starfighter Mechanical :
Located in the more upper portions of the mountain chain, the hangar for the starfighters of the Alliance can be found. Within the hangar, the main floor space is open with each starfighter having their own "bay" in order to keep the main floor space clear. Within the main floorspace is a large starfighter lift that takes each individual fighter to a launch space. Due to a maglev system, the starfighter is launched out the mountain, through open blast doors, to the Sullust atmosphere. Starfighter mechanical and repairs are located near the hangar for ease of use. In a change from many bases, the fighter pilot barracks are also located extremely close to the hangar. This allows pilots to quickly scramble in the event of an emergency. Pilots and starfighter personnel are housed four to a barrack. The barracks share two large locker-room style refreshers.
Recreation Center :
Every underground military base needs a recreation center to keep the morale high. Galactic Alliance knows the important of keeping everyone happy, especially in a high stress environment. Officer's Club is name only, with a bar and entertainment experience open to enlisted as well. Holofilm screening takes place as well, although the films are not guaranteed to be the newest in the universe. Recreation wouldn't be complete without the multi-sport ball court and swimming pool.

Much like the separate starfighter barracks, the army operates their own space within the Base. The army is located much deeper in the Base system, not needing to scramble at a moments notice. Located within this area are identical barracks to that of their naval counterparts. A two-story shooting range resides in this area, along with state of the art training complex to keep soldiers sharp.
