Sunny Day

It had been more than a year since Jairdain had seen her brother. Times had changed for her and even though they had adopted each other, she still retained some secrets. She had made a decision on one of those secrets though and asked him to meet with her on Commenor.

Ron would know of her position there as the advisor to the crown prince. He was missing though and she just knew when he returned, he would so far changed as to not be the same man. Her brother did not know about her now broken engagement. Another thing he was unaware of was her son.

They seriously needed to catch up on everything that had happened in their time apart. Knowing he might not be on Kashyyyk, all Jairdain had to do was reach out with the Force to him. On the chance that didn't work, she also sent him a holomessage and requested him to join her on Commenor.

She did not know how long it would take for him to arrive, she set a date to meet that would allow him time to travel across the galaxy if he was on the other side. That day had arrived and instructions had been given for him to meet her at her residence in the palace there. Now she waited on her brother to show up.

It would have appeared that since face down the dark jedi things had somewhat changed him that it appeared to set in motion events he had no initial foreseen. For in time soon after that, his path shifted and he saw himself drifting slight away from the light though not entirely. As the mentor and lesson of the past seemingly prepared him for it though he did not know or realized it back then. As from then on his path seem to have drifted further from what he once knew at which time the man he once soon seemed a blur in his mind eye. And from most of the others thought not to one...

She who thought was not of his blood was now the close thing to a family for him as with the blessing along with the binding of the blood oath. He had taken to adopt her as one his own. And with it thought apart for some time soon after the thought of her no less linger to brush his mind at which time. With some reluctance, he'd had to no less peel himself away from the current pace of hunting down the darkness. When from one his stop a message from her came thru his ship holo....one which took the additional prodding from the force tor he realizes it was no illusion. As such heeding the call to meet he then head turn his ship around and meet with her at the appointed coordinates and time.

Unsure of what awaited him thoughtfully trusting in her Ronin slowly made his approach toward Commenor space.

His arrival was anticipated and landing directions were provided.

"Welcome to Commenor. Please allow us to escort you to your sister."

Jairdain could have arranged to have this meeting held at the Silver Embassy in the city, but she wanted Ron to see where she was staying. In the palace, she knew the ins and outs though. It was her home and the Embassy was not.

Provided he followed his guide, he would be lead to the palace through the city. A transport was provided and he would see clear signs of the battle that had recently happened there. Since Jairdain had given her word that no harm was going to happen, there was no scan of him for weapons when he entered the palace. His guide took him to her rooms and knocked.

Opening the door, she motioned for Ron to enter and closed the door behind him. Jairdain was standing there with open arms to give him a hug.

"Welcome to Commenor, Ronin. Make yourself comfortable. Would you like a drink or something to eat?"

It was then much to his suprise the transition from his arrival to Comennor airspace to landing onto one its spaceport. Which recently for him had not been much of something that came too often for with way things had been thus far. The compulsion to heed the call to commit to following thru with shadows directive had been at best impulsive as much it been demanding. As such that he had been spending more and more his time away from Silver space at same token spending them more in the far reaches of space hunting down that one would consider tainted by the darkness.

A task sort in a sense close to what one would expect but with a far more lethal outcome. Something which in sense drove him further away from most contact as he works in sort out the dilemma he somehow found himself in that is until she came to send word of the invitation her which he no set him to come at which time his attention had been momentarily distracted by the voice from one who met him soon after.

"Welcome to Commenor. Please allow us to escort you to your sister."

To which with a nod and silence that soon followed that he thought still somewhat reluctant no less complied with. As if nothing else with their blood bond hold stronger now that before after much that had transpired thus far since the meeting with the elders. That he then had been lead and soon came face to face with her as she then with gracious warmth as he had known her to have. Throw her arm in the air seem all to expectant as he then follows thru with a hug that she spoke.

"Welcome to Commenor, Ronin. Make yourself comfortable. Would you like a drink or something to eat?"

To which he then seems only then slowly able to ease the tension enough to relax his guard a bit in her presence.

" Well thanks for the welcome.....and I guess ....both those sound good as either one been in short supply lately. As lately my travels had kept me away....."

He then cut his sentence short...unsure if anything else word or rumors of the past few seasons had reached her.

"What has been keeping you away, Ron?"

Motioning for him to follow her into the small kitchen while she got him something to eat and drink, she was quiet while he answered.

Things had been tough on her since they had last gotten together and Jairdain wondered if any rumor had spread about her. Hopefully that hadn't happened and she would be able to tell her brother everything before he learned from anybody else.

As she moved around the kitchen and then brought the food to the table, he would see what looked like a small, green wolf on her shoulder. He had wrapped himself around her neck and peered at him with intelligence. Raising a hand to pet him, he climbed off her neck to investigate Ronin.

"That is Sage."

It was then thought with a bit of hesitation that he sort look away for a moment. Unsure if anything else how best say or even explain the things as of late to her thought he knew all too well. Given the blood bond, there was really no keeping it from her. As she then came forth to speak just as he turns his gaze towards her as in the back his mind he could shake the thought of wanting to tell her both conflicting as much if anything else...

"What has been keeping you away, Ron?"

To which case figuring if no one else she would understand to which he then while following close to her lead Ronin replied.

"Well I don't know .... there been just somethings guess had to find out on my own. Things that I've left too long to fester and plagued me ....."

He then pauses for a moment before continuing but then again before he could a small wolf that seems been inconspicuously perched on her shoulder came forth let itself known. At which time it then seem out curiosity came to tentatively scout him out which after taking a few sniffs at his direction it then let out a slight growl before retreating back to her...

"That is Sage."

At which time he then leaning back to one side of the room then continued on speaking.

"....which it seem even Sage here aware off. That as much i try...darkness follows me and that the struggles seem always there....to seek it out and end it."

It was very odd for Sage to growl at anybody and a look of wonder crossed her face.

"He's my brother, Sage. You're going to have to get used to seeing him. Ronin has never done anything to harm me and in fact, has gone out of his way to help me."

Scolding Sage slightly, she picked him back up and replaced him on her shoulder. Giving him a pet, Jairdain back to eating. Taking a few bites, there was a look of sorrow on her face and she put her fork down.

"This food is something like what my people would have made. My home was destroyed when I was barely able to care for myself and my people are dead. Ronin, thank you for accepting me into your family because I had none left. Now I also have a son...his name is Marcus."

Her son was three and taking a nap. Pretty soon he would wake up and find his way into the kitchen with them. She wanted to prepare Ronin for this surprise.

"He's my brother, Sage. You're going to have to get used to seeing him. Ronin has never done anything to harm me and in fact, has gone out of his way to help me."

It was at that time while note with a passing glance the look upon her face as she spoke as he listens keeping his gaze upon the floor. Unsure if nothing else how best to proceed given that as much part of him long for this moment. There was no less that part of him that dread it knowing that in the back his mind came the fear and doubt....regarding the events along with the truth of the past few days. That made him doubt if nothing else how much of the man she knew him to be was really there that to this end. With a side glance at her, he spoke.

" No worries..."

He then stands aside and sat across from her as the two ate thought his mind seems to wander. Lost for words as the memories of the past few days play in his mind while he did try hard to keep himself in check and in the moment when. He then turns his head gaze in her direction while she spoke.

"This food is something like what my people would have made. My home was destroyed when I was barely able to care for myself and my people are dead. Ronin, thank you for accepting me into your family because I had none left. Now I also have a son...his name is Marcus."

At which time hear this revelation from her was somewhat seem briefly lost on him till such time his mind could be reel back to the present. That he then turns to face her as he'd spoken.

"No need for thanks for seem i would have it any other way.....and a son?"

Once Jairdain released Sage, he ran back up into the pocket built for him and curled up. Keeping an eye on Ronin though, he made no further moves to him. Being of the green kind, he was easy going and went with the flow of things. Very much like Jairdain herself. Probably why they had bonded over any of the other wolves around. She was thankful for his presence and nuzzled up against him for a moment.

For a few moments, they ate the food in silence and then Ronin spoke as her words made it through processing in his mind. Giving a smile and nodding, she tipped her head in the direction he was sleeping.

"He'll be waking up from his nap soon. You can meet him then. The smell of the food will bring him here."

As if on queue, she heard his waking up and stumbling around to find his way to the kitchen. Moving over to pick him up, Jairdain carried Marcus over to meet his uncle for the first time.

"This is [member="Marcus Ismet-Ku"]."

And so with his mind in deep thought, he did well think hard how best to break things to her....as surely he figured, unlike the others. His sudden disappearance these past few seasons would be somewhat of curiosity or worry. Although this thought seemingly slightly push aside by her revelation of a son....something which had been not been lost on him. As if nothing else seems after somewhat having lost track of time of late her announcement seem to put things in perspective in term of time.

"He'll be waking up from his nap soon. You can meet him then. The smell of the food will bring him here."

As her words came to help break his train of thought before it delved deeper into the darkness and brought him back to the now. As he then let off a faint smirk to then reply.

" I bet..."

And seem on cue her son enter the room after which pick him up to meet him he then turned his gaze at him.

"This is Marcus Ismet-Ku."

Without a hint of being shy, Marcus found his way to Ronin. The path between him and his target was clear of any debris and he didn't stumble over anything for once. He was also blind like Jairdain and had yet to develop his Force Sight. Just a difference between mom and son. She had no idea if he would be as strong as she was, but it didn't matter. Jairdain loved her son no matter what.

"Marcus, this is your uncle Ronin."

At that, he plopped down on the floor and started sucking on a hand while he waited to be put into a chair so he could eat his food.

Unless Ronin did that, Jairdain would get up and put him into his chair and set some of the food in front of him

"What do you think? I've kept him a secret for a few reasons. You're among a few people I trust enough to tell. Then again probably more people know now than I would like...but that's where a saying comes in. One can keep a secret, two cannot. Oh well, I just hope he remains safe."

Now that her largest news was out of the way, she turned her attention to her brother.

"What has happened to you these past few years?"

It then seemed on cue with barely hint of shyness a boy had seemed found his way into the room and onto his side. Cut a path between them thru the clear room without missing a beat which on all account he would not presume take any note off if not for the fact. Seem much like his mother he too had been afflicted with blindness but to what extent he was not quite sure just yet. Given how well he seemingly navigated the room with ease and without even stumbling over once. But then again turn his head for a moment away from his gaze from him to Jairdain as she spoke.

"Marcus, this is your uncle Ronin."

At that point just then no sooner had she call him Uncle Ronin that he hears a slight plopping sound that made him turn back to him. To see the boy now plop down on the floor sucking on a hand as if expecting or waiting on something to which oddly enough a thought seems to brush his mind.

"Uncle....chair... food?"

To which he could help but stifle a faint laugh and smile. Just as he then reaches down to pick the youth up and place him on a nearby chair as she then continued on speaking.

"What do you think? I've kept him a secret for a few reasons. You're among a few people I trust enough to tell. Then again probably more people know now than I would like...but that's where a saying comes in. One can keep a secret, two cannot. Oh well, I just hope he remains safe."

At which time he could only nod after take one brief glance at the boy now seem contented sit on the chair.

" Well, I guess the boy takes after you in some way.... although believe me I understand why. Given way things are can't say keeping one secret for safety reason so so far fetch although one can all but keep it so for only so long... but then again all one can do is try and just the same seem to be doing quite well at it...."

He then for a moment grew silent as his mind drifted....to time from his own youth as well the events of late which apparently seem had not been lost on her as she spoke.

"What has happened to you these past few years?"

To which time after he then turns back to her spoke in response.

" ...Well seem much thought much like yourself I did my best keep it secret. Given the fact I knew well was venturing into uncharted grounds....but looking back guess could be for the best or worse. I guess only time can tell...see after our brief encounter with the elder I couldn't help wanting to know more and learn. What it meant...fo the heritage of my father now that I came to know if it to maybe gain some understanding ....some semblance of balance in a way to this nagging emptiness I felt.

So ventured far....out of the council knowledge and see for myself which seem went well in the beginning. As I got spend some time with the elder for briefest of the moment. That is till something change and before I knew it was just me...and my confidence perhaps got the best of me. And I began to hunt them down....tired as I was from hiding. I figured enough was enough so went after the dark shadow that been plage me so....and have said it wasn't pretty. Which is why I don't fault sage for his reaction earlier..."

On top of the shock of a nephew, Jairdain decided to break the other surprise to him. With the snap of a finger, her appearance changed slightly. Her eyes took on a dull, yellow glow and her ears started to grow slightly pointed. Behind her, a tail came into sight and that she wrapped around her stomach.

"In the time you were off learning about your own father, I learned about mine. I belong to a race called Zorren and am actually royalty there. Well, sort of royalty. I have a brother that is king of Veradune. A real brother Ronin. Somebody that shares my blood! I am not longer the last of my people. Same as you in a way. Since you adopted me..."

Wrinkling her eyebrows together she stopped speaking for a moment and looked back at him. Though she was still blind, Sage had really helped her with seeing things and she smiled.

"Are you also royalty?"

It was then while his mind seems lost between the event of both their revelation more so her than his. That with a snap of a finger she no less seems not done with her revelation as it soon became apparent as her appearance changed. That she was holding back one last bit of detail for last...wait for seem the opportune moment to make the revelation as it were. And before he knew it she stood there with her eyes take a dull yellow glow and ears starting to grow to a slightly pointed tip. That was then concluded by a tail that came appear to have been slightly wrapping around her waist.

She then came to say as he stood there in bit stun silent as he silently grips at both the strange coincidence and significance of it all as it seems came to fall into place in his mind, Which apparently thought blind had not been lost to her his physical reaction which at best she with a wrinkled frow and smile then adds to break the silence.

"Are you also royalty?"

At which time he then having settled to came to reply.

" Well seem lot had happened since we last met and if nothing else I am happy that at the very least. We seem both found that we are not alone as we think we were after all. That, however, it may be.... but just the same seem."

He pauses in a seem before he continued on.

"Well as being royalty.....might say in certain point view you could say that. Although my research into the matter is now quite complete yet....far I can say our line had been for the most part been connected to royalty. Thought we were not of the governing nobility as you seem to be....the guardians for whom I apparently descended from my father line seem been know as far I can loosely define it from what bit I could decipher or learn. Had been far before the republic or the Jedi ...SIth order came been so had protected as much served to have upheld the Kashi Dynasty from the beginning up to I guess its unfortunate loss soon after before. That they seemingly kept the balance ...they held quite a bit of interesting rumors as well skills that definitely link to their unusually strong bond with what can only be described as the living force. Something which didn't quite hold the same clear cut adherence to light or dark as we do now. Which in all honesty I myself am at a loss to understand though I try which is why I kept away for all this time....."

His reaction to her was one of acceptance and Jairdain was thankful for that. Listening to what Ronin was saying, she nodded. This was still something he was looking into. He wasn't royalty himself, but his family had been guardians for the royalty of the Kashi.

What he had been able to learn was his line and the Kashi originated long before even the Jedi. That was something interesting indeed to her mind.

"Ronin, I do not stick to the light or the dark. Instead I am myself. A mix of both and I think that might be what you are as well. Somebody who walks the line between the two and touches both. A step one way or another and...well, I'm sure you can imagine. So is it our job to keep the balance?"

He said he was at a loss to understand she held a hand out to him.

"You need help with something?"

It was then as the two conversed that seem in what brief moment he couldn't help but let his thought wander. Between the here and now to somewhere or something else entirely thought he somehow kept the presence of mind to voice out to her a seem coherent enough reply. Confide in her what bit of insight or finding he had thus far.

"Ronin, I do not stick to the light or the dark. Instead, I am myself. A mix of both and I think that might be what you are as well. Somebody who walks the line between the two and touches both. A step one way or another and...well, I'm sure you can imagine. So is it our job to keep the balance?"

Here her words out left Ronin at the very least time to ponder and somewhat hope to put in perspective the action thus far of late that. Something which for once sent a faint sliver of fear in his once steadfast mind. As his gaze then turn passingly glance over the young youth that now sat seem oblivious to the going on that part of him could help but wish it could be so with him to at that moment. As melancholy as it was perhaps foolish he thought to himself in silence... what's done is done and no amount of wishful thinking could undo it. That somehow....this seem not been lost on her as thru faint tendrils stem from the connection they now shared as brethren that she then came forth reach over. Place her hand onto his as she spoke.

"You need help with something?"

At which time he then turns his gaze back at her speak.

" I...i don't know but then again your presence along means more to me now than you'll ever imagine. For as time passes so too seem the flicker of light...that I find myself seen shadows where I once did not. That more and more it calls to me...sweet whispers at first that I thought could be strong enought to keep at bay but ..... * sigh* as time passes I don't know if I am really? For if what heard in passing about the Elder is true then what chance do I to escape the fates.....to not abandon this existence for another. Passing thru the planes of my forebearer and cross back to my duties to the order is nothing less than exhausting as much as it is becoming far more difficult each time.

As more and more find myself wanting but failing.....in that as much my heart wish to do right that is forced to do quite the opposite. That it left me much to doubt? Question? Everything and nothing of what these past few years had been....was it for not? Was she right in saying there is no dark or light just point of view seen thru fate jaded mirrors?"

"You and I are of different blood, but yet we are brother and sister. Never forget that, Ronin."

Maybe she was the light to his darkness. More and more, Jairdain had been leaning to the light and Ronin going dark. Together they balanced each other and she held a hand out to him. Her son looked up from his eating and giggled slightly. He might not understand what exactly was going on, but it seemed he had a better idea than they gave him credit for.

"What is forcing you to do anything against what your heart tells you, brother?"

He did not know what all had happened in her life as she had kept it from pretty much everybody. Only one person other than her really knew what had happened in its entirety. If he accepted her hand, then he would know everything. It wasn't she even did it on purpose. Because of their connection through the Force and adoption that he learned.

Her nights of passion and days of darkness, just wanting to escape the pain of her life. The desire to fill the emptiness that was her until she met Solan. He was an anchor in her life, yet even now they were separate and Jairdain was again with Yuroic. They had plans now to be together and nothing barring death was going to change that.

It then seemed as if sensing the faint longing and question lingering in him for however much he'd tried to put up a brave front that it had been all for not. For in her presence and thru the faint underlying current that flows ever so freely between them since their return following the ritual of the blood oath. That she could seem somehow see thru him thought one might think she could not given her physical blindness.

"You and I are of different blood, but yet we are brother and sister. Never forget that, Ronin."

She then spoke to him and as she held her hand out to him that he seems instinctively reach out pausing but briefluy midway when from the corner of his sight hear the giggling and eyes peer back at him come from her son. That he then spoke with is hand holding back mind lost in thought.

" I do its just..."

It was then perhaps thru her words that follow that he slowly began to relax enough to push back the invisible walls he so kept himself in thus far.

"What is forcing you to do anything against what your heart tells you, brother?"

And at that moment as his hand reach out for her as he felt an unexpected pull that he spoke.

"That just it....there is none that I see force me but still I find myself defying that which I know...."

It was then in a flash it came if but like flash glimpse at first to an all-out vision of or about her...Of things from her past....both the struggles as well the faint triumph that no sooner were seem to squander by an unexpected twist in events that no less seem right itself soon after in a manner of speaking. And seem in the same token she no less saw thru him as well....thru the trial and tribulation of his youth loss as an orphan...to his then eventual finding then tumultuous starts as a Jedi under his first Master. For Whos subsequent death no less scar him so as such that it lead him to the murky path soon after. Becoming so unruly belligerent and questioning of all manner of authority that so few Master seem able to keep him in check. As such despite all manner of misgiving he had of volunteering to the next mission that soon after led to the lost years as he came to know it. And with it a stigma or emptiness he felt soon after.

"...It almost seems however much I try that I find it harder and harder to stay. Knowing all too well the truth that lay dormant yet unexplored within the text I had just recently come across. Speak of a plan of existence that unlike any I've known or read of....that which was either of darkness or light. So many seem have sought it yet so few return ....something which I've asked of the Elder and got no reply back last we've met. And try as I would have been all but unbearable frustrating me to no end that instead of discouraging me it no less fuel me pursue it. Cause me to realize in a way one truth that I had so long denied facing...that which the deep-seated loneliness of my own existence. Where it seems you are most fortunate to find a home along with something to ground you to this life. Whereas I have not.,..that I fear what the future knowing what if any truth these past few season away had shown"

His mind lost in thought as if still unable process the images lurking beneath surface.

His sister and friend listened to what he had to say. She sat there just offering him help and support while her son, his nephew entertained himself for the time being. For once Marcus was quiet and just ate his food. As if he sensed this was an important conversation to not disturb.

What Jairdain had been through before and after meeting Ronin was shared with him, though he already knew some of it. His own life was shared with her and it brought to each of them even more understanding of the other. If there was a concern that Jairdain wouldn't continue to accept Ronin, that would be laid to rest now. She still accepted and cared for him.

Listening to his words, her eyebrows came together slightly and she nodded slowly.

"I am not sure I can help keep you grounded here, but I can help you with that search. Something with no light or dark would not seek to destroy or hurt you, so it would be safe to attempt to acquire if you wish."

The first words she said were the most difficult, but the last were not. Ronin would have her support as she was able to give it and help him search.

It was then at that moment while he converse with her in a level or sense he felt had never had with anyone for a very long time. That is perhaps aside that brief moment in time as it seem he'd spent with his first Master. She who for the life of him had felt so in debt to as being the one that saved him as much as one could believe it so. Having come at seem the very nick of time when he all but being no younger or older that her child who now sat quietly on the wayside. Eating and appear to in some level understand in his own way the importance of their conversation as to not disturb them at that moment.

Where in thru perhaps thru their unspoken bond of kinship brought about by the blood oath they took or what not. That they saw thru the other....that is really saw thru past the veil of time and space in order seem gain a much deeper understanding of each other. As such as much he had been seem fortunate or privileged to see thing thru her own eye rather that be told of her own life. Of both the good and bad....experiences as well events that both shaped as much as mold her in a way as she carved her own path thru this life. That he in turn seem did the same afford her the same courtesy share with her his own life as it were. Gaining for the other a much deeper and more truest sense of understanding of each other. That for a moment Ronin could help but slightly shy away as faint concern past his thought when it came to the more concerning part of the memories of late. Where all was reveal to her in regards to what he'd been up to these recent times. When he truly struggled with come to term with not only the truth but realities they entail.....as the thought cross his mind faint as it was seem of would she ever continue to accept him or care? Now that she knew of not only the truth... good he done but the flip side of it as well. When as much the Jedi preached redemption and offering one the choice towards the light. That at time he did not as slowly but surely his path took him to far different route where thought he had been tempted by the darkness. He somehow manage to barely hang on....thought not fully of the light finding himself drawn to the shadows.

At which time she then seem prove to lay to rest the doubt he head as she came to still stay with him. Accepting as much as care for him so one would without shadow of a doubt that it came to no less comfort him so to stay belay the faint remaining doubts in his mind as she then came forth speak.

"I am not sure I can help keep you grounded here, but I can help you with that search. Something with no light or dark would not seek to destroy or hurt you, so it would be safe to attempt to acquire if you wish."

It was then that with faint gentle grin on his face that he then lay one hand over hers as he spoke.

"It's alright ...and believe me you help me much more that you'll understand. By just being here and share this brief moment with me as it give me realize....face that which i fear....and for once not only know but believer that which need be done. It may be hard.....rough with pain as uncertainty of what lies ahead.

And i do not wish for you worry nor fear for me...as i feel where ever it is that this path take me it would be alright. That however much it pain me or that i wish where i go next from here....i must do on my own for where i go i don't know if you can. For i don't know how long it would take and at the very least i do not wish for either you nor your son to part. He need you more and don't worry..."

He then reaches over and let the palm of his right hand brush against her cheeks.

"...Whatever happens i won't be far and all you need is ask. And i'll be with you ....at any rate guess that be it for all that and best we get have bit of fun instead. Seeing its been a while since we've last met and with all this time of traveling. ....i still want catch up and spend some time just hang out with you two for a change."
