SETTING INFORMATION
  • City Name: Sunvale
  • Classification: City, Farming Settlement
  • Location: Deorus
  • Affiliation: Alorith Greysteel
  • Population: Sparse
  • Demographics: Sunvale is made up primarily of Deorus natives, located primarily in a rural clustering of houses in the middle of the city. Only a few thousand people live here, despite its status as the capital of the planet, and it is too far away from the industrial or travel centers of the major cities to have a significant immigrated population.
  • Wealth: Low
    • The population of Sunvale are primarily farmers, living day to day and trading their crops for other resources they need. By and large, money holds little sway over civilian life on Deorus, and wealth is only held by a select few in the upper nobility.
  • Stability: High
    • As the capital of the planet, Sunvale is home to the home of the Greysteels, the Lords of the Sunvale and planet. This close proximity to the throne of the planet itself keeps most people rather subdued, and the presence of the House Guard ensures that few openly express any dissent they might be feeling.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Citizens are able to move freely into and out of Sunvale as they choose. Their are no censors on speech in the capital city, and law enforcement only takes action against criminals of a certain category. For the most part, the Sunvale regulates itself, and due to its rather small population everyone knows everyone. Even the Greysteels do not seek to press down on the people below their hill keep, and only even act in their peoples best interest.
  • Description: Sunvale is a city built across several geographical layers. Five distinct wall sections are visible for the city, each one built from white marble and sculpted to follow the natural landscape rather than obstruct it. Each wall section serves as a dam as well, holding in small lakes to be used for agricultural purposes. This focuses on several dozen small farming settlement clusters spread out across the various wall levels, though the largest is located just beneath the home of the Greysteels. Located at the upper most part of the city, two large bastions stand proudly. Connected by a north and south running wall, these two bastions serves as the civilian and military capitals of the planet. The Lord of the Sunvale, currently Alorith Greysteel, journeys between the two bastions depending on what matters are of interest that day.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Hall of War: Located at the northern most point of the city, the Hall of War serves as the military capital for all of Deorus. Here, the Lord of Sunvale oversees the military defense of the planet, the training of its armies, and the deployment of its forces beyond the borders of their star system should they be needed. The Hall of War also serves as the command post for the House Guard, the personal protectors and vanguard for the Greysteels.
  • Hall of Unity: The Hall of Unity serves as the governmental capital of Deorus. Matters of agriculture, industry, trade and even religious events are discussed and voted upon within its halls. Situated on the southern most point of Sunvale, the Hall of Unity overlooks the largest of the man made lakes that distinguish Sunvale. Within its halls as well are located the quarters of those Jedi who come to Deorus, either as temporary guests or long term residents.
  • Market Square: The largest of the spread out farming clusters in the city, the Market Square serves as a key point of barter and exchange. Various agricultural goods are exchanged here, tools bought or sold, and general gatherings to discuss current events are held. Several taverns are dotted across the Market Square, and it is a regular thing to see House Guard and civilians sharing pints together. The Market Square is also the only location that has a landing pad in the entire city, something even the two halls do not have.

SECURITY
[ Provide a Security Rating (choose from: None, Low, Medium, High, Maximum) and any specific security assets in list format. What defenses does this location have, including internal and perimeter defenses? Please note that the rating is relative to the type of location this is. Normal civilian locations have a different scope in security, compared to military locations. As such a primarily civilian location with a Maximum security rating is not on the same level as a military base with a Maximum rating. Consider the ‘Stability’ and ‘Freedom and Oppression’ fields when working on this section, and make sure these reflect each other in your final submission. Please link rare or uncommon tech/equipment to the SW wiki article or Factory-approved submission. Common canon items do not need to be linked. ]

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ Include a description on the city's history here. Detail how it came to be created and why. Talk about the people involved in this city's history and expansion; and what role it played and still plays. For historical cities, if you so desire, you can include events from the Chaos Canon timeline or board history where appropriate. ]
