DESCRIPTION

While great efforts were going into developing new systems to counter the onslaught of the Bryn'adal, there was also parallel research into other systems against more traditional opponents such as the Sith. One area of concern was the massive armadas they were always able to bring to bear during assaults. A new system was called for to counter their numerical advantage by degrading enemy sublight mobility.

Usually this was done by the use of mines, but those could take time to set up, almost impossible to do in the middle of a battle underway. The Concord military desired a system that could be rapidly deployed by a quick reaction force on a system-wide scale.

KSA devised a system that could exploit the mechanics of inertial compensators, calling it the Inertial Pulse Generator. For development they studied the inertial boosting effects of the power sword Avalanche, upscaling the effect to a massive level with the thanks of refined Isotope-5 and its peculiar gravity warping effects. Like Avalanche, the fields produced by actually increase the effects of inertia rather than dampening, resulting in much greater G-force that can damage a craft and its occupants. For unprotected vehicles and individuals without compensators, this is likely a death sentence. Even small craft equipped with inertial dampeners may find themselves quickly drained of power as they struggle to compensate.

Noting the way that inertial dampeners had overcompensate, a new tactic was devised, using sudden intermittent pulse to initially boost acceleration for a few nanoseconds. Repeating the process in random intervals, researchers found some vehicles sheering themselves apart as they were boosting their own acceleration with no counteracting effect from the generator.

Additional tactics were observed, like the ability to increase the destructive output of kinetic weapon, though this could become a double edge sword after simulated opposition could make use of this exploit as well.

While an immensely power system, deployment of the Inertial Post Generator has been delayed until an adequate host vehicle can be produced to meet its insane power demand and also afford it with fine control over vectors and areas.
