Laphisto arrived at the meeting ground where Master
Jonyna Si
had summoned him, his tail flicking idly as he strode across the coarse sand. He was, admittedly, surprised when the Jedi Master had proposed a duel as a test of merit—but the boldness of the gesture had earned his respect.
As he approached, Laphisto stopped five meters from her, bringing a closed fist to his chest with a firm thud before offering a respectful bow "Master Jedi," he greeted.
He had come largely alone, save for Commander
Tarian -his Force-dead right hand- and five members of his High Guard. Though he hardly required the escort, their presence was symbolic. The leader of the guards had made it clear he wouldn't miss this 'show' even if he were stripped of arms and legs."
I thank you for your swift reply to my request, for a meeting. It is in the name of the Diarchy that I extend this olive branch to the Galactic Alliance. I am ready to proceed when you are."
With that, Laphisto reached to his side, unholstering the
LO-22S and handing it to Tarian, who accepted it silently and stepped back. Then, with a fluid motion, Laphisto drew the Broad Saber from his waist, igniting the blade with a low hum. A taloned finger adjusted the emitter settings, shifting it to a non-lethal frequency, not unlike that of a practice saber.
Taking a measured breath, Laphisto stepped forward, planting his right leg firmly behind of his left. The
Broad Saber angled downward diagonally, the tip aimed slightly toward the ground while the hilt remained close to his torso, much like a modified Shii-Cho opening stance. His grip was steady but relaxed, the weapon held in both hands, poised to rise into offense or sweep into defense with equal ease.
His posture mirrored a blend of traditional and adapted techniques the basic power of Shii-Cho layered with the patience of a seasoned warrior who had long since made the form his own. His tail remained low, steady behind him as his hetrochromatic eyes remained fixed on the Jedi Master, ready for her move. and with a flash of teal he pushed the force into his gaze using his force sight to better see the Jedi master
The Lilaste Order troops stood nearby, vigilant not out of mistrust for the Jedi Master, but in defiance of Laphisto's own orders. Against his better judgment, they had insisted on accompanying him, citing both their desire to witness their Commander's duel firsthand and the belief that the head of the Order couldn't simply wander the galaxy unguarded.
