"Grisial! What did you do this time!?" Dreidi growled as the dashboard flashed red with warning. Something was wrong with the ship as a malfunction occurred.

It had to be the Vulptex causing mischief or accidentally tapping randomly at buttons. He was clearly at fault mostly because his body language was showing signs of guilt. Curling his tail around him and the sad eyes all big and wide, though his head lowered in a submissive manner. It was hard to be too angry at him for this but it meant that she needed to find a repair yard nearby since the red flashing was not a good sign. Something was damaged in the hyperdrive from what Dreidi could tell.

"Damn. Nearest place is freaking Nal Hutta. I hate visiting there. Clothes are gunna stink for days!" Dreidi moaned deeply as she huffed deeply as she looked at Grisial once again, "you are in big trouble, mister!"

Muting the alarm, she drove the ship to Nal Hutta, Dreidi assessed the repair yard, it was not something she recognised but it seemed like it would get the job done. Sketchy is the default aesthetic of Nal Hutta so it was hard for her to assess which yard would be more reputable. Landing in the yard, Dreidi adjusted her equipment to her to ensure they could not be stolen and tied her hair behind her, looking around the yard as she stepped off the ramp. She needed to find a mechanic and get them to work on the ship, she didn't think about finding the owner of the yard since they would not know what the issue could be and would just be seeking to charge her too much from the jump. Dreidi was frugal with money and wasn't going to just pay for nothing.

Hohun looked into the sky as the ship began to make its descent onto the landing platform, kicking up dust and debris as the thrusters powered up to slow the ship to a halt. The acrid smell of burning fuel mixed with the natural stench of Nal Hutta, a planet notorious for its swamps and criminal activity, overpowered the senses. As the ship settled, Hohun grabbed his toolkit and wiped the sweat from his brow, ready to get to work.

The landing platform, surrounded by a series of shabby, makeshift buildings, was bustling with activity. Mechanics and workers moved about, tending to several ships in various states of disrepair while overseers kept a watchful eye on the slave workers. Hohun made his way towards the newly arrived vessel, awaiting the owner to disembark.

"What seems to be the problem?" He questioned, wanting to identify what needed to be fixed as quickly as possible. Time was credits here, and the overseers didn't like to see their workers slacking off.

Dreidi noted the mechanic that came over to her, "Hi. There is some issue with the Hyperdrive. Not sure what happened but it isn't working and had a load of flashing lights when attempting to use it."

She provided the information that she knew about the issue and Grisial just sat his butt down and watched the pair. Tilting his head curiously as he just watched them interact. He did not attempt to speak with the mechanic since he doubted there was anyone here with Force Sensitivity. Dreidi crossed her arms and looked around, she could sense the tension in the air about the overseers and the notion that many workers here were very likely slaves prickled her. Her own father had once been a slave and she knew they never lived good lives. Especially Hutt slaves.

"How much is this going to cost?" Dreidi asked in a calm tone. Keeping an eye out for any trouble that might attempt be stirred around. "If you need me to help with anything, let me know. I am not the best with ship tech but good at giving a helping hand."

As Dreidi left the ship, he couldn't help but look a little surprised at his appearance and that of her companion pet. Hutt space was filled with a whole manner of unique individuals, but for Hohun at least, she was far from his usual clientele. He listened closely as the Jedi Witch began to explain seemed to be the issue with the vessel, nodding here and there as she explained the issue. "I'll take a look at the hyperdrive right away, see if we can get it fixed and you on your way soon."

The Sullustan seemed eager to take a look at the issue and begin working on it as soon as possible. After all, time was credits to the people here. Making his way to the hyperdrive, he began inspecting it, speaking with the woman who no doubt watched on from nearby. "Looks like your Flux capacitor connector has shorted. This'll take some time to fix and a fair amount of credits. If you're happy for the work to be done, I'll remove the hyperdrive from the ship so I can begin fixing it up." The youth didn't respond to her final question about offering help, choosing to rather work alone. As a customer, he wouldn't expect her to pitch in with the work only if for the reason that the amount of credit's they'd receive would be less.

Watching the mechanic get to work, she sighed when it was mentioned that the repair would cost a fair amount of credits. That was not ideal to hear. "Is there not a temporary solution? I just might be able to get it fixed in the Galactic Alliance territory for a lower cost." She knew there would be mechanics and engineers who were also Jedi that were likely to charge a lot less than she was going to cough up here.

While she was not a poor person, saving unnecessary costs would be greatly appreciated. "I get that you have to charge a certain amount due to the Hutts or whoever owns this place. But I am not one for funding a slavery operation." Dreidi stated, she did not wish to encourage slavery, if anything, she would prefer tearing this place down and let those who profited from the slavery to rot.

"How did you end up working here?" Dreidi asked, curious about this mechanic's circumstances.

Hohun furrowed his brows a little at the mention of a temporary solution, while possible it was not ideal for either of them - there was the added risk of suddenly dropping out of hyperspace, and more importantly fewer credits made on his end. "I could put in some kind of temporary fix, enough to get to wherever it is you are heading. But no guarantee your ship won't drop out of hyperspace in the middle of nowhere, leaving you stranded."

He began to get to work removing the hyperdrive from the chassis of the vessel, needing to remove it from the ship to get better access to repair the damaged area - even for a temporary fix. As he worked he responded to the inquisitive woman. "I've been working here for as long as I can remember. I was born on Nal Hutta, born into this life. One day, once I've saved up enough I'll buy my way out and get off this planet, bring my family along too." He continued tinkering away at the hyperdrive, slowly removing the connectors which held it in place, various wiring and other components so he could better access the component.

Nodding her head, "it would only need to get to Corellia or Kashyyyk. Unfortunately, they have a better rep than Nal Hutta, and I would rather avoid furthering slavery." The temporary fix did not sound guaranteed to work but it was a better option than being stuck on the current world she was on. "I don't mean to short change you, I wish there was a way to end the slavery going on here that wasn't violent." Dreidi knew she could simply cut the head of the slaver, break the chains of the slaves and take them wherever they wished to be. But that only solved the issue here and it would only create tyrants and crueller slaves who hid in the shadows.

It was a systemic change in the galaxy that needed to happen. One that broke the wheel and created a new and more positive outcome. That was the dream but it was something that she knew was also far from working right now.

Hearing of his life, "well, how much do you need to get you and your family away from here?" Dreidi was curious, "do you think you would be able to get the money to do it? I just know slavers can be tricky and create new goalposts for people when they think they are too close to achieving freedom." It was a pessimistic outlook but Dreidi was also attempting to be practical. Perhaps there was a chance to save this one person. Maybe save his family too.
