Svalinn manifested as a round shield.​

• Shield talisman

Strengths:
• Versatile. The shielding crystal allows the field produced to be manifested as appropriate to the occasion, from a lightshield buckler to a complete protection bubble. The larger the surface area, the greater the drain upon the wearer (see "Life Draining")
• Light Weight. And fashionable!
• Calming. The Force imbuement on the leather helps to protect the mind of the wearer from the Dark Side of the Force.

Weaknesses:
• Requires the Force. Does not work around Ysalmiri or other areas with Force cancelling properties.
• Restricted to the Light Side of the Force. While the Force ability of Protection Bubble is not restricted to Jedi only, the Force imbuement on the leather leaves a lightside 'enchantment' upon the piece. Dark side wielders would feel a mild irritation at use, which could result in a rash if worn. The shielding crystals could be used, but would have to be separated from the leather binding.
• Life Draining. Producing the shield requires the user provide the Force energy empowering the shield crystals. The larger the shield, and/or the greater the force acting upon it, the more strain on the wielder to maintain or sustain the shield.

Description: The third successful 'master work' of budding Jedi Artisan [member="Kiriko"] Howlingfjord, Svalinn is - in all truth - a very simple piece. Weaving Force imbuement of the leather strands using rudimentary Jal Shey techniques, the bracelet derives most of its properties from the incorporation of Sasori Shielding Crystals in the design. The shield produced by the talisman may be a round shield, measuring from as small as 0.3 meters in diameter to as large as 1.3 meters in diameter, or as a bubble encompassing an area centered around the wearer. In every instance, the larger the shield, the greater the drain upon the wielder. Management of the Force drain effect upon the wearer can be improved through training and practice, requiring a good amount of training in order to be useful in combat situations without exhausting the wielding or forcing them to succumb to fatigue. Even with training, sustaining any shield for a prolonged period of time is likely to exhaust the wearer. The Shielding Crystals used in the piece all exhibit the appearance of rose quartz. As such, all manifestations of Svalinn are notably pink in color.

well quality wise it is hard cause a light shield deflected lightsabers and energy shots. Better in most cases then heavy armor given it didn't melt. So Nico's saber gauntlets with built in lightshield are class 10
