Description: Despite being sold by both Ri'ess Regal Drives and Subach-Innes, the SW1-Series AstroMech Droid was almost entirely designed by Mirage Cybernetics Company. The intent of the droid's development was quite simply to capitalize on an unclaimed market for modern astromechs as well as provide the galaxy with a modern standard to ease the duties of pilots and freighters everywhere.

Unique to the SW brand of AMD's is the incorporation of Adamithium armor plating covering its exterior. This allows the astromech an unparalleled level of defense against blasters and energy weapons, making it ideal for use in starfighters, bombers and exposed-dock attack craft. While a whole fifty percent more resistant to energy weapon attacks than its durasteel counterparts, its armor is also up to fifty percent weaker to physical and ballistic damage. While there is still a bronzium shell under the armor plating, entire bulk pieces of the armor would have to be removed and replaced if damage occurs, as Adamithium itself cannot be reforged, making maintenance of the droid for such roles both costly and time-consuming.

Another unique feature is the abandonment of a monocular lens optic in lieu of a series of small diodes in an array pattern around the front of the droid's head. This allows it near-perfect panoramic vision up to 180 degrees wide while still allowing it to focus in on a more narrow field of vision for greater range and accuracy. It is also capable of depth perception, as installed in its new droid brain. As a side-effect, they can interface with weapons with a greater degree of accuracy and prediction than their predecessors and competitors.

  • http://starwarsrp.net/topic/22216-adamithium/ - There is one catch, however. The Adamithium piece, once the titanium is added and thoroughly mixed in, will cool approximately thirty minutes afterwards. And once it's cast in the mold, that's it. There's no reshaping it. If the piece was flawed in production, it cannot be melted back down - temperatures significantly higher than those used to weld and repair duranium are needed to reforge or repair the piece.

  • Please change your modularity to limited only with the complete removal of the Adamithium plates, due to the Adamithium Armor Plating. Otherwise, no modularity if they want to keep those armor plates.
