Switching To A Forcer.

Yeah... you read that right.

It hit me one fateful night and I decided that I want to take Leo down a force using path after having him not use the force from the beginning of his creation. I know this can be considered a big no-no both in writing and star wars lore, but is there any excuse that could possibly explain why both Leo and those around him, especially other forcers, wouldn't have realised his force capabilities? Or have I just left it too late and there is nothing to be done?

If going by the movies, Luke Skywalker was 19 before he was informed that he was force sensitive.

From what I can find, Rey was also the same age.

Though there were special circumstances around them both, your biography is telling me your character is 24, thus I don't think it's too much of a leap to believe he went a few more years than they did before discovering the a connection to the Force. Neither Luke nor Rey had any idea they were sensitive to it until they were shown the way and I'm going to go out of my way and assume that due to people identifying your character as a proposed NFU, they wouldn't have tried to look for signs of force sensitivity in him ? I could well be mistaken, I've not had the pleasure, myself.

If that is the route you want to go, and one that you'd enjoy, I say go for it.

Luke, yes, Rey...doubtful! Evidence is strongly pointing to her having received training before.

Anyway, [member="Leo Vandermolen"], there's absolutely nothing wrong with becoming a Force Sensitive - as Veiere says, you could well have been and just not known about it. Your character needs something of a 'jump start' to make that realisation, but there's nothing wrong with your plan!

Well due to the lack of prior realisation or training, a sudden, anomalous burst of force powers in a time of dire need would be awesome. I'm a sucker for 'movie moments.' Cliche, I know, but something along the lines of that to get Leo started is basically what I'm aiming for.

[member="Leo Vandermolen"] There are tons of ways to get the latent Force-sensitivity to get out: it has to make sense given the skills, strengths (and possibly weaknesses) Leo possesses. Perhaps you may have been using Force-speed/jump without knowing it, or maybe even Force-cloak.

*Grumbles about him switching to being a force user after being NFU for so long*

Just do it gradually. James did this and for a long time I called it "Latent" and "Untrained" as he gradually just learned by literally building it through pretty much every thread he is in. His skills are eclectic and not that awesome but he's damn good at what he does if I do say so myself.
