Sword in The Stone

Dantooine, a planet of the once great Jedi Enclave. Many powerful figures have marched across these grounds, and the planet had seen it's fair share of horrors. Atrocities that not even Xion could find the power to speak of. The once great Jedi Enclave was no more. Just piles of rubble upon the planet. At one point it had been a beautiful planet. Protected by the jedi, where the animals roamed free and the citizens could live freely.

Then a jedi turned sith came back and destroyed the enclave. Completely merciless to the ones that at one point had been ones he fought alongside and had trained him. Just the thoughts of such a thing brought a pain to Xion's heart. Then even worse the Vong had came and slaughtered the innocents that had been on the planet. They had homes, families, but the Vong didn't care. Their xenophobic ways and fear of technology drove them to commit horrible attrocities, and even now hundreds of years after the fact Xion still felt a heavy weight on his heart.

The headmaster of the Dantooine enclave, out for a nice morning walk, stumbled across a youngish man with reddish hair.

"Morning, friend," he called out with a wave. "You look lost; can I help you?"

Dantooine was, frankly, beautiful; the Vong depredations had been eight centuries ago, and the enclave had been rebuilt long ago. Oh, scars still decorated the earth, but even the most brutal impact craters had long since become small meadows, soft-edged hollows, and flower-strewn gullies. The Dantooine enclave had been rebuilt centuries ago, and though it wasn't in the best of repair, as minor Jedi training sites went it was something special, if Shule did say so himself.

Given her recent acknowledgement of the force Vassara was not very powerful, nor did she possess a lightsaber. What she did posses was an instinct, a gut feeling that told her where to be and when to be there. After a long flight she had been drawn to Dantooine, by some unknown force.

As she an Silas walked the tall grass of the fields, he grumbled even more than normal.

"When we stopping at the tavern, I need a drink!"

Vassara ignored him, revelling in the beauty of the meadows. Wide open skies and the musty scent of the various flowers and wet dew upon the grass thrust it's way into her nostrils. Normally she preferred space, preferred solitude. But it was beautiful here and she felt something else. For a long time she hadn't felt it. Tranquillity.

"Relax Silas, we can get drunk later, I want to explore a little more..."

Jaster hated being on planets but what could he do, this planet had datacrons on healing technics that they could use. From what infermation he could gather the local temple was abandoned. There and the surrounding areas is were he and his men would search. The base had been set up in a secreat location away from the local goverment to keep the artifacts secreated from the Jedi and Sith. The troopers had chamged into civilian cloths and smuggler get up. Transports were already landed and covered to better conceal this.

They were traveling in a small caravan of 40 people with speeder bikes and land transports along with construction drones and mining droids. "Sir, there are occupants at the temple." Said one of the men.

Jaster didn't like that, maybe the information from the Pirates were wrong. "Proceed with the plan and cover if they are officials of the planet."

Xion had thought that the enclave would still be in shambles and that the land would still be ravaged but what he saw was shocking. He hadn't expected for the planet to have returned to some form of normalcy. Though he still felt as though the atrocities that had taken place would never be forgotten. Having his concentration broken by a voice Xion turned his head in the direction it had came from. He didn't need to but it often had a lasting effect when people looked into the empty sockets of a miraluka.

"Sorry I was just admiring the enclave. I thought it had been destroyed and came to learn more about it, maybe even explore the wilds and connect with nature. I had absolutely no clue one such as yourself would be here. But I am glad to see a jedi, or at least someone as powerful in the force such as yourself protecting this planet." Xion said with a smile seeing the bright light being cast off by Shule. He was strong in the force as well as aligned with the light, something Xion appreciated.

"Dantooine's a good place for all of that, though I'm a little biased. I'm Jedi Master Shule Windspeaker -- I'm the housemaster of the enclave. We're a smaller training centre, peripheral; we tend to focus on remoteness and obscurity for our safety. We have guest rooms, if you'd like to stay with us for a while and see how we train. Mainly we focus on the lightsabre and on learning to feel the Force, not just use it. Sense powers, some call them."

He frowned. "Speaking of which...my gut says something's up, off in that direction." He squinted out over the plains at what looked like a convoy. "Do you know how to use the Force to enhance your eyesight temporarily? Useful apprentice-level skill; I still use it all the time."

The wind picked up waving the grass field like oceans of a distant world. Vassaras sense prickled too. There was someone or something searching for her. she could feel the whisper of the grass and the earth. Something she had never felt before and jumped up, startled.

"What is it?"

Vassaras eyes narrowed, searching the horizon.

"There's others here. Some one is looking for us."

Silas pumped his shotgun once, rapidly loading a shell.

"Excellent, time to make some loot!"

"No Silas, it's no menacing, its..... Curious."

Silas raised an eyebrow.

"Come on this way."

"How do you know?" He asked gruffly.

"I just....do."

She whirled now, stepping lightly through the tall grasses, making her way towards where she felt the forces call. Towards Shule and Xion.

Stepping out of my silver-and-electrum ship, I glared at the two Lightsiders as much as a droid's eyes could glare. One of them, at least, was my new ally Xion something-or-other. The blonde one, though... He looked dangerous. My Force radar was pinging all over the place from this guy's power. There was nothing to suggest that I was anything but a roguishly dressed rich guy, except for my red eyes.

But there was something else... Something really sinister. Like, I was in danger. I stood up in the saddle on my Nexu's back, and looked around. Even with Force Sight, there was only the two Jedi, and a couple of kids with guns walking towards them... But there was a disturbance. What the hell was going on?

"It's a honor to meet you Master Thule, and I would love to take you up on your offer. I think what I need is a change of scenery for a bit." Xion said bowing to the master and showing his respects but at the same time he felt a cold shiver retreat down his spine and felt a sense of urgency. As though the force was warning him about an incoming danger. Head raising he listened further to what Thule had to say before turning towards the hill. Smiling at Shule's question Xion nodded his head. "Sir I was born blind. The Force is my sight."

Closing his eyes and dulling out the distractions of the people around him Xion opened himself to the living force. Dantooine had a different feel then Yavin or even Wayland though it had suffered just as many horrors. He let the force empower his force sight, being a Miraluka had it's perks. Using Force Sight all their lives left them with a deeper connection then most and when being empowered by the force the results could be astonishing. Xion saw the small caravan and felt their presences. Retreating back to himself and cutting the connection Xion sighed. "All I see at the moment are forty humanoids, and some droids, and speeders." He warned eyeing the hill.

Jaster didn't like this.... He could feel the pressure of the force. No Jaster didnt have force senses, true enough, but he was always around Jedi healers and Sith Firers. He knew a Jedi and a Sith when he saw them, he wasn't dumb. He walked up to the conclave where the two Jedi were speaking, left his men with the transports and only brought the men without the guns. 'Jedi don't kill those who don't pose a threat.' Jaster wanted to believe, but the galaxy was in a weird spot now a days.

Not hearing the two Jedi introduce each other as Jedi headmaster he walked up to the two speaking. "Hello sir, we are travelers from the planet Monestary," Jaster wasnt lieing, he and his men were traveling from that planet, "we are in search of holocrons and data about previous healing technics used by Jedi on this planet, could you point us to the direction of the jedi ruins please?"

Jasters men were far enough that they could protect them selfs, but Jaster himself was too close to react if the Jedi were to attack.

Roshim breathed in heavily, taking in the sweet and cool air that was Dantooine. What a wonderful place this was, a jewel in the galaxy. Although, the large Cathar's opinion was slightly biased from being stuck on Tatooine for weeks, it wasn't such a bold claim. Hardly anyone ever mentioned this place, and the smugglers he was hitching a ride with thought they were marooning him here. Roshim was a Jedi, and once they found out, they wanted to get rid of him; but were too afraid to instigate an actual fight. It was for the best, in Roshim's mind, to leave before he witnessed them do something they shouldn't be doing. Low-life's they may be, but they had a certain charm to them that made it hard for the Cathar to alert the Republic. And, they were kind enough to get him off of that horrible planet known as Tatooine.

His peace was interrupted, as he sensed something far ahead. There was a disturbance in the Force here. Something was going on, or about to be. Something... dark. Something the young master-less Padawan couldn't ignore. So, he set off walking in the direction pulsating the sinister feeling of the Dark Side. He could feel strong Light-Siders as well, but knew that they too would follow the path he was following. He knew that the Force would lead them all to the same place at the right time, just like the old saying: Opposites attract.

I felt the Nexu balk at the proximity to the two men in front of me, Xion and the other Jedi. I leapt lightly down to the ground, and walked up to the pair of them, wondering what they were staring off into the distance at.

"Xion, it's very likely that we should get out of here. Fast. There's something..."

I saw the blonde man's face, and I mentally groaned. The Grandmaster, no less... Damn. And then I saw the dark-skinned man talking to him. I felt the overwhelming urge to choke the man and smash him into a wall.

"... wrong."

"Of course - that was thoughtless of me. My apologies."

He nodded at Xion's description of the main party. "Them and several stragglers or separate travelers. A pair of them is almost here...and a ship."

In short order a disparate group came together around Shule and Xion.

"Welcome to Dantooine," he said. "I'm Shule Windspeaker, housemaster of the Dantooine Jedi Enclave. I'm sorry to disappoint, but there are no Jedi ruins; the Dantooine Enclave was rebuilt. If you're looking for healing instruction, I'm afraid I'm not much of a healer, but I can direct you to those who are.

" And if any of you are here for violence," he added quietly, "I don't recommend it."

Leaving the rough-looking escape pod behind, Roshim made his way across the gentle hills and valleys of the plains. He welcomed the cool feeling of the soft grass on his bare feet. It was a nice change from the hot sand of the desert planet he previously wandered. The smugglers didn't happen upon this little-known and less-traveled planet by mere chance, Roshim knew this. He was meant to be here. The Force wills it.

Up ahead he spotted a group of people, diverse but all humanoids. They seemed to be talking. That was good, that foreboding feeling was a premonition. The trouble hasn't started yet. But that feeling... it had led him to these strangers. Roshim didn't know what to think about that. But, he had a part to play in all of this, he was sure of it. Quickening his pace, he sprinted towards the group, making sure that his hands were clearly visible. Making it to them, the large cat-like male introduced himself in his deep vibrato voice.

"Hello friends! Apologies for imposing, but do any of you feel that?" With that, he gestured past them, to the dark vibes reaching out from the distance. "I'm Roshim, by the way."

Vassara bowed to the group, sweeping her arm wide with a flourish. The breeze caught her coat making it flap like a cape behind her. The shotgun was still secure in its leather holster at her back, and she had the feeling she would not have to draw it today. In fact she had the feeling this was just where she belonged. This place had drawn her, and now she was beginning to figure out why.

Destiny.

"Well howdy everyone. I'm Vassara, and this is Silas."

She hooked her thumb back at Silas who gave a nod and a grunt.

"I was just exploring here and I was drawn to you folks. I think I'm beginning to understand why now. Is this a training site for Jedi arts?"

Jaster nodded at the Jedi master, "Sir, we are not here to harm anyone, I come from a place where we catalogs and teach the ways of healing to all forms of life." Jaster nodded at his men still unsteady about the Jedi noticing there weapons, "We request that I document and catalog your teachers and students in there art form of Jedi Healing, I must warn that my men do carry weapons in knowlage that this surrounding area would be filled with raiders," Jaster pulls out his blaster pistol holding it only with a single finger outside the trigger hole. "If you request that we leave our weapons outside I shall do so along with leavening some men outside to watch our weapons."

As was mendorian tradition he bowed slightly still keeping eye contact with the Jedi Master. He kept his arm with the gun extended to show he was still disarmed. He looked over his shoulder to Vassara and Silas, "Nice to see you two again." and smiled are them.
