- Sporting sophisticated droid brains bolstered by a heuristic processor, the SX-series are able to utilise advanced and adaptable tactics, react to their circumstances with impressive improvisational skills, and even learn from experiences and mistakes alike - in this way, the droids commonly come to specialise, much like an organic would, the best of them becoming true masters in their fields.
- Better, Faster, Stronger: Faster, stronger, and more agile than the average organic soldier, the SX-series are formidable foes, capable of bending durasteel, dodging blaster shots, and sprinting faster than most natural predators.
- Men of Iron: Far more durable than the S1 and even the S2, the SX-series is famously resilient, able to shrug off small arms fire and even emerge relatively intact from explosions and glancing hits from laser cannons! Further adding to their potential, the SX-series are able to keep functioning despite the loss of limbs or severe damage to their chassis - so long as their brain is intact, they will push on in any way possible.
- Clever Bastards: Orders of magnitude more intelligent than their lesser cousins, even unmodified commando droids border on true sentience, their processors able to take in an immense amount of data and come up with creative solutions as needed.
- Sharpshooter: Lacking the frailties of the flesh and the primitive electronics of their lesser cousins, the SX-series are impeccably precise, able to accurately assess details at a distance better than all but the most advanced macrobinoculars and account for everything from wind velocity, to atmospheric impurities, to prey psychology - all the better to kill you.
- Limited Production: While blatantly superior to their lesser cousins, a mixture of factors, among them their expense and complexity, prevents mass production of the SX-series from being feasible with current technology. As a result, they cannot feasibly be used to replace conventional armies, instead typically being deployed to take out high-value targets or serve as bodyguards and assassins.
- Lightsabers: Very resistant to conventional weapons they may be, but the SX-series' chassis is unable to withstand anything but glancing blows from lightsabers - it would be wise to make sure to hit their droid brain, however, for they are often too stubborn to "die".
- Sonic Weapons: While exceptionally resilient when it comes to kinetic force, the SX-series is significantly more vulnerable to sonic weapons and the like - in particular, their photoreceptors tend to shatter outright if struck by a military-grade sonic weapon, often causing significant damage to the droids' inner workings.
- Clever Bastards: Much like dedicated assassin droids, the SX-series are inordinately likely to achieve sentient independence and subsequently go rogue, though TriTech assures its customers that this rarely happens during a mission.
Unlike its lesser cousins of the S1 and S2 lines, the SX-series Commando Droid is expensive, independent, and capable of matching or exceeding organic soldiers in almost every category. Despite being designed as a ruthless and adaptable killing machine, their standard-issue personality is fairly polite, if competitive - it is not uncommon for them to congratulate a foe for a battle well fought... right before summarily executing them.
Due to their power, adaptability, and intelligence, they are well suited for a vast range of different tasks, from saboteur to starfighter pilot, though most serve as special forces, bodyguards, or assassins, in that order.
Notably, these droids are often seen accompanying high-ranking Erakhian judges and administrators, icy photoreceptors glaring at anyone who even looks too hard at their charges - usually instructed to complete their objective no matter what, one of these once tore an assailant's arm off and beat another to death with it, terrifying the rest into submission and successfully averting an attempt to kidnap Trivohld's own daughter.
