OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Resubbing a previously approved brain-machine interface and making naming or adjustments to the history where necessary, it's pretty much identical in feature and functionality as the original submission is my work as the original faction it was created for probably isn't going to see much or anything in the way of writing.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Data-crystal chip port
  • Tracking (telemetry) data transmissions/reception
  • Machine interface
  • Sub-dermal implantation
STRENGTHS
  • Tracking data: Implantation with the Synthesis brain-machine interfaces allows friendly forces to track those so-equipped which is useful for troop movement coordination, tracking and identification. It's also extremely useful for liberating friendly prisoners of war from enemy custody or detention facilities as it allows rescuers to pinpoint precisely where those facilities or locations holding custody of prisoners of war are located.
  • Training aid: The Synthesis brain-machine interface can be used as a potent training aid allowing them to be provided with simulated sensory input and interact with realistic artificial environments for an authentic training experience superior to flash-learning.
  • Machine interface: The Synthesis brain-machine interface acts as an input device directly connected to the nervous system and can be joined wirelessly or wired to machines and computers equipped with the necessary hardware to form a neural bridge, it allows the implanted individual to directly input their thoughts into the machine allowing input to be delivered directly without the clumsy lag created by manual input such as with hands dramatically decreasing reaction time, lag and improving precision.
WEAKNESSES
  • Interrogation: Taking advantage of the Synthesis brain-machine interface a particularly cruel or sadistic entity could use the interface's ability to generate simulated sensors input and create authentic artificial environments could potentially be used as a violent and torturous interrogation aid for one with the technical knowledge necessary to manipulate the interface's hardware and capabilities.
  • High-frequency direction finding: Unfortunately there is a flaw in the interface when it broadcasts telemetry data in that an opponent with a sophisticated level of technology could apply principles of High-Frequency direction finding, with a sufficiently powerful receiver or being sufficiently close in proximity to an implanted individual it could be possible that applying principles of signal intelligence using a radio-set connected to a "Huff Duff antenna" to direction find a bearing on the signal source.
DESCRIPTION
The most basic function of the Synthesis brain-machine interface is to act as a sort of security device which allows the Ellylon Republic to identify its' soldiers and citizens so that sensor equipment can identify them electronically through the use of radar and similar sensors. Another feature of the Synthesis brain-machine interface is that it has a tiny broadcast antenna which uses the implanted individual's body heat as a power source and sends encrypted wireless positional data which can allow the Republic to track their soldiers' or citizens' movements and be used in search and rescue operations or acts of surveillance, the signal broadcast by the brain-machine interface is a digital high-frequency radio wave on the electromagnetic spectrum it is generally detectable under several layers of rock and debris though does not have sufficient strength to penetrate through several meters of concrete or deep underground.

There exists a more sophisticated version of the basic Synthesis brain-machine designated as the "Synthesis brain-machine interface Mark VII" and this variant is strictly implanted into military officers across all branches. It is implanted into Non-commissioned officers, warrant officers and commissioned officers which feature broader capabilities including: Connection to encrypted data networks, providing access to sensitive information the access to which will require a security clearance, enabling the implanted individual to wirelessly and through thought alone communicate with individuals equipped with the same model of brain-machine interface, this model additionally features a data-crystal matrix which can house a sophisticated artificial intelligence which can decrypt sensitive information. All variants of the Synthesis brain-machine interface can be used as a potent training aid allowing them to be provided with simulated sensory input and interact with realistic artificial environments for an authentic training experience superior to flash-learning. Mark VII Synthesis brain-machine interface can be used to store sensitive information such as warship self-destruct codes and can receive not just transmit telemetry data from outside sources which is a contrast to the standard variant which can't receive data from other individuals equipped with the brain-machine interface device. Warship commanders implanted with the Mark VII can use their Brain-machine interface as a means of wirelessly and directly receiving data regarding their vessel vastly increasing their situational awareness.

Synthesis brain-machine interfaces are surgically implanted at the base of the skull above the Gwerin Doeth spine's cervical vertebrate and connecting up through the cerebellum Basal Ganglia and is designed for Gwerin Doeth physiology, they cannot typically be removed without a complex surgical procedure. The standard Mark VII is a sub-dermal device with its' ceramic-titanium transmission plate vaguely visible through the skin while the Mark VII variant leaves a visible small sphere-shaped portal that rises a few millimetres from the skin and which contains the data crystal access port for an artificial intelligence data crystal chip used by the Ellylon Republic for implanting and bonding an A.I. The Synthesis brain-machine interface is a very high-bandwidth device and can pass through such a significant amount of data that it be paired through a neural bridge to computer systems and powersuits and bypass limitations of the Gwerin Doeth motor system.

Effects from the Synthesis brain-machine interface greatly reduce the physiological stress from manipulating high-quality and compact powered powersuits that are currently being researched by the Ellylon Republic. Another benefit of the Brain-machine interface is that it permits a significant reduction in the manpower requirement for support roles and crew vehicles which are designed with this capability in mind, a soldier driving an armored vehicle can efficiently perform all the tasks that would normally require a driver, loader and gunner to perform transmitting a vehicle operator's very thoughts into action making vehicles equipped with compatibility for the Synthesis brain-machine interface far more responsive and lethal in combat. Additionally when used on a large-scale level across an entire military it allows for a greater ratio of combat personnel to combat support or combat service support personnel.
