For uncounted centuries, Bacta has been considered a saving grace and a miracle substance to many that populate the cosmos. No one truly knows when Bacta was first unveiled, or whether the substance was created by accident. But, when Bacta was brought forth to the Galactic Stage - the aqueous solution made waves soon after its introduction. Until the substance’s revelation, many Interstellar Nations that dominated the Galaxy utilized Kolto. This chemical substance was capable of healing an individual but wasn’t perfect. There were inherent flaws within the chemical composition of Kolto, and it’s quality varied from one harvest to the next. While the naturally harvested substance saved many lives during times of conflict, many found themselves permanently scarred. With the introduction of Bacta and the inevitable replacement of Kolto, permanent scars became nothing more than a footnote in the ever-growing Annals of History.
After Kolto became virtually non-existent, Bacta spread across the known Galaxy in various shapes and forms. All were intent on healing the wounded. However, there were times that the production and supply of Bacta were threatened - forcing the powers that be to adopt or utilize newfound blends to compensate for any shortages or corrupted quantities. With Thyferra being the only known, and sole source of this miracle fluid - One can only imagine how Crucial and Strategic the System would become. Should an Interstellar Nation hold exclusive claim to the System, there was a possibility that a stockpiled supply of Bacta could find itself suddenly running dry. Such concerns were marginal until the surface of Thyferra was scorched by the nascent and reconstituted Sith Empire. For a brief period, the Planet was unable to produce large quantities of Bacta.
However, as there was sufficient enough stock already in circulation amongst the Stars - many Star Systems made do with what they had. The imminent crisis was swept under the proverbial rug, and the Galaxy carried on as it always had.
Yet, there was a group of select individuals who believed that a contingency was needed. They thought that the Burning of Thyferra was only the beginning. Thus, this shadowy collective began collecting what High-Quality Bacta could be found to engineer a way to replicate its effectiveness. Basically, seeking to clone the substances that acted as Bacta’s constituent components, so that they might be able to recreate the miracle fluid - alongside its many products. The process took proverbial ages, as there were imperfections that weren’t accounted for, or shifting corporate focuses. However, as the Confederacy of Independent Systems announced their Confederacy First Initiative - the Synthetic Bacta was ready to be tested on Sapient creatures. The initial results were promising, as the artificially produced cultures enticed the test subject’s cellular regenerative properties to activate - effectively healing their recently inflicted wounds.
These tests proceeded for months as they utilized their Synthetic Bacta on a multitude of species, which produced similar results. Having succeeded, in a fashion, the shadowy collective began to market their Synthetic Bacta to many Interstellar Nations that found themselves situated outside the Violet Curtain. Seeking to deprive the Confederacy of their apparent Monopoly on the precious, life-saving substance. The Galaxy needed Bacta to survive the Chaos that swept across the Stars - thus None should be found lording over what should be available to all...
For a respectable, and affordable price.
