STANDARD FEATURES

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Fast Cruiser: Thanks to the large variety and loadout of propulsion systems and the ample power provided by the reactor combined with the general lightness and below average size of the ship, the Szayel is capable of maneuvres and speeds generally considered to be expected from smaller ships, making this quite the fast ship in its class.
  • Heavy Automization: With its extensive electrical and cybernetic loadout, this ship needs a surprisingly small crew to be in perfect operational condition, allowing for a much smaller contingent of people to operate in space and saving on manpower for those that can't spare this useful commodity.
WEAKNESSES
  • Heavy automization: Should anything happen to the electrical load out that would require shutting down or rebooting the on board AI, this could result in a tricky situation when the crew is below optimal, as though the ship under normal circumastances can be run by a small skeleton crew, in case of emergencies like this, they'd struggle to keep the ship operational.
  • EMP/ION: While its shielding may halt EMP and ION, the ship itself, especially the electrical loadout has a vulnerability to such weaponry, which means that with the shields down, this could pose a big problem.
DESCRIPTION
The Szayel class Assault Cruiser, a small and nimble ship was comissioned by none other than the N&Z Umbrella's chairman, Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath for the sake of expanding the line up in regards to the smaller ships, something the massive N&Z usually seemed to overlook in favor of much more massive star destroyers and battle cruisers. The comission was sent to the company's R&D center, which drew up a plan for the ship's exterior before sending the design to N&Z EnSol who would be tasked with adding and sourcing the necessary component's for the ship, either from the own productline or from well-known industrial partners such as HPI and the FAE.

After completing this task, the design complete with mock up and scale model was sent to the company's shipyards to build a prototype, which upon completion was then again inspected by the members of the N&Z EnSol before presenting the Szayel (as it was now called) to the company chairman and the board of directors.

The Szayel Class boasts a whole range of systems to ease the use and operation of the vessel, but also the newest technology available for any N&Z Product, showcased by using both the SLAB and the AIMS systems.
