BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Built on the sturdy and proven T80 chassis this vehicle is the primary armored infantry vehicle, built to support infantry and guard tanks from enemy infantry and, to a small extent, it can even do the job of an anti-aircraft system in an emergency. This vehicle possesses weapons systems for most situations, and its small turret profile allows it to be used in a hull-down position where it is safe. Its rear-opening troop cabin can comfortably hold a squad seated facing inwards towards one another and can be quickly refitted to perform medical evacuation. The troop cabin opens rearwards, with a heavy plate being the bay which drops down, pivoting from the bottom of the vehicle. There is very limited cargo space in the cabin, with only small amounts of space available underneath the folding seats. This vehicle is meant to dash around, and deploy its infantry who then undertake their own mission with the close support of the vehicle itself. However, this would leave the vehicle vulnerable, and it is far from untouchable, and its infantry-support role doesn't endear it to fighting off heavy walkers or tanks. But it is able to go toe-to-toe with enemy vehicles in its own class with its concussion missiles and with the protection of its infantry from enemy infantry.

- Offensive Abilities:
- Complex sensor suite for the entire crew, with each crew member having 360 degree field of vision with feeds in high-resolution IR, white-hot/black-hot thermal, and multicolor thermal sensors.
- Main fire control has high zoom functionality in white-hot/black-hot thermal, IR, multicolor thermal, normal vision, and has this in a full 360 degree field of view.
- Complex fire control computer identical to the one used in the T80-T Main Battle Tank.
- Has magnetic stabilizers for the main turret.
- Defensive Abilities:
- Main Hull: Layers of high-chromium durasteel, depleted baradium, and heat-resistant carbonite ranging from 400mm Frontal Armor, 350mm Side Armor, and 300mm Rear Armor. Bottom is V-Shaped to deflect blasts from mines and IED's. All weapons systems possess a fire-fighting system to prevent catastrophic magazine detonations, and in the event this cannot be avoided the magazines have blow-out panels that funnel the explosive force outside of the vehicle to protect the hull itself and the crew.
- Crew and Passenger Cabin: Made of 180mm titanium and 80mm of heat-resistant carbonite. It also sealed against all biological, radiological, and chemical weapons for crew protection.
- Turret: No armor, only a separate power cells inside the hull.
- Post-Production Addons/Upgrade Packages: (All are currently used by the Crossroads Republic Armed Forces)

- IR Dazzlers to disrupt laser-guided munitions and enemy night vision
- IR and Thermal Masking Smoke Canister Deployer
- IR and Thermal Masking Smoke Generator
- Multispectral Camouflage Netting
- Modular construction, making repairs somewhat easier
- A very sturdy vehicle, built with crew survival as its top priority.
- It is an older design, meaning it is available in large numbers.
- Unaffected by traversing through shield bubbles due to its tracks.
- Able to move through urban environments easily with its turret's guns not overhanging very far at all.
- Can engage enemy aircraft to a limited ability.
- Requires trained motor pool personnel to properly keep a fleet of these vehicles running.
- Requires large amounts of time to properly train in the operation of this vehicle and longer to learn how to properly use it in combat.
- Slower than hovercrafts, and cannot traverse over water or thin ice.
- Going top speed makes this vehicle difficult to control in anything but a straight line or long bends on prepared surfaces and is very hard on its transmission.
- Only has one more load of missiles ready for use, needs to fall back to reload its missile tubes completely.
- Does not possess anti-air fire control.
