Description
When you're out in the Wild, a good pair of boots is essential. Now, being honest, the Wild can be anywhere that Home isn't. For some, it's the sprawling forests of the Blood Moon. For others, it's the mean streets of Nar Shaddaa. Regardless of exactly where, a good pair of boots can keep a Hunter going longer than a shoddy set. That's where the Taak'tabi (Mando'a, Lit. "Bone Marchers")come in.
Designed by Warmaster Isley Verd, and crafted by the more talented of his House, the Taak'tabi are exactly what any Hunter need. They are a reliable pair of boots. Period. The material of choice is Spacer's Leather: a textile so strong that it can withstand the vacuum of space. A wearer need not worry about holes cut from blades, rocks, glass, or anything with an edge. Furthermore, the Taak'tabi have a few tricks built in. Each sole is coated in FrictionGrip, thereby granting a wearer that extra hold he (or she) needs when climbing a smooth surface. In addition, the soles are magnetized for additional climbing ability.
And in true, House Verd fashion, the Taak'tabi earn their name from the bones lining the interior of each boot. Lightly treated with alchemical processes, these remains hail from the predatory Adar – and function similarly to how the creature did in life. In particular, the wearer will find themselves able to jump marginally higher and/or farther. (Not over buildings in a single bound, mind.)
In brief, the Taak'tabi are durable. Reliable. Waterproof.
