- Misc. Equipment: Average. Sensors; Scanners; Shields; D-Viewer Viewfinder; A-Viewer Viewfinder.
- Resistances (Optional):
- Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): High
- Kinetic: Average
- Lightsabers: High
- Other: Average
- None. These models do not have computer splicing equipment anymore.
- Wrist-mounted Laser: The TAB droid's wrist-mounted laser is accurate, rechargeable, and versatile against a large scope of opponents. These version have a much higher rate of fire than TAB I, and less recoil.
- Shoulder Rockets: Explosive ordinance packs a punch against light vehicles or small to mid-sized ship hulls. The rockets have a heat-seeking ability and targeting system. However, compared to the MK One, they pack far less of an explosive punch.
- Plasma Axe: Mark II TAB droids also receive collapsible plasma axes, in case they enter melee combat.
- Large, Imposing and Tough: The TAB droids are large and imposing, and they are somewhat difficult to dispatch in hand-to-hand combat.
- Excellent Vehicle and Ship Pilots: MK II TAB droids are perfect as vehicle and ship pilots due to great hand-eye coordination...you know, for the upper-half of the droid.
- Resists Laser Blasts: Lasers and bowcasters have a chance of bouncing off of the MKII TAB droid.
- Heavily Resists Lightsabers: The MKII Tab can take between one and three medium lightsaber strikes before it sustains hull damage. Any more than that will cause critical damage, and continued assaults will destroy its reactor.
- Slugthrower Flechette: The MKII has basic anti-vehicle capabilities with the addition of an under-wrist slugthrower flachette launcher. This also works as a great alternative to their wrist lasers when going toe-to-toe with a force user.
- Automatically flees from force-users. The A-Viewer technology allows the droids to identify the basic presence of the force (but not the potency, position, or type of force that the enemy uses). Upon detecting these trace biological elements, the MKII TAB droid will simply flee into a vehicle or ship and use that against the force-user.
- Weak against force lightning: The MKII TABs will run away from force-users for a reason. Force electricity is conductive against their generators, and it will destroy them in one or two strikes.
- Weak protection against EMP blasts and other types of energy attacks: TAB Droids and electricity STILL don't mix.
- Weak protection against Radiation: TAB Droids and radiation particularly don't mix, as radiation will cause a reactor failure.
- Slow and Un-sturdy: These robots are bipedal and do not have thruster technology. They are considerably slower than propulsion droids.
- Unstable: The legs of the TAB Mark II have a structural weakness to kinetic damage. The droids can be swept easily off their feet. Just make sure to put a blaster round or a weapon in them once they fall down - don't kiss them!
- Wrist Rockets are Weak: The new carapace means that the scale and splash damage of the wrist rockets had to be diminished.
- Substandard Plasma Axe: The TAB Mark II's plasma axe will not last in combat against a lightsaber. In fact, these particular axes were not designed for any real longevity at all. A battle against a Mark II that drags on will eventually destroy their plasma axe.
- Soft Spots of the Carapace: The soft areas between the carapaces are still made with durasteel, and they are still vulnerable to attack.
- Poor as Mining Droids: Ironically, the lesser TAB Mark I droids make much better miners than the MKII droids. The MKII droids are poor at identifying and processing ores, being suited almost exclusively for combat and as vehicle / ship operators.
- No More Computer Splicing: The Mark II was given more armaments and armor, but in turn, they've lost their computer splicing modules.
TAB droids were created by Ova Ziss and the United Trade Authority to help protect the various asteroid mining facilities that Ova oversees on Dantooine and on Peragus II. When Mandalorian pirates began sniping at Ziss's mining barges and miners, he formulated and then deployed TAB droids to take out the pirates or to arrest them and bring them to the authorities. TABs help bring autonomous peace to Dantooine and to the Dantooine Space Station. In addition, TAB Droids are used by United Trade Authority mining barges to assist in extracting the resources without subjecting living beings to the awful conditions in mining space.
The Mark II TAB Droid came after after extensive field combat tests on Dantooine, Asation, and Bastion. This version improves on the previous weaknesses of the Mark I TAB: the MKI was used for both mining and security, and MKII is used only for security. While the wrist rockets and computer splicing module were removed in the MKII, they were replaced by better vehicle piloting, better view-finding technology, a flechette launcher, and a collapsible plasma axe. The addition of the light yet absorbant carapace of Ersteel 145, contracted by N&Z Corporation, makes the droids lighter and increases their utility, while making them less efficient miners.
