Kuna : A Mirialan stronghold located in the northern pole. Kunda holds the largest population of Mirialans found on Tabaqui, complete with a mountaintop temple and village surrounding the religious center. Kuna was forced to be completely self-sufficent for at least a century before the Gulag Plague struck the planet. Uneducated Tabaquians have little understanding of the religious practices of the Mirialans, making the population suspicious of their neighbors to the north. Non-Mirialan Tabaquians have a deep ethnic hate for the population found on their planet, many calling for their expulsion.
To avoid an ethnic war, the Mirialans looked to inside their community and shut their borders as an answer. Trade continued with a small Mirialan outpost in the southern pole but it was often a long and tedious journey, usually conducted once or twice a year by the strongest of youth(14 to 24) within the community.
Kuna itself is a cold-weather city with a majority of the surrounding homes made out of rock or a rock and timber mixture in order to withstand the harsh winters. At the center of the town is a large temple in which all Mirialans go for religious instruction and education. Unlike the others on Tabaqui, Mirialan children in Kuna are educated in a traditional manner often found on Mirial. Citizens of Kuna are governed by their eldest religious leaders, who keep a council to jointly decide on all matters.

Nellore : Largest major city on Tabaqai. Before the Gulag plague arrived in the spaceport, Tabaqui was considered the manufacturing and trading capital of the planet. Textile plants lined a massive industrial district where the lights never went off. Workers worked around the clock to supply the Corporate Sector with goods. The large spaceport acted as the only port for foreign goods to officially enter the planet and the only port where exports were handled.
When the Plague struck the poorer communities were hit hardest. Crowded, poorly constructed and with little resources the virus spread like wildfire. In an effort to contain the virus the worker districts and industrial centers were shut down, labeled a hot zone. Within the hot zone law quickly crumbled, even with martial law and military presence. The military fell back to the downtown area, where the rich business owners, traders, and government officials had been set aside. Using the military for themselves, these rich and powerful beings set up an extended area of reach, using the poor who survived as slaves for their greater goals.
Nellore now lies covered in flora and fuana. Trees have sprouted through buildings, the once paved streets are now mud and water. After one hundred years of lying abandoned many of the buildings are crumbling or are damaged. Predatory packs of kath hounds roam the streets along with smaller mammals who have made Nellore their home. Deep in the warlord controlled territory, those with power live high on the sad little hill they have created. Running hot water, electricty, cooking appliances and other little luxuries are found -- but are used only by those in charge. Slave labor keeps the city relatively maintained in comparison with the surroundings. Few try to escape due to harsh punishments put in place by the warlords. Few have a memory of life before the Gulag Plague.

New Arrah : Before the Gulag plague New Arrah was the crown jewel of Tabaqui. Built near the Egan Sea, the temperate city was a sprawling show of the wealthiest on planet. Familes of merchants, sector traders, buisness people, governmet officials, criminal syndicate bosses and the like all mingled together on an enclave away from the 'commoners'. While it looked like any middle-class neighborhood found on the Core planets, Tabaquians thought New Arrah was the pinnacle of luxury.
After the Gulag plague came to Tabaqui the government did their best to shut New Arrah off from the rest of the planet. Failing due to lack of a strong military, residents of New Arrah were either evacuated off planet or taken to the military compound in Nellore. Those taken to Nellore quickly fought for control of the city from their fellow warlords.
Abandoned, the nearby surroundings started to take over New Arrah. Independent bands of common Tabaquians quickly scavenged through the residental homes and set up small bases of operation. Those looking to survive weren't the only ones to come to New Arrah. Pushed out of Nellore by the wealthy warlords and remaining military, roving bands of criminals often roam through the city, trying to spot those who are alone or in small groups to take advantage of them. As such, New Arrah is constantly in a state of war between the various groups. No one can be trusted within the city.
Village of Jana :
After spending time in the northern pole, a group of newly arrived Mirilians decided the snowy mountaintop temple was not in their destiny. Knowing the planet was cooler on both ends, an expedition went out to find a suitable home for those who were unhappy at Kuna. After months of searching, a mountain range was settled on as the location for the new temple.
Concerned about the humans and those native to Tabaqui, the Mirilians worked their new temple into the side of the mountain in a steep area. With only one road in and out of the mountain it provided a sense of security for the new band of Mirilians. Many have tried and failed to reach the temple.
Culture: Before the Gulag Plague swept through most Tabaquians lived a simple life under wealthy aristocratic rule .All citizens celebrated planet wide holidays that often rotated around historical events or events put on by the ruling aristocrats ; such as seasonal festivals. Most often many would gather with the eldest family members to celebrate these events. Most citizens were either urban residents or farmers on large plots that lay close to the urban centers. Most did not venture into the other parts of the planet as they had little reason to, as many on Tabaqui could be considered 'home bodies'.
Tabaqui could not be considered an arts and culture hub. The citizens had basic and often lacking museums, art galleries, libraries and concert halls. Local artists did have success in selling useful handmade items such as tools and drinking vessels to the population.
Education was not mandatory and not sponsored by the government. Only the wealthiest of Tabaquians could afford to send their children to private education centers. The rest of the population either had to homeschool their children or merely leave them academically uneducated. As a result, most jobs on Tabaqui are unskilled labor positions in poor conditions such as textile mills, farms and primitive mining facilities.
Technology: Before the Gulag Plague Tabaqui could be described as advanced as any standard planet in the Outer Rim. Since the Gulag Plague the planet as had no new technology since its start. Most sits rusting and overtaken by weeds, pushing the planet back into the dark ages. Some surviving bands of residents have used modified solar panels to run items such as well pumps or labor droids, yet this is rare. Within zones controlled by warlords there is more in the way of technology -- intermittent electricity, running hot water, indoor plumbing and working cooking equipment. These luxuries are saved for warlords only and would be out of reach out of any average citizen to use.
History:
221 BBY : The first human settlers arrive on Tabaqui, fueled by the presence of newly built corporation locations. These locations soon being serving the Corporate Sector.
200 BBY : Mirilians leave their home planet to break off and practice their devout religion. After wandering the galaxy for six months, they find Tabaqui and settle in the poles.
197 BBY : Fueled by corporation growth, population on Tabaqui skyrockets. Most are indentured servants.
194 BBY : As the indentured servants gain their freedom, cities on Tabaqui grow and begin to take shape. Many are poor and cannot leave the planet and get shoved right back into the factories they left for low wages.
191 BBY : Those in charge(the wealthy) begin to set up city councils, governors and the like. Rights for many of the workers are merely an illusion. Low wages and indentured servants are the norm
185 BBY : Government changes to aristocratic rule
180 BBY : Workers revolt against their situation. Without goods leaving the planet or being manufactured many in power begin to suffer.
179 BBY : With the strike over many in power do their best to build public centers to appease the population. Libraries, parks and art centers are created.
164 BBY : Fear and hatred grow towards the Mirilians. By now the outsiders have a second conclave to the south. Many grow jealous of their skirting work and duties on the planet.
149 BBY : Mild strikes in the factories have struck again. Prepared this time, many local business owners and governors imprison the workers and bring in new indentured servants. Those jailed head to a labor camp in the jungles harvesting cellulose for the textile mills.
144 BBY : Construction begins on The Four Thrones. Its an overly expensive and lavish plan for four orbital stations around the planet. Multi-use they cement the planet as a manufacturing hub of the Tingel Arm.
134 BBY : Construction of The Four Thrones is complete. Shipyards, manufacturing, trading get underway.
130 BBY : More Mirilians arrive on Tabaqui, seeking greater enlightenment. Fears and concerns grow in the uneducation population.
129 BBY : Hayzin's Beads creates the most spectacular meteor shower in recorded history. Many report it as if the "sky is on fire". Workers immediately blame the Mirilians for bringing hellfire upon them.
119 BBY : With hatred reaching record levels, Mirilians rely on middlemen to do trade and buy goods. Most are spit on if seen in public.
69 BBY : Workers travel to the northern pole and vadalize the Mirilian mountaintop temple. Following their religion, the Mirilians respond peacefully. Police arrest the trouble makers.
12 BBY : The Galactic Empire comes knocking. With full support of the planetary leaders a base is established. Goods begin to be manufactured for the Empire.
0 BBY : Wealthy get richer. Manufacturing for the Empire(uniforms, textile for speeder seats, etc) is at an all time high. The Empire brings in slaves to keep up with demand.
25 ABY : Empire dwindling, Tabaqui turns their attention back to the Corporate Sector.
175 ABY : Conditions for the workers begin to improve. Indentured servants and slavery are outlawed. Holidays are created to give a semblance of life.
200 ABY : Middle class neighborhoods housing the families of supervisors, plant managers, foremen and the like slowly spring up.
242 ABY : War slowly breaks out through the sector. Tabaqui remains neutral, seeing too much profit in remaining so.
300 ABY : The Four Thrones are completely rebuilt.
324 ABY : More Mirilians come to the temples at the poles to join those who have created vibrant communities. Population estimates have them at 175,000 in number.
350 ABY : Tired with the ever present hatred the Mirilians close off all communication with the humans. Turning inward, Mirilians become self-reliant. They have a space faring vessel but only use it once every three or four years to go off planet for trade.
426 ABY : The Gulag Plague hits Tabaqui. Trade slows.
427 ABY : The Four Thrones are turned into medical centers for Tabaqui and the surrounding Tingel Arm.
428 ABY : The Gulag Plague has wiped out many workers. Wealthy familes have fled the planet. The Government cuts off the planet to all types of trade. No one else can move in or out.
432 ABY : The population hovers around a little over two million. Warlords have taken over sectors of the planet, using survivors to do their bidding.
475 ABY : Mirilians have run out of fuel for their vessels. They can no longer go off planet. With Tabaqui shoved into the dark ages, the groups are completely alone.
501 ABY : War rages throughout Tabaqui. Those who have survived are slaves. Technology is hobbled together in strongholds for the warlords to be in comfort.
547 ABY : Small groups of slaves escape the war torn areas. Some flee to other cities while others become roving bands of criminals.
575 ABY : Roving criminals try to attack the Mirilians. They are unsuccessful. Those who survive spread the story of magical powers beyond thought to all they meet. The poles quickly become ignored by the human population.
633 ABY : A wandering ship full of refugees crash lands on Tabaqui. There are no survivors. Warlords try to fix the wreck only to fail.
728 ABY : There have been no new cases of the Gulag Virus on Tabaqui. The population begins to stablize but does not grow rapidly.
835 ABY : Sitting ignored and long off the star charts, explorers in the Sanctum are eager to see what lies in their borders.
