- Select Fire: These blaster pistols are caapble of changing their rate of fire between two options. Using the Semi-Automatic function allows one blaster round per each pull of the trigger while switching to Automatic allows rapid fire by only a single pull of the trigger. This allows the blaster pistols to function better in select scenarios.
- Ghostfire: This blaster comes special made with a crystal that channels the Isotope-5 energy so that the blaster rounds will be both silent and nearly invisible to the naked eye. Although there is still some sound attributed to them, these blaster bolts are nearly undetectable.
- Heavy Hitter: Powered with Isotope-5 these blasters have a hard-hitting impact that can leave even the most defended targets in a daze. While their range may be limited, anything that these blaster bolts slam into within it's range are sure to feel the sting of it's power cell.
- Mobile: Meant to be beneficial in a tactical enviornment these pistols are small and light. This allows them to be easily carried around and maneuevered, despite the destructive power they bring to the table.
- The Ghostfire: These blaster pistols are not as loud as the common blaster pistol, even when fired at close round they are very difficult to hear. In fact, the impact of the blaster hitting it's target is almost always louder than the actual shot being fired. Thanks to the Ghostfire crystals within the blaster rounds this weapon fires are nearly invisible to the naked eye, making them extremely difficult to defend against or redirect with a lightsaber.
- Smooth Firing: Thanks to the pistols smaller size and controlled power source, it holds relatively no recoil, making rapid fire and precision shots alike that much easier to maintain.
- Reload Time: The Isotope-5 power cells used in these blaster pistols need up to five minutes to prime once installed into the pistol. So while the pistole may host a healthy magazine, it is wise to always refit before combat, because an in-combat refit could be dangerous or impossible.
- Close Range: The Tactical Recon Handgun is precisely that, a handgun, making it perfect for close quarters combat but not ideal for mid-long range skirmishes. Outside of the blaster's effective firing range it is virtually useless and loses it's accuracy.
- Isotope-5 Power Cell: Isotope-5 is known to be incredibly unstable, even in it's most refined form. A precise blaster round to the power pack or a lightsaber coming in contact with the cell could end in the entire blaster pistol exploding, possibly injuring anyone nearby.
Created by Dynetech Industries, this set of protoype handguns are considerably more expensive than the common blaster pistol. This is due to the Isotope-5 power cells and specialized crystals used to give this weapon an edge in battle. The most notable feature of these handguns are that their blaster shots are relatively invisible and remarkably quiet.
Another feature of the Tactical Recon Handgun is it's select fire ability. With the flip of a switch the user can turn this pistol from an accurate semi-automatic weapon to a powerful automatic pistol that fires off consecutive rapid shots. The pistols are light and maneuverable to be less of a burden when in the field, each one is designed to have a smooth firing order with as little recoil as possible. All in all the pistols were deemed too costly to Mass-Produce for the Confederate military. The amount of Isotope-5 needed would have been enough credits to buy a large planet and the Ghostfire crystals rariety rivaled that.
Though the pistols were effectively cancelled in mid-production a single set has been released from Dynetech for further field testing. This set was given to [member="Luna Terrik"] as she was the Commander of an elite military organization, the Dauntless Commandos, and could likely yield the best results with the blaster pistols.
