Description:
While testing designs for a new vibro-weapon, Arisa experimented with spoons, toying with the idea of improvised weapons that could pass the muster of inspection as everyday items. In the end, she never got past the prototype stage with this particular experiment, but she did create some viable weapons in the process. So-called tactical spoons, useful in both the kitchen and on the battlefield.
The bulk of the spoon body consists of the handle, which houses the power source - a removable diatium power cell - an EM field generator, and an energy sink crafted from heat resistant dallorian alloy for absorbing excess electricity in the event of a surge. The handle has a simple digital display, and buttons for activation and controlling the various settings of the utensil.
A removable spoon head tops off the hilt. When the diatium cell is activated, electricity is channeled into the spoon head to cause it to vibrate at high frequencies. In its powered state, the spoon's normally slightly sharpened edges receives a great increase in cutting ability, while the whole surface can deliver electric shocks upon contact. Depending on the setting, a shock can be set from tickle to kill over a spectrum of 10 settings.
Optionally, the generator can be activated to create a powerful containment field around the field. The corridor of electromagnetic energy extends to the length of a standard lightsaber. The containment field is much stronger than those of a standard lightsaber, so that it can effectively block solid objects in addition to energy blades and bolts. In this way, the containment field operates very similarly to the containment field of a training lightsaber or a stasis field. Because of the intensity of the containment field, it can cause painful stings and light burns in the event of direct contact. Direct blows against electronics and synthetics can disrupt their operation.
