Public Tactics Class

Kailani Fostu sat back in his seat as the Admiral explained the wargame. Each commander would have one chance, and only one, to defeat the enemy controlled by a level 10 AI. Kailani smiled. Although the AI had been learning from fleet battles for a century, it was no match for the average Chiss genius. Admiral Nairb pointed at the tactical map, where then red blips showed up. The admiral said, "Here, you can see ten enemy ships of unknown class. Your fleet is in geosynchronous orbit above a high priority Imperial factory. You need to protect that factory at all costs. You have three Star Destroyers, five light cruisers, two frigates, and more than 200 TIE fighters at your disposal. Do what you must to destroy the enemy."
Kailani looked around and waited for someone to try first.

This of course was a combined effort. Dorian was there on behalf of the Draconian People, And was in training on the request of a Draconian Friend, and proven admiral of the Draconian Sector Fleet 'Archon'.

Dorian was the first to step. A elegant and noble man who has found an increasing increase in tactics outside of the pilot seat. He did want to test himself so that he may learn.

Dorian always thought that intel was the smartest thing to gather before the gun stated blasting. Setting the fleet in a defencive formation.

The Fleet consisted of
- 3 Standard Star destroyers
-5 Arquitens-class light cruisers.
Each armed with 4 light Turbolasers and 4 heavy laser cannons, As well as 4 concussion missile launchers
-2 Imperial class Nebulon Frigates
Each armed with 12 Medium Laser cannons and 12 Medium Turbo lasers, as well as 2 Missiles launchers
-200 Tie fighters, and variants included.
  • 100 Standard TIE Fighters
  • 80 Interceptors
  • 20 Defenders

The three star-destroyers he would assign to the back, as there gun would be able to fire the farthest with the guns. Around them he would assign the 80 interceptors around, to act purely as a defensive screen for bombers or smaller gunships, The defenders were held back for now.

50 tie fighters were sent out with 1 of the Nebulosi to scout the battlefield, for data on potential debris, or spatial anomies, not to mention what the enemy was bringing. Everything else was held back in a defensive formation, Until appropriate data was compelled or the scout fleet was destroyed

Kailani watched as a Draconion stepped up to the tactical map and began pressing buttons. He arrayed his fleet into a standard defensive formation, and sent out a scouting party consisting of one of his nebulons, and fifty TIEs.

Everyone in the room was deathly silent, and no one dared to breathe. Except Kailani. It would be normal for humans and some humanoids to be anxious in this situation…when it was real. This was a simulation. Why was there so much tension? Kailani shook his head. Maybe he’d never fully understand humans.

Suddenly, the other seated students gasped in unison. Kailani glanced at the tactical and saw that dozens of white dots had appeared in front of the nebulon and its escort. Asteroids. Kailani frowned. If Imperial sensors could detect ships many light years away from Duro, then why couldn’t they detect asteroids much closer?

Maybe the asteroids were… no…that would take too much time, and would require a ship to take them in. But then again, it was possible, depending on which faction those ships belonged to. He would just have to wait and see.

Absorbed in the mysteries of the new asteroid field, Kailani didn’t notice that the enemy fleet was only a few minutes away from it. Abruptly, the vague red dots turned into induvidual shapes. There were five squares marking cruisers, an oval meaning a battleship, a carrier, and two anti starfighter corvettes. Kailani grimaced. The scouting fleet would have to move closer to discover the faction the ships belonged to, but that would be very risky. He could retreat having gathered the class of the ships, but then he wouldn’t have the preferable amount of information. Preferable at least for the Chiss.
Kailani sighed and waited to see what the draconian would do.
