The Inari Shogunate has a strict class hierarchy: at the top of the hierarchy are theDaimyo, or the military leaders and lords of the territories, followed by the Samurai, a warrior-caste of highly disciplined and veteran soldiers. Then, the "middle-class"Chonin, the merchants, artisans and industrial leaders, and finally, the subservientNomin, or civilians and workers, served and obeyed the Daimyo absolutely, while giving reverence to the Samurai. Members of society who did not serve a Daimyo as well as outsiders were given the socially condemning social title of Ronin; all Ronin were able to rise to the rank of Nomin upon accepting a Daimyo and proving his loyalty, although cases of further social progression are unheard of. Finally, all guests of honor who decide to visit the Inari Shogunate are given the social title of Kyaku.
