Take Flight

Shipments were starting to arrive for Juniper City and Jairdain tried to meet most of the people bringing them. It provided her with personal contact and indicated to them she had a true interest in her country. Today was no different than any other for her. So many others would not go through what might be seen as trouble to do this, but she enjoyed it.

By nature, she was a friendly person and sometimes too trusting. However, with these people arriving, unloading and then leaving, she maintained a professional distance, yet gave them a personal touch.

Wearing dark pants and boots, she opted to have a lighter shirt of pale green on. Over that, she wore a tan cloak that had some green markings on it. On her shoulder sat a small, green wolf that looked around the area. Their connection allowed her to look through his eyes when she wanted to.

Smiling at the person arriving, she waiting until he was off his ship before approaching him. Giving him a nod and walking over, her hand extended to give him a shake.

"Welcome to Commenor and Juniper City. Do you need any fuel or anything before you leave? Most other arrangements were already made before you arrived."

Hands shoved in the pockets of his bulky coat, a lit cigarette hanging from between his lips, Kvelduf stamped down the ramp of Outlander with a stormy expression carved across his scarred features, the tattoo-like marking decorating his skin stretching and twisting. If it hadn't been one thing, it was another during his journey to Commenor. Problems with his hyperdrive, pirates pulling him from hyperspace, and general misfortune with the electrical systems of his ship. As such, he had been cold and grumpy for the last leg of the journey, behaviour that still clung to him even though he had finally arrived at his destination on Commenor - Juniper City.

Barking orders and directions to the staff that were hurrying forwards to remove the crates of food-stuffs and other cargo, Kvleduf by no means presented an approachable figure. A storm of anger seemingly swirling around him, lashing out at anyone who drew too close to him. As such, one of the individuals stood around the docks moving to approach him drew his focus - the first person to approach him after the first few had suffered a few scathing remarks.

Huffing slightly, steel grey eyes ran along the approaching woman's form, taking note of the rather decorative clothing and the odd, green wolf set upon her shoulder, with a raised eyebrow. However, his confusion soon vanished as the hazy, purple eyes and stark ebony hair clicked into place over top of one of the mentally memorised faces of the higher-ups of Juniper and Commenor itself. Sighing heavily, Kvelduf rubbed at the back of his neck - using the sensation to calm himself down and slowly dissipate the frustration within him. After all, it wouldn't do to meet the Lady of Juniper and snap at her. No need to scare off a potential return customer.

Smiling tiredly, Kvelduf reached out to the Lady just as he reached out to him, gripping her hand in a firm handshake before withdrawing it to run his hand through his hair, pushing it back from falling in front of his face. "Well, well. Lady Jairdain herself, come to meet little old me. A pleasure, my Lady." Bowing slightly at the waist, an exhausted smirk on his face, Kvelduf gestured to the docks around him, having heard rumours that the blind woman had some means of seeing and choosing, as such, not to curb his normal behaviour. "What brings you down here, surely you have more important duties than meeting a humble transporter of goods."

Sighing heavily, before the Lady would have the chance to respond, the smirk fell from his lips as Kvelduf took a final drag from his cigarette before grinding it out beneath his heel and bending to place it in his pocket so as not to litter upon grounds that was not his own. "I apologise if my behaviour is a bit sharp right now. Let's just say that my journey was not easy. I'd appreciate it, though, if my beauty could be refuelled before my departure. And, if I may ask if there might be a chance to eat and sleep before I leave. I love my dear Outlander, but, seeing the same walls without end doesn't serve to maintain a healthy mentality."

Her ability to pick up on emotions had never faded and only gotten stronger with time. The irritation and anger Kvelduf felt was clear to the woman. Yet she approached him openly and without any fear. They were here to work together and she was his patron in this case. Giving his hand a shake, she took hers back when it was finished and listened to what he said.

"I am rather hands-on, Captain and prefer to take an active role in my duties here. My own parents were merchants and as such, I feel a connection and want to reach out to the people that help me."

Though he had not done anything to express his sour mood to her, he still apologized for it. Nodding in acceptance, there wasn't much she could think of to say to it.

"One can hope you future journies will be less eventful and don't have as much stress. Yes, all of that can be arranged."

She smiled slightly when he mentioned seeing the same walls day after day. Though she had Sage in her pocket and could use his eyes if she wanted, it was something Jairdain had never had to worry about. Without physical sight, the walls were lost to her and she could see whatever she wanted to or not at all.

"We can leave whenever you are ready."
