Taking A Ship On Some Hutts

Lorane felt a bit odd as he landed Bluebird on Nar Shaddaa. Not about being on the planet itself. More about the person he and Rawnie were supposed to meet for the job they'd been offered. All he'd gotten was that they were being hired to help this woman steal something. Okay. That was alright.
So why did he feel like he was getting into something a little bit bigger than he thought? He went back down to the bedroom, slipping into bed next to Rawnie before putting his arms around her to wake her up.
"We're on Nar Shaddaa, princess. Want some coffee?"

Rawnie Tal'verda

She had half a mind to slap him for that comment. Princess. She opened one eye and glared at him.

"If you call me that again, I will cut you up and feed you to my strill."

She was referring to the sloppy, ugly creature she went hunting with back home. Useful things, strills. Even one as old and Lord Cabur was a hunters best friend. Her best friend since birth, actually.

"Coffee. Please."

Of course, Rawnie's strill was a cheerful old guy, and Lor was less awed by the threat than he should've been... But he got the point.
"Sorry, Rawnie. Shoulda figured you wouldn't like that one."
He very gently picked her up out of the bed and started towards the kitchen.
"On a scale of one to giving a bantha a heart attack, how strong should I make the coffee today?"

She opened her mouth to protest when he picked her up, but quickly shut it again. Truth was, she liked that he could carry her. Not that it was hard. She was a tiny thing, skinny. With her armor on, though, she knew he'd have way more trouble. The thought of him trying to carry her in full armor made her smile.

"Well," she answered, "I have always wanted to kill a bantha..."

Lor smiled back at Rawnie's answer as he gently stood her up on the floor of the kitchen, still keeping an arm around her as he turned the coffee machine on.
"Well, pissing off Sand People is fun, but bantha meat doesn't taste very good."

"Never tried it myself," she admitted, "but I will take your word on it."

She looked down at herself. She was wearing one of his button-up shits... and absolutely nothing else. Well. What happened last night? She smirked and lat her head on his shoulder. She could get used to this. It would hurt when he left. Yes. It would sting worse than a blaster bolt to the heart, but at least the blaster would kill her quickly...

[member="Doctor Azure"]

"I admit, dragging myself through a desert again to demonstrate wouldn't be the most appetizing notion."
Lor kissed the top of Rawnie's head as she leaned on him. He hadn't noticed that she wasn't wearing anything. Not that it bothered him too much. As far as he was concerned, she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever laid eyes on. And definitely one of the best hunters he'd ever met. He tried not to think about what'd happen if they ever got separated. Insanity was probably a likely result for him, at least.
"So, what do you think of this job, visahot? I don't mind stealing, so long as it's not horrible, like taking from somebody who seriously needs it."
His morals were admittedly strange, but old people and kids were a bit of a soft spot for him... Unless they tried to kill him. Then they got the hammer, like anybody else.

Rawnie was... less than excited to be stealing. That was her mothers job, not hers. Mom was the pirate. Rawnie ran a perfectly legal operation, keeping herself out of the gaze of the law. The idea of breaking her own code was... scary. But she'd do it. For Lor.

"I think it's a terrible idea," she admitted, "But we need the credits."

And she'd leave it at that.

[member="Doctor Azure"]

"I promise, if it's anything seriously insane, I'll say no."
Lor squeezed Rawnie a little bit with his arm, slipping his hand around hers.
"Honestly, we'll probably have to take on bigger jobs, soon. My old contacts are all either going straight, or a bit farther into the cartels than I'm willing to. Stealing and smuggling is better than slaving, as long as it doesn't involve doing that with people."

Rawnie sighed, waiting for the coffee to finish brewing. He was right. She hated it, but she was right. They had to step it up, take what they could get.

"Im turning into my mother," she grumbled, "don't let me take up spice though, alright?"

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lorane leaned his forehead on Rawnie's and hugged her a little tighter. She was a lot like Zandra, as far as personality went, but he'd stop her the moment he thought she was beginning to pick up the less pleasant of her mother's habits.
"Even if you ended up hating me, I'd never let that happen. And I won't even deal in spice. I refuse to."

They stood that way for a moment, foreheads touching, arms wrapped around the other. Love. Rawnie had been reluctant to experience it, what with her only previous experience turning into something so dark and ugly. But this was beautiful, carefree, light. She could be with him when she wanted to. She could make love to him when the mood struck. She could kiss him, sleep next to him, talk to him. It was nice having someone to even just talk to. Working alone was... disheartening.

"Thanks, Cyar'ika," she said with a smirk, "Now, didn't we have a job to do, or are we going to head back into the bedroom and not get dressed?"

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor had never thought he'd be disappointed to go on a job. But Rawnie's teasing was something he loved, and also something he sometimes had to say no to, sadly.
"Well, we do need to get dressed and go out soon, but that doesn't mean we can't roll around on various bits of furniture after we are."
He poured out the coffee, and then winked at her as he dropped some ice cream into the two mugs.

The blonde took the mug offered to her, smiling at the icecream addition. She took a careful sip, letting free a sigh of pleasure.

"Mmm, Lor'ika, this is why I love you. You make a mean cup of coffee and you're always up for a good time."

Not the only reasons, but they were important. Plus his skill with a blaster could make a girl positively swoon. If that wasn't husband material, she didn't know what was.

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor grabbed his own coffee and kissed Rawnie on the nose.
"Well, my reasons are something along those lines, plus the fact that you are very good at demonstrating how you can tease me by wearing my clothes instead of taking yours off..."
His free hand grabbed hers, and he squeezed it.
"And, um... I don't feel like drinking as much when you're around."

His hand grabbed hers and he was looking at her with those big red eyes of his. He looked so... grateful? Why?

"Yeah, I've noticed that you don't drink quite as much anymore," she responded, finding herself blushing a little bit, "Are you saying I had something to do with that?"

It didn't seem like she did anything special, honestly. All she did was... well, love him. It was easy.

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor shrugged at Rawnie and took a couple of sips of his coffee.
"You probably did. We don't even talk about my problems much, but it sort of felt like they didn't matter as much, anymore. Apparently, all I needed was some love..."
He kissed her cheek again, smiling.
"Glad you were the one who gave me that."

The blonde smiled warmly, running one hand down his face as he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek.

"Come on. We should get dressed and meet up with... whoever it is we're meeting up with."

Last thing they needed was a repeat of the last time they were supposed to meet someone. He'd walked in on them furiously making out on the couch. Awkward. They didn't need something like that again.

[member="Doctor Azure"]

Lor chuckled at the memory of their last "meeting" aboard ship with somebody. Their demonstration of mutual attraction had been rather aggressive, and not as private as Rawnie might've liked.
"I'm waiting for her call. Evelyn something."
He teasingly kissed her neck quickly as he started pulling pants on.
"Anything that doesn't involve taking our clothes off again is fair game."

Rawnie didn't have much in the way of casual wear. She wore her armor almost constantly, which is why she had a tenancy to 'borrow' his shirts so often. As he started to get dressed, she pulled the button-up she'd borrowed from him off and threw it into a laundry bin. Well, if she was going to meet someone about a potential job, her beskar'gam was probably not a bad idea. She zipped herself into her underarmor, the skin tight leather suit she wore as added protection and insulation. Then she started collecting the pieces of her beskar, strapping it on herself with buckles and leather strips.

"I hope this job is worth it," she mumbled, pulling her gloves on, "I... really hate meeting new people."
