Long years of war and social upheaval had disheartened populations and crumbled infrastructure. Four months have passed since the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances was founded. Life didn’t get miraculously better. There was a new hope though, a sort of optimism for the future that had disappeared from the Core Worlds some time ago. Since it’s founding, Borleias, Chandrila, Foerost, J't'p'tan, Lilac, Metellos, Nyeon, Osadia, Questal, Ragoon VI, Thracior, and many others, had joined the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. They came for their own reasons. Some joined looking for protection, others for economic relief, and many others to be part of something greater again.

Carolina Tevinter was proud her nation flew the star-spangled banner. The starbird was a source of honor. She lived through the harrowing years when the One Sith Empire smashed their way through the Core Worlds. She was a young girl when Coruscant fell. She was a young woman when the Sith Star Destroyers darkened the sky over Pol Anaxes. Her people became the pawns of imperial powers. The Sith, and the imperial warlords that came after them, were many things but always capricious and uncaring. For Carolina, the hard victories won by the Core Federation through the leadership of Chancellor Emmen Tagge, had presented the Core Worlds a second chance. They could avoid the mistakes of their predecessors.

The Republic fell to the One Sith Empire because of government weakness. Defeat after defeat befell the Republic until it abandoned the Core Worlds entirely. It held on in the Outer Rim for a little while but ultimately disintegrated into obscurity. And so, bearing those recent experiences in mind, the Senator of the Azure System had called a meeting. She directed her office to make contact with Senators and Representatives from across the Core Worlds. People who shared her interest in a strong national government, one that was grounded in constitutional principle.

And so, bearing such recent experiences the Senator of the Azure System had called the meeting. Her office made contact with Senators and Representatives from across the Core Worlds who shared in her interest of a strong national government founded on strong constitutional principles—Centrists—and invited them to attend a gathering. Jasol Dorsian—Governor Admiral of Sanjin—graciously offered to host the Centrist Caucus. So an ensemble of political figures were gathering on planet Sanjin.

The conference room had a beautiful view of the sea of clouds. Streams of airspeeder traffic flowed from one cloud colony to the next. The room had a conference table with ten chairs around it. On the table was a holoprojector for general use. Outside the conference room was the functionary room, a large room that could comfortably fit a hundred-and-fifty people. Delegations from across the Core Worlds had gathered. They were busy with conversation and enjoying themselves. Politicking and buffets often went hand-in-hand. The Sanjin staff had lined the walls with buffet tables with delicacies from all over the Galaxy. One-wheeled droids rode about the room, pedantically offering alcoholic beverages. The Centrist Caucus would start after enough time had passed for people to get better acquainted.

The Carolina Tevinter watched it all from afar. She was dressed conventionally with a midnight blue coat with a matching skirt. Her lapel was adorned with a platinum pin with the emblem of the Azure System Commonwealth. She stood by the entrance to the conference room. One of her assistants was quietly reciting who had shown up, dropping a couple of biographical facts here and there. Carolina was only half-paying attention.

Jasol walked from his office down towards the meeting room, datapad in hand and flanked by two Sanjini marines. News of illegal mining colonies on Sanjin's equator had kept him busy so he was running a bit late. But now was time to set aside the task of hunting the colonies for another day, for the meeting ahead was arguably more important. It seemed ironic to Jasol that it was only now the Centrists had begun to unify. They were centrists after all, being centralised seemed like their sort of thing.

He grabbed his datapad showing the list of attendees and one name in particular caught his eye. "Senator Seth Saaliche Seth Saaliche of Azbrian... interesting." he said to himself. Azbrian was the next system over so it seemed appropriate to look out for its senator. The others on the list he had expected save one, Greeble the Hutt Greeble the Hutt . Jasol didn't have much information on the Hutt but from his experience Hutts were exploitive and corrupt criminals. He'd have to wait and see whether Greeble would disprove the stereotype. He handed his aide his datapad before walking through the functionary room's doors.

The room was busy as Jasol had expected, filled with Senators, advisors and military officer all coming to take part or observe the meeting. Instantly he saw Senator Tevinter, the person behind the whole caucus and approached her. "Senator Tevinter. Apologies for my tardiness I had to deal with a few mining related issues." He explained before turning out and looking at the large group. "How are we looking for numbers? I assume most have made it." he continued.

Constantine was not a politician, at least, not yet. He had ambitions, but he hadn't gotten a chance to act on them. He wasn't even a high enough rankling officer to be here on that merit alone. So Constantine was surprised when he was invited. His sister, Naia, told him a few days before the caucus that she'd used some of her political connections to recommend him for the meeting. the young man appreciated his sister's help, and would not let this opportunity pass him by.

Looking over the roster of attendees, Constantine was not surprised that he didn't recognize most of the names. The only two he knew of were Jasol Dorsian, an admiral, and Carolina Tevinter Carolina Tevinter , the prime minister and senator for the Azure system, Constantine's home. The rest of the attendees were new names and faces to the Anaxsi. This would be an interesting experience, to be sure.

As Constantine walked around the room, with little direction, a serving droid offered him a beverage. Constantine refused, and began making his way towards the edge of the room. He wasn't sure yet how to start a conversation with politicians, nor did he know exactly who to introduce himself to. as he observed the room, he watched as a man he assumed to be the admiral approach Carolina.

Sanjin - Cloud Colony Areta Ka - Capitol Sector - Evening
Seth had arrived rather early to the event, marking one of his greatest pleasures, he had a strange fascination for watching parties or gatherings slowly form out of what was beforehand an empty ballroom, it gave him a feeling of closure, or at least that’s what he told himself today. In actuality Seth’s punctuality more came from a sense of impending nervousness, this event would mark his first formal gathering with members of his party since his indoctrination and the previous Senator of Azbrian, Leaho Escarrno’s retirement and Seth was anxious to make a good impression.

Seth stood against the small cocktail bar in the centre of the room, disgustingly fruity neon blue alcoholic beverage in hand, observing as the room got steadily more and more packed as the bulk of attendees arrived, when the crowd had grown large enough he made the decision to join the pack of wolves to mingle with these like minded senators from across the alliance.

Among the crowd, firstly spotting Senator Jasol Dorsian of the planet this event is being hosted on speaking with one of the coordinators of this banquet Senator Carolina Tevinter Carolina Tevinter of the greater Azure System, Seth thought to intrude on the conversation but decided to leave them to their talks. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted an attendant he didn’t recognize from the datapad concerning Centrist members of senate, a much younger looking man ( Constantine Oliva Constantine Oliva ) then the rest of the crowd dressed in a (I assume, correct me if I’m wrong) formal Galactic Alliance naval uniform. This man, much like Seth, passively observed the crowd as opposed to interact, biding his time. Thoroughly intrigued, Seth figuring he’d be good conversation practice for the other titanic personalities of the room.

Good evening sir, couldn’t help but notice you too seem to feel a bit out of place here, what is your name and title?” Seth asked in a welcoming voice.

Greeble the Hutt's eyes were on their datapad when they arrived. Upon looking up, they promptly slid over to the buffet tables, dropping the datapad as a nearby service droid fumbled to catch it. Greeble quickly emptied some platters into their gaping maw, but despite their large mouth, not everything made it in, and a few cleaning droids rushed over to clean up the dropped food (not to mention the inevitable trail of slime). After choosing a few more large bowls to take, they slowly slithered away from the edges of the room to look for some fellow politicians to mingle with. Preferably one who might be bothered by their presence, as Greeble found enjoyment in the little things that made politics a bit more interesting. It usually wasn't hard to find someone a little uncomfortable with the slimy skin, grubby tail, and natural odor. Greeble settled on a fancy looking man talking with the well-dressed Carolina Tevinter Carolina Tevinter . Unfortunately, they had displaced their datapad and couldn't look up the names and faces of all the attendees. They decided to keep an eye out for the droid who had it as they made their way towards the pair.

"Good to see you again, Carly. Heh, just kidding."

Greeble hoped she knew them enough to know the 'kidding' part was about getting her name wrong, not that it wasn't good to see her. Greeble turned to the man she was with. (Jasol Dorsian )

"I don't believe we've met."

Greeble resisted greeting them with a 'friendly' pat on the shoulder. They got the impression those two would not be happy to get a little slime on their outfits. It would definitely be amusing in a less formal setting, but they didn't really come to make enemies. Besides, Greeble wasn't ready to part with the delicious bowls of food they were still carrying.

"-and so I said to him: Actually, Admiral, I think you'll find I do!" the familiar tenor of Adhira's voice could be heard briefly as her delegation entered the room before the other Balmorrans and political attendants erupted in a chorus of laughter. Leading the group was the Senator of Balmorra herself in a dazzling set of cerulean robes, accented in metallic gold that shifted and shimmered as she walked. On her lapel was the matching emblem of her own planet. Around her were the Representatives of Zephyr, Calor, Petra, and Frigur, Balmorra's four moons. In addition, there were a few military figures and some attache's from her Coruscant office mixed in, all chatting amongst themselves.

Adhira had been a reluctant woman from the moment she entered electoral politics, but she quickly became one of the most central and most powerful figures of the Alliance. Ironically, even though she was a leading voice among the Centrist bloc of Senators, she had become a close advisor to the populist Chancellor, had brokered dozens of key legislative deals, and was often tapped to lead vital diplomatic missions abroad. The air of grandeur she exuded in her brightly colored gowns and jeweled adornments seemed to punctuate her resume. She'd even been the target of an assassination attempt during her consular mission to Denon and everyone knew that was the true mark of achievement.

The older woman detached herself from the conversations the rest of the Balmorran delegation was having to scan the room for her Centrist colleagues. She was able to identify a few, though there were also newer faces present. Though her de facto leadership of the loosely connected bloc of politicians had largely been unofficial, she still did a lot of heavy lifting to raise the profile of centrist beliefs and was glad to see that a number of new faces had joined their ranks. In truth, the centrist bloc was growing and it seemed as if they were on the verge of forming a fully functioning political movement, something the much larger but less organized populists had failed to do.

Perhaps her career would last long enough to see the election of a centrist Chancellor. Adhira chuckled at the thought as her own name pulled her back into her delegation's conversation and she turned to rejoin them as they awaited the start of the conference.

Carolina turned toward Jasol Dorsian. “Attendance is looking good, in fact, I see all the Delegates now. Thank you you once more for generously hosting this whole affair, Governor-Admiral,” She said softly, leaning over to him. “And taking the time to attend yourself,”

“Good to see you again, Carly, Heh, just kidding,”

Carolina smiled a little wider. “Greeble, you honor us with your heaviness,” she said amiably. She constrained her nose from wrinkling as the Hutt drew near the Azure and Sanjin Senators. She had invited the Hutt because they had yet to take a firm stance in the growing rift in the Galactic Senate. Carolina hoped by the end of the meeting that the Hutt would be fully onboard with their agenda. “Since the Delegates have arrived, perhaps we should move to the Conference Room.” She glanced at the Governor-Admiral.

As Constantine watched, there were a few notable arrivals. One, simply for his immensity. Constantine watched as Greeble the Hutt Greeble the Hutt the Hutt entered the room and sloppily ate and drank. He averted his gaze from the being, just to watch as Adhira Chandra Adhira Chandra and the Balmorran delegation entered.

Constantine did not wait long before a friendly man approached him. The Kage asked him his name and title, and Constantine felt at ease. The Senator seemed to be one Seth Saaliche Seth Saaliche , who had been on the roster of attendees. The young Anaxsi turned to the senator to make eye contact and moved to shake his hand. While he did this he answered the Senator's question.

"Commodore Constantine Oliva, at your service. This is my first political function, I'm afraid, so I apologize for being out of it."

Seth looked at the boy ( Constantine Oliva Constantine Oliva ) with enthusiasm and intent, always excited to see new fresh faces in politics, taking eye to his fine cloth and poised disposition giving Seth to have assumption of him being of noble birth but above all that certain gleam in his eye, a gleam that meant he was eager for greatness.

Seth continued, “No reason to be apprehensive, everybody has to have a first boring cocktail party, the fun party is what happens after.” Seth paused to take a sip of his fruity drink, gagging at the taste and wondering why he ordered it considering he never liked it, “You’re wearing naval attire, I assume you’re just out of the academy?” Seth noted, nodding to the boys every word eagerly, as suddenly his nose went elsewhere, a foul stench that could only be made by one individual associated with this caucus, a heinous slug that made Seth’s blood boil, he clenched his champagne glass tighter near snapping off the top as he spotted Greeble the Hutt Greeble the Hutt from across the room embarrassing himself in front of the distinguished senators of the host world (Jasol Dorsian) and Axum ( Carolina Tevinter Carolina Tevinter ).

Ugh, how do they let corrupt creatures like Greeble the Hutt Greeble the Hutt into the Centrist (Federalist) party, from what I’ve gathered the hedonistic worm doesn’t even perform any of his own senatorial duties and just bosses his aide’s around with no rhyme or reason, people like that give politics a bad name.” Seth whispered to Constantine Oliva Constantine Oliva , as to not offend any unfortunate senators in the troglodytes pocketbook.

Jasol watched as Greeble made his way towards him and Tevinter and spoke. "Yes, we haven't met yet." he said with a clear look of disgust on his face as he watched Greeble stuff down food and leave a slime trail wherever he went. "I'm sure we'll be able to learn more about each other and our policies in the meeting room. Speaking of which you're quite right Senator Tevinter. I believe it's due time we move to the conference room." he said before walking to a podium in the functionary hall. He let out a sigh of relief as Greeble's stench became less and less strong as he walked away from the two.

"May I please have your attention." Jasol spoke into the microphone. Once everyone had turned to look he spoke. "My fellow senators, advidsors, aides and military officers, I welcome you all to Sanjin for the Centrist Caucus. I hope you have all already spent adequate time enjoying yourselves as we shall now be moving on to the main reason we are here tonight, to discuss how we shall move forward as a political faction. While our numbers are growing we are still a minority and in order to move forward and push our ideals into the senate we need to unify our movement, centralise the centrists if you will. We must start setting clear guidelines, recruit others to our faction, organise into a political party and if we are able to accomplish what we set out to do today I believe that the outnumbered Centrists shall be at the centre of pushing legislation and senate votes." He said before letting his words settle on the others in the functionary hall. "I invite Senators and planetary representatives to the meeting room to formally begin the Caucus. Thank you."

Jasol stepped down from the podium and his aide approached him, handing him a Corellian brandy. "Thank you
Lieutenant Aru. Make sure those that do not join us inside remain entertained. Those that wish to explore the city organise speeders to the Resort Sector, Renek Sector, Coporate Sector and Defence Sector." Aru nodded and walked off to the gathering congregation of advisors and aides who have not joined the others in the conference room. He downed the rest of the brandy before setting the glass on a server droid's tray and walked into the room. After they had all settled down within their chairs in the meeting room Jasol stood up once more. "Now, time to get down to business. Senator Tevinter, our organiser has volunteered to facilitate the meeting." he said before nodding to Carolina Tevinter Carolina Tevinter .

And there he was.

With an almost arrogant sense of calmness, Senator Ce-Pas-Ton approached the entrance of the building where the centrist caucus was supposed to take place. His two aides were already there by the entrance, apparently arguing with a guard. "Entertaining yourselves?" he asked upon reaching a comfortable talking distance upon which one turned to inform him that all delegates had arrived. Letting out an amused chuckle, the Senator threw a glance at the guard who was probably right. While he had received the invitation, Ce-Pas-Ton had not decided to attend until the very last hour.

"Have a look through my inbox. The invitation should be in there somewhere." he said before walking over to the entrance, sending the guard a pleasant smile as his staff worked to produce the invitation. It would only be a few minutes before he was let in. Naturally, his aides had him stay for a few moments, filling him in on some last minute details and taking the chance to dump a few folders on him.

With that, the trio entered the functionary room, just as the host, Jasol Dorsian invited the Senators and planetary representatives into the meeting room. "That's convenient" he said, looking to his staff before letting his gaze sweep over the room. A few faces were familiar to him - he had seen them in the senate. It would hardly surprise him, however, if he was less known to the others, seeing as he had kept a low profile thus far, instead focusing on familiarizing himself with the different actors he was going to contend with for the time to come.

Bringing a cup of coffee, the Senator from Tython ventured on into the conference room alone and tried to find the host for a handshake and a brief introduction "Senator Ce-Pas-Ton, of Tython" before taking a seat by the windows near the door. Leaning back in the chair, he crossed his legs and opened one of the folders, quickly giving the material a brief study whilst the room was still being filled.

Fraternizing with the enemy was what many would think this was turning into. She ran the populists without realizing what they had to offer, but after attending sessions within the Senate and seeing how their colleagues were more in line with the corporatists than the centrists were and Tea would find no allies within their own camp. But after some conversation with Senator Tevinter, Taega saw the opening they knew they needed to actually make things better for Balosar and the galaxy. Which meant they would be meeting with some Senators that they themselves have criticized in the past and now meeting with them face to face, it was bound to be awkward but this was the best time and place to build bridges with.

Taega flow onto the landing pad of the Governors Palace on their private yacht where they were expected to attend the conference. Once they entered the room, they could feel the cold stares eyeing Taega as the doors opened. A populist? In a private meeting with centrists? What has the galaxy come to? They chose not to speak and show that they were to compete for the same goals. "Senator Vrav'lan of Balosar. I'm sure many of you know me."

Carolina Tevinter moved to the conference room, and stood at the front of the table.

Carolina turned, and pointed an open hand to the Jasol Dorsian, “Let’s begin by once again thanking Governor-Admiral Dorsian, for being a gracious host and for providing the accomodations for this meeting.” She nodded to him, before once again turning to the political figures assembled.

“Right, it’s a pleasure to see so many colleagues outside that Convocation Chamber. I thought we’d talk about what we want– or rather what our people will need.” She said with a quiet chuckle.

“I want to start by getting a sense of where your minds are, as far as I understand you all—and you can reject this—,” Carolina paused for the briefest moment, glancing at Taega,”—agree that we need a government that represents the interests of the whole, and to reiterate, I’m talking about regular people,” she said raising her hands to gesture as she started talking more and more.

“But enough grandstanding, here’s the agenda we have agreed for the meeting. We will, firstly, start with introductions and share either what we’re worried about, and what we hope to accomplish through our solidarity. Secondly, after we’ve made the rounds of introduction, we will have an open conversation, and we’ll discuss what we share in common. Hopefully, during the introductions we will discover we have much in common.” She picked up a glance of water, and took a sip.

“I will facilitate and keep track of time. Let’s keep introductions to two-minutes and once we’ve made it through introductions we can loosen things up. We’ll open the conversation up, and if people have clarifying questions, just shoot, or if you want to elaborate go on ahead, just get my attention and I'll put you on the stack, we’ll want to get a good sample of the perspectives we have here in this room.”

“That said, I’ll go through my introduction. My name is Carolina Tevinter, she/her pronouns, and I’m worried about the financial straits the Galactic Alliance finds itself in. I don’t feel comfortable how depend our government is on the InterGalactic Banking Clan. I would like to see the Galactic Alliance address the basic needs of the people, and of course, minimize corporate power.”
She turned to her right, and extended an hand. “All yours,” she said before taking her seat.

Jasol stood up, it seemed fitting he went next as he was hosting the Caucus after all. "I'm sure you all know my name by now but for those who have not I'm Governor Admiral Jasol Dorsian, ruler of Sanjin. My primary concern is the military of the Galactic Alliance and of the planets within the Alliance." he said, allowing the others to acknowledge him.

"We stand within the Galactic Core, the crown of our galaxy and to either side we face hostilities. The Corporate Authorities territory forever acts as a breeding ground for crime and corruption and the CIS challenge our control of the Core. Further away lay the Brynadul and Sith Empire both bent on the galactic domination. We must begin taking military solutions to these threats directly and that means building up our own, whether it be Alliance Navy or Planetary Defense Force. I have personally began drafting solutions to these threats which I will introduce once others are given the chance to introduce themselves."

Jasol sat back down, allowing the next Senator to speak. He shifted on his datapad, scrolling through the various solutions he would later give. Jasol was a staunch military man and believed a strong military allowed for a strong government, a rhetoric he hoped his fellow centrists agreed with. To Jasol, once a government had that power then it could not only secure itself but to begin striking at potential threats such as the Brynadul and Sith who have for far too long gone under the radar of Alliance officials.

Greeble noticed a convenient seat at the back of the table, large enough to accommodate their bulbous figure. Greeble didn't want to play the role of convenient, so they slithered up to the right side of the table to be positioned next to Jasol, their heavy body knocking over the empty seats in their way. Staff darted forward to remove the downed chairs and allow room for the Hutt.

"I am Greeble the Hutt, they/them pronouns. I assure you, I am not the only toxic thing you'll find on my home planet of Vulpter," Greeble said with a grin. "I am talking about corporate greed. I have seen many diverse peoples, planets, and cultures throughout my travels across the galaxy. There is no place that does not exude the unmistakable stench of corporate greed. Its toxic tendrils pollute the lives of the people meant to be under the protection of our governments, and at times they seem unstoppable; however, I am not afraid to stir things in order to allow better lives for the people. There is no other way. We must put aside petty comforts to fulfill our responsibilities as leaders."

With the announcement blaring to meet politely asking all the delegates to make their way to the meeting room Seth gave a nod to the young man and joined the steadily streaming crowd, among it placing his half finished drink on the tray of a service droid, he wanted to make a good impression and that involved not appearing as a drunk to the rest of the Federalist caucus. Many people from a vast array of worlds gathered with many species across, Seth sat down carefully next to a familiar face, not one of whom he’d formally met, they remember the former Senator of Azbrian getting acquainted with them slightly before his departure, as well as hearing of their remarkable victory for the seat of Balosar on holonet.

The representatives of the caucus went about introducing themselves with Seth listening intently, eager to be among many politicians he looked up to as it came to his turn he stood up proudly to introduce himself, “My name is Seth Azbrian, the newly elected Senator of Azbrian replacing former senator and friend to many in this very caucus Leaho Escarno, my mission to all of you as well as myself and my world is to end galactic corporate corruption and greed as well as use my post as a politician to aid our brave soldiers defend our lands from all external threats, I come before you as an equal in the name of security and honesty with a hope that this meeting can and will make the galaxy a better place.”

The Balmorran delegation continued to converse freely as a unit rather similar to the other planetary delegations. Adhira had the privilege of presiding over a delegation that was entirely comprised of Federalists. In addition to their Governor and two dominant planetary parties, the four representatives of Balmorra's moons had also been chosen from a federalist ideology. This had made setting and guiding policy on her planet quite easy since she assumed office. She noted that at the moment her delegation's members were mostly chittering excitedly about the rising prominence of federalist politics in the Senate. Adhira meanwhile mostly remained quiet other than the occasional halfhearted agreement.

When it was finally time for the assembled legislators to proceed into the conference room, Adhira turned and acknowledged the words of their would-be host with a withering gaze. The Senator of the Azure system had not long been a member of the Senate, but Adhira was familiar with her from her infrequent, but relatively helpful speeches during session. She shared a brief look with the other members of the Balmorran Delegation before turning and gliding off in the direction of the other Senators, smiling politely at the others who were joining her.

Inside the conference room, she stood aside for a moment while others took their seats, and when most of the others had been taken she stepped up to the end of the table opposite Carolina and placed a jeweled hand on the high back of the chair. With a sweep of her sapphire robes, the elder legislator lowered herself into the chair and crossed her hands on the table in front of her, observing quietly as others went about introducing themselves. She knew the names of most of those present and doubted that she needed much of an introduction herself, but when the time came she smirked and stood.

"Ahem," she started by clearing her throat, "first, let me start by thanking our gracious hosts for allowing those members of the federalistic ideology to come together in this rare moment of solidarity. I hope it will not be our last... My name, as I am sure many of you already know, is Adhira Chandra and I represent the planet of Balmorra."

"I feel, as I am certain we all do, that a strong central government is key to a stable and secure galactic government. Now, more than ever, we need to empower our Chancellor and our federal bodies to act to unify the Core and strengthen our Alliance against the threat of outside forces. Through the adoption of the Credit as a common currency, the strengthening of our Defense Forces, and the funding of our infrastructural endeavors I believe that we can ensure that our precious Alliance will be able to liberate the galaxy and ensure a lasting peace far beyond our borders."

Adhira nodded to the others and resumed her seat, eager to hear the thoughts of others.

Taega took note of the stare that Carolina gave Taega, she was aware of the ideological incompatibilities Taega had with the other senators here. Whereas they were more concerned with reform, it wasn't enough for them and they were bound to be the black sheep of this congregation. Once Carolina offered the floor. They sat down listening to the Governor Admiral say his piece. Having someone like him on their side would help with their movement. Senator Greeble and Senator Saaliche wanting nothing more than to keep the power of the corporatists in check and not bringing us down with them and then Senator Adhria. A centrist at heart and something Taega would a sarlacc who who wished to consolidate the assembly to do her bidding but was willing to work with her for now.

"My name is Taega Vrav'lan, Populist Senator of Balosar and my preferred pronouns are they/them. However I will not be offended if referred to as she/her. I joined the Populist movement to resist the Centrists believing them to be core proponents of Core politics, offshoring labor to planets that become industrial sites that pollute their atmospheres making them nearly uninhabitable. That being said while I am joining you here to end galactic corruption that plagues the Alliance which will weaken us I would look further to improve the living standards of the inhabitants of the Alliance. I would look forward to committing my efforts to Alliance infrastructure, promoting the rights for all sentients on all Alliance member worlds, and the endorsing our industry labor unions to fight for better working conditions for sentient workers of the Alliance."

Waiting, the Cerean listened to the other Senators as they spoke of themselves and their desires. Fighting the corrupting influence of the large corporations seemed to be a leading theme among their gathering. While the way through which it should be done was still unclear, it was still an admirable goal and between willing minds, a path could often be found.

He nodded to the Senator of Balosar and spoke before even having fully risen from his seat "Ce-Pas-Ton, Senator of Tython" His voice was clearly audible in the confined chambers they were in. Despite having tried to stay careful, an intrusive pain was spreading through his back. Apparently, he had risen just a bit too fast. With furrowing eyebrows, Ce-Pas-Ton let out a short sigh, just barely managing to disguise his pain. It was a lesson well learned, slower and with a bit more control next time.

"We need to curb corruption. We do. And it is important that we strengthen our common defence force and care for our veterans," he continued, first letting his gaze sweep across the room before honing in on the Senator Chandra and Senator Saaliche - both of whom had brought up the diverging points he mentioned. This was the easy part, what he was about to push for next was traditionally harder but if any group would show sympathy towards his views, this was one of the best ones. "But in order to secure our long term stability, safety and sovereignty, we cannot keep living on borrowed funds. This Alliance is ultimately only as strong as its members wants it to be. And that should be reflected in the contributions they make to its budget. In the best of worlds, a surplus goal would be in order and if that is not achievable, we should at the very least have a repayment scheme for when we run a deficit and have to take a loan." With that said, he slowly sat back down again.

Constantine noted as Seth Saaliche Seth Saaliche gagged at the taste of his drink. The man's comforting words helped, and Constantine hurriedly answered his next question. "I've been out for a few months, but yes." The young man was forced to gag himself as he smelled the hutt, but he hid it well. He nodded at the horned senator's whispered comment, but said nothing in response.

As the meeting started and his new acquaintance left him, Constantine slowly moved into the meeting room with the other senators. He took a seat next to a Cerean Senator, Ce-Pas-Ton Ce-Pas-Ton . For several minutes Constantine remained silent, wasting and listening to the discourse. Greeble the Hutt Greeble the Hutt proved surprisingly insightful considering what he'd been told, and Jasol Dorsian immediately voiced his support for a stronger military. That was unsurprising, considering he was an admiral, but Constantine agreed. The other members of the meeting all gave their own proposals for the official Federalist platform, but then Ce-Pas-Ton made an important note about fighting corruption and being reliant upon borrowed funds. This was Constantine's moment to act.

"I am Constantine Oliva," Constantine paused for a moment, remembering all the others had stated their home worlds and their position as senators. He was not a senator yet, so he was unsure of what to say. For the moment, he decided on no title. "Senator Ce-Pas-Ton makes a good point. The Alliance government currently has no way of securing permanent funds. Perhaps if it were able to directly impose taxes, it would be able to fund itself. Of course, I do not mean imperial-level taxation. However, this would fight both corporate corruption as they would be taxable and it would help stabilize the government. Furthermore, if we truly wish to centralize, we should not rely on an outside force, like the Jedi for military or investigative aid. The Alliance must be able to stand on its own."
