THE EBON HAWK
Captain's Seat, Cockpit

INTERACTING WITH: N/A

Beyond the windows of the Ebon Hawk was infinity. A vast galaxy filled with planets, living forms and the unknown. So much yet to be explored and discovered that your entire life would fly away in mere seconds if you started thinking about such things deeply.

The legendary Ebon Hawk was now in the hands of Ar'ekk, it had been a year ever since it was recovered from the grasp of The Exchange in Nar Shaddaa. Possibly decades passed before the freighter that played a key part in Darth Revan and the Exile's story a milennia ago, the very same seat where they both sat to go about their adventures. A sudden realization came to the young Knight's mind: He hadn't really explored the ship at all.

Hidden compartments were yet to be inspected by him even after a year, perhaps many documents continued to be unearthed. The map to the Starforge or check the holomap for Darth Malak's Leviathan.

Moving forward to toy around with the navigational computer, the Knight made sure to check the old databanks that hopefully would show him the last places the Ebon Hawk had travelled to before being "put to rest" inside a rusty docking bay in the Jekk'Jekk Tarr.

"The Leviathan was destroyed when Revan targeted the vessel with the Starforge. But knowing him well enough, he'd take a souvenir from the lifeless body of Malak. Where did Revan go after?"

The screen showed the last two locations Revan visited prior to its disappearance or obvious death, he couldn't be alive a thousand years later. Tython and the Foundry, a space station created by the Rakata in the Mid Rim Territories.

"I doubt that the Foundry is still operating, let alone find anything valuable there but it's worth the try. Otherwise... Tython. He went there to speak with the Jedi Order, maybe. They resided there back then, all of them. The council."

Setting up the coordinates for the Foundry, the Ebon Hawk prepared for the jump to lightspeed. This was going to be a long journey to recover a piece of ancient history, from the Old Republic. It deserved to rest here, aboard the Ebon Hawk... where it all started.

When the vessel came out of lightspeed, the discovery was as expected. A barren planet that has been abandoned for thousands of years with no life forms being detected at all by the scanners of the Ebon Hawk. However, some of the structures remained intact yet looked unstable although this didn't phase Ar'ekk at all.

Landing was key to unveil the truth behind this magnificent space station, The Empire was victorious during the so called "Battle of The Foundry" during the Galactic War in 3642 BBY and handed over The Foundry over to the Schism Collective that was constituted mostly by brilliant Anomid technological savants and led by Arkis Wode who rebuilt HK-47 from its remains.

The Ebon Hawk landed in what seemed to be a still perfectly preserved landing bay that was located near one of the entrances to the Foundry. Everything feel eery because it was lonely, cold and in utter silence. Not a single thing moved or could be heard except the metallic structures cranking due to old age. Who knew how unstable was this space station after all these years? Maybe it could break apart any time, which is why Ar'ekk planned to make this expedition as short as possible.

Lowering the ramp to make his way outside, the Knight brought along only his crossguard lightsaber and a light backpack to recover Darth Malak's long-forgotten lightsaber, in case he found it.

[member="Jyn Lorr"] and [member="Atefeh Lorr"] stayed together at Aurum, only the first was made aware of the journey that he would take to retrieve this important piece of history. Communication was cut off the moment he stepped foot on the landing bay but she knew the locations that Ar'ekk would be at, should anything happen to him.

A big metallic door separated the Knight from entering the Foundry, apparently jammed slightly due to its rustiness. Pulling away the metal with a bit of strength, the man would have gained access to the interior of this magnificent space station. This was nothing like he had ever witnessed before.

"According to the data, the Foundry has twelve levels. The middle one being the most important one, perhaps Revan hid something there away from everyone's sight during the battle."

At this rate, Ar'ekk's loud thinking would eventually become a recorded piece of data to listen and review once he was back on the ship. Kicking his legs in motion, the man ventured deeper into the building to find a way up. The elevators were broken and only a bit of light was shun inside, the rest was pitch black. Using the flash light attached to his backpack he lightened the way and allowing him to see when a ladder big enough to get to where he needed was still intact.

"A manual way of getting up in the western side of the station, the ladder. Big one, hopefully I don't fall."

With that being said, the ascent started right away. Looking downwards was a big no-no unless you wanted to get scared and hate that you had come here for an item that probably wouldn't be there. Maybe it was... the attempt was to unveil that was too good to let it pass.

The way upstairs wasn't a lengthy one but sure it did pump some adrenaline to Ar'ekk's body, most of the structure holding the ladder together cracked as each step was taken. Luckily for him, looking down wasn't something to worry about because you couldn't actually see anything at all. Once he had reached the top and dusted off his clothes, the hunt for the main room began.

According to the plans, one of these doors lead to Revan's command post where he slept and planned the attacks against the Republic during the Battle of the Forge. Shining the light towards one of the big metallic doors, he could see a bunch of abandoned computers and large cases inside each room. There was no way this place still had any energy left but these massive containers could have what he was looking for.

"I'm entering vault ninety-two. There are three cases here with enough space to hold several weapons, ammunition or other items. I'm not sure if I'm going to find anything valuable here but it's worth looking."

He opened each case to only find nothing but mere dust and useless cargo. Mostly datapads with outdated information that went back four thousand years or more.

"Nothing, as expected. I think my stay here is over, whatever happened during the Battle of the Forge didn't really bring any interesting clues. Next stop should be Tython and the old Jedi Temple. Last I heard, there was a dark side Nexus over there but it's been long gone according to the archives in Aurum."

Ar'ekk made his way back to The Ebon Hawk without many difficulties, sitting in the captain's seat and turning the engines on and mark his next destination. As soon as the legendary vessel hovered over the landing bay, this one completely fell apart per act of coincidence. The entrance to the Forge also did destroyed itself inversely, sealing off the only way in. Interesting.

With the flick of a few buttons and preparing the hyperdrive, the Knight made the jump to lightspeed as he headed for Tython.

The trip would take him a few hours before he actually got there so he went to the crew quarters to sleep while the ship was left in autopilot. His only astromech would alert him when they've gotten there, as soon as his eyes opened they would.

"Beep-boop! Beep beep!"

RB-78 came to Ar'ekk's quarters to wake him up and alert that they had arrived to their destination, the legendary freighter already making its way towards one of the nearest and safest landing locations in the outskirts of the Jedi Temple. This wasn't a stranger's world anymore given that the Je'daii Order had increased its presence around this planet.

"Look at that, RB-78. Home to the ancient Jedi Order a thousand years ago, where Satele Shan and many other Jedi resided and taught their ways to its members. This is amazing."

His amazament couldn't be contained as a big dorky smile was broadened upon his face, something tugged him towards the Jedi Temple. It was the Force that could be calling him, he was sure that something was to be found here. Ar'ekk always trusted his instincts but the Force even further, the very one that saved his life countless of times.

"Open the metallic doors and close them right away when I get out. If there's trouble, I'll signal you to come right away. The weather is rainy and cloudy but you should have a good visibility, I'm heading west."

He had to change clothes to much more protective gearments to withstand the heavy rain pouring down on his head as he stepped out through the ramp outside. Fog came down on him and clouded his path towards the temple, the little datapad he brought along was the key to finding this place. It beeped every time he came closer to the destination desired, so all he had to do was to walk straight until the beeping became louder.

"I can't see nothing ahead of my path but I should be fine. The Je'daii have been working here and throughout Tython with a high presence but I don't expect to see anyone today. The Ebon Hawk sensed no life forms in this area."

The native wildlife of Tython roared with magnificency, countless of animals and birds going about their business and letting it be known to anyone to presence this. Its forests were full of life, like no one had abandoned this place for a thousand years. It felt like home. The Force was strong with Tython, it had always been. It's why they chose to settle down here and make the foundation of the Jedi Order.

His clothes were dampened as the time progressed, an hour long walk in a straight line would take its toll on anyone. Sitting by a small rock at the side of the road would give him a few minutes of well deserved rest, little knowing that once he looked up after drinking some water from his bottle that the very same Jedi Temple was standing in front of him. Magnificent structure, full of history. Legends walked here. And now... he's retracing their steps.

Revan's.

"Woah."

Amazing.

To be a prime witness of such magnificent structure that continues to hold so much story and meaning for the Jedi Order is something he was grateful to have in his life. This was once a sprawling and living planet, full of people who shared once the same ideals that Ar'ekk defended for many years. Sure, his way of living and believing in things had changed drastically over the last few years but he continued to be a Jedi Knight one way or the other.

Looking closer, he could tell that the entrance was almost blocked off by large chunks of rock that had fallen from the crumbling and almost destroyed temple. It had been a couple of thousand years, not a big deal, but lifting those rocks would be an easy task if he concentrated enough.

By channeling the Force and closing his eyes to attune himself with it, Ar'ekk's hand moved forward and could feel a vibration at the end of his fingertips. The gigantic rocks that once were blocking the entrance to the temple were now levitating in the air per act of "magic", if one where to be a witness of such action it would leave a mark that would be imprinted in one's mind forever. However, no life forms could be felt in the vicinity or within the temple at all. This place had been abandoned for years except for the Je'daii's presence the last few months or so to rebuild their temples.

Moving the rocks aside to use them later to seal off the entrance after he was done scavenging, the Knight slowly walked up the stairs and came across the main hall of the Jedi Temple.

"And to think many Jedi walked back and forth through this very same hall gives me the shivers. Revan, Satele Shan, the High Council."

There were too many rooms to go through but it only made sense to find the Jedi Council chambers, this was the place where Lord Revan spoke to the many Jedi and explained to them what had occured throughout the Galactic War a milennia ago. A spiraled stair in front of him, which most of it was broken and crumbling to pieces, seemed like a good path to take and begin his hunt for the precious lightsaber that once belonged to the Dark Lord of the Sith and fallen Jedi Malak.

"I don't have the schematics to this place but I'll trust my instinct. It won't be an easy search, this place is falling down due to its age. It is my duty to be careful, quick and make sure to preserve history by not tampering with it. It's a sacred place for me and for the Jedi Order."

Cold.

And to think that many great Jedi Masters, Knights and Padawans roamed freely around these very same rooms, stairs and walls. Nothing to worry about just yet, thinking what trial to tackle next or what the council's next meeting would be about. Fast forward a thousand years or so, there's nothing but a structure falling to pieces and not a soul inside this place besides the one thinking outloud.

Taking some cautious steps around the temple, the Knight's eyes wandered aimlessly throughout the place. Several rooms comprised of different uses were open for anyone to enter freely, besides the obvious ones that were blocked off by rocks. The key room to find out about and investigate was the Jedi Council's. According to the ancient tales, Revan spoke to the council about what was happening during the Galactic War yet the specific details of that conversation remain undisclosed to this date.

"If Revan came here time after defeating Darth Malak, he could've given the lightsaber to a person of trust to keep. They'd put it in a big crate or a safe inside the temple, in a room where no one else has access to."

Reaching inside his backpack, Ar'ekk brought out a device that could scan for specific metallic objects or sources of interest that could spark up and alarm the user of something interesting hiding beneath walls or the alike. By pointing the device in any direction, the man began his search for the Jedi Council's chambers and hopefully a room full of wares where he'd be most likely able to find the so precious lightsaber he wanted.

A few minutes passed...

"Beep, beep, beep!"

It went crazy. In the second floor of the building, next to a massive broken down wall where one could see a big round table with chairs laying about. A chunk of rock and dust covered the table which was parted in two, broken from the falling debris of the ceiling.

"I think I've found the Jedi Council's chambers."

Carefully enough, Ar'ekk made his way inside the chambers and began his frantic search for a case or a similar object where one could put a valuable item such as a lightsaber inside to be kept safe from anyone.

"There's a strange sensation inside my heart, the Force's dragging me to what seems to be a small vault. I can see many objects, flags and some furniture. Probably the Jedi caretakers' vault where they kept all pieces of valuable history. The entrance is sealed so I will have to use my lightsaber. I'm sorry..."

Taking out his crossguard lightsaber and igniting it, the man took a few steps back. The cracked crystal made the plasma beam viciously while also making its distinctive sound, the air cooling off from the vents designed specifically for his lightsaber. Turning the blade inwards the vault's security mechanism, it began to melt down. Sparkles went off in all directions until it finally gave in, allowing him entrance to the vault.

Shining his ligthsaber inside to see in the pitch black darkness, Ar'ekk froze. A small chest put on a pedestal at the end of the room stood by two old candles. This had to be it... So he walked, and walked. It seemed like minutes, laying hands on the chest at last. His heart raced extremedely fast.

So he opened the chest and revealed its content...

"It's here, after all these years. I found it."

The temple began to feel even colder as the minutes progressed, as a presence was looming around the place without being actually there.

By placing the lightsaber inside the small case and tucking it inside his backpack, Ar'ekk made his way out of the vault and sealed it properly so no one else could have access again. Looting the relics of the ancient Jedi Order was something that should never happen and he made sure it stayed that way. The thought of getting anything else from the vault never crossed his mind and that made him proud of the man he became.

"Master Tugoro would be happy to be here, in Tython."

The entire structure began to crumble all of the sudden and in desperation, the Knight rushed outside before the debris fell on the only exit available and ended up killing them. Although the temple did not give in entirely, it was slightly damaged from the inside. That's what you would expect from a milennia old sacred place like this.

"Boop-beep-bap!"

It was RB-78 through the commlink asking if he was done with the expedition. Letting out a brief chuckle, Ar'ekk replied back to the astromech.

"Yes, RB. Bring the Hawk over, we'll be getting out of here now."

Yet as soon as he said that, the Ebon Hawk was already hovering above his head as he commanded. And to think that Revan once walked these very same roads... That gave him the shivers. The metallic ramp to the Ebon Hawk's interior lowered and he ran towards the cockpit, resting the case in a safe place underneath the main console.

Everything was ready.

"Today marks the day where we recover ancient history. Of Darth Malak, fallen Jedi and Dark Lord of the Sith. I never thought the day would come but it came. This shall be kept inside the Ebon Hawk, alongside the rest of the relics found on board."

Making their way to space and aligning themselves with one of the hyperlanes, the Ebon Hawk made the jump to lightspeed in an unknown direction...

History must be preserved, not destroyed.
