Illyria
The Pale Death of the Eldorai
Talisman of Uriel
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Having realised that cults are the way of the future, Sith Lord [member="Sumiko Tanaka"] and her Apprentice Illyria initiated a slightly-hostile takeover of the Covenant of Uriel. These poor wretches on Nar Shaadaa seek the solace of a higher power from the horrors of the Smuggler’s Moon. Unfortunately what they got was a Sith Lord pulling their strings in order to further her power.
To further her aims of controlling the cult, and also shaking down these unfortunates for their credits, Sumiko and Illyria devised a means which would make the wearer want to be controlled. Using experience from the Eldorai combined with Sith Alchemy, the pair devised an amulet which was slightly alchemical, but did not require all the time and power requirements of a full Sith Alchemy artefact.
By infusing the Dark Side into the molten silver, filling it with powers of control and domination they were able to produce a true masterpiece which they would never want to wear. Wearing the talisman, a cultist would begin to feel a deeply blissful sense of contentment. In reality this is the power of the Dark Side gently lulling them and dominating their mind. Thus, the wearer is much easier to direct with the Dark Side through mentalism or mind tricks.
The true genius is having worn it and felt the bliss, most wearers will resist and even fight to keep it on. The longer they wear it, the harder and less willingly they will be to remove it. Thus their spiral to the Dark Side’s thrall will be complete.
A strong willed individual, especially a Light Side knight or master would easily be able to detect and counter this item’s pull. Said Light adept would also be able to detect the Dark Side aura around the item. The talisman is not intended for them though, but rather for the mundane and already willing to fall for the trick.
Theoretically this could be used to make a captive more susceptible to Force persuasion, but a strong willed adversary would take a period of days to break down, and possibly other items or tricks to do so.
In summary this is a strange alchemical item in that it does not enhance the wearer at all, and the creator would never wish to wear it. However, it does have utility against those with a weak mind.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To create a cheap, slightly enchanted item for the Covenant of Uriel to identify themselves with. This item can be produced quickly because it imparts little real benefit to the wearer and does not go through the full process of Alchemy.

- Production: Limited
- Material: Slightly alchemised silver.
- More resistant than regular silver to wear and damage. It is twice as resistant to scratching or cutting, being more like durasteel than regular silver. Lightsabres will cut through it like it was not alchemical.
- Imparts a feeling of bliss and contentment to the wearer.
- (Secret) Wearer becomes more susceptible to the use of Force mentalism and mindtrick abilities. The stronger willed the wearer the lesser the drop, and of course a strong willed individual will not want to wear it.
- Resistant. Due to a slight imbuement of alchemy to the talisman, it is more resilient to wear than regular silver. However, it is NOT on par with a regular alchemical item.
- Bliss. Wearing the talisman makes the wearer feel contented and blissful. This can manifest itself in a decreasing of anxiety or a spirit of optimism felt by the wearer. This can take effect within only an hour of wearing it.
- Feebleminded. The talisman is secretly a trap. It makes the wearer feel more content…but also makes them much more susceptible to mind tricks or Dark Side mentalism powers.
- Aura. A faint but still noticeable aura clings to the talisman; the aura of the Dark Side. A Force adept skilled in mentalism would also be able to sense that the wearer is being affected.
- Precious. Having worn the talisman, it will become harder and hard to voluntarily remove it. This creates a feedback loop where the feeblemindedness accelerates but provides such bliss that the user thinks they do not want to remove it. Indeed, removing it can cause severe withdrawal symptoms for long term users like depression or panic attacks.
- Mundane. The talisman has the resistance of durasteel rather than silver, but it can still be easily destroyed by hammering, melting or cutting. Force Light will turn this talisman into a simple silver necklace.
- Unforced. Like all Force artefacts, having this talisman inside a Ysalimiri bubble will completely rob it of power.
