Name: Tal'kad Verde (Blood Blade Warriors)
Intent: To show Clan Rikat's elite unit of commandos at the disposal of the Mandalorian War Effort
Affiliation: Mandalorians
Availability: Unique
Type: Light Infantry/Commandos
Quality: C
Strength: 60
Description: Historically the Tal'kad Verde were a unit of Crusaders during the Mandalorian Wars, Great Galactic War and Galactic War that specalised in scouting, harsh environment fighting, commando raids and urban combat. While a small unit compared to main-line infantry they are highly adept at sowing chaos behind enemy lines to weaken the foe for the main Mandalorian force.
In modern times they are akin to a special forces unit which has become nothing more to them than a family trade. They are able to lie dormant within a territory surviving and thriving until the time to strike is signaled. They are also skilled at intelligence gathering and sensitive objective removal such as regimental HQs, comm-towers and upper echelons of enemy forces.
Wearing black armour and pelt-covered shoulder plates they take the fight to the enemy. Any time. Any place.
Location, Location, Location: On the frozen wastes of Hoth or the ice-covered crystal mazes of Ilum they remain warm. In the deep deserts of Tatooine or the cold Force-imbued valleys of Korriban they remain quenched. Deep in the jungles of Dxun or Felucia they don't just join the food chain. They dominate it. Terrain is an enemy like any other. No less dangerous than blaster fire. A concept the Tal'kad Verde take to heart. It's not enough to beat nature. You have to become part of it.
The Family Trade: Unlike the Mandalorian Protectors for example, the Tal'kad Verde are from a single clan that has trained together and fought countless engagements in unity. Pride in their heritage for warriors fuels their efforts as much as any source of inspiration.
Kote Bal Tal!: Glory and Blood has always been the motto of the warriors of Clan Rikat. More so when the clan reverted to their Crusader faith following the war with the Yuuzhan Vong. Their battles are religious offerings to the Destroyer God Kad Ha'rangir. As such they cannot be daunted by an enemy force. A thousand slave-warriors or a rival commando unit. They relish the chance to fight, and die, for glory.
For the Want of a Tank: Heavy armour and vehicles do little for a stealth profile. As such the Tal'kad Verde do not have heavy vehicles such as siege tanks or walkers. They may borrow armed landspeeders when terrain allows. However they do not have the numbers nor the desire to field massive metal boxes.
Out of Sight, Out of Mind: When seperated from the main battlegroup it can be easy to be overrun. With their small numbers and low profile the Tal'kad Verde can often avoid large, unwieldy formations of enemy troops. However such luck can run out. Without it they might find themselves outnumbered with little to no allied support.
