OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Unidentified blacksmith, commissioned by Starlin Rand
  • Affiliation: Starlin Rand
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Tal'Kar
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Low resistance to sorcery and alchemical weapons
  • Extreme resistance to telepathic attacks
STRENGTHS
  • If a Man Is Not Entitled to His Thoughts: Then there can be no freedom. The wearer's mind is their temple, and it will not be defiled so long as this bracelet remains on their wrist.
  • Magic-B-Gone: Though far less potent than its defense against telepathic attacks, the bracelet also provides a mild protection against sorcery and alchemical weapons.
  • Put Away Your Laser Sword: The metal Tal'Kar is extremely resistant to lightsabers, so it cannot be destroyed by one.
  • Elemental Nullifier: Sonic, corrosive substances, flame and cryo will not harm it outside of prolonged exposure.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Match For a Good Blaster: Tal'Kar is known for being highly vulnerable to blasters, causing it to corrode severely.
  • Ionized: The anti-telepathy defense can be temporarily disabled if the bracelet sustains more than one hit from ion weaponry.
  • Stabbing and Shooting: Armor-piercing rounds and vibroweapons can punch through the metal with ease.
DESCRIPTION
Tal'Kar is a very rare, very mysterious element created from Beskar'gam using uncertain methods. It's benefits are highly specific - wearing an item constructed from Tal'Kar will protect the mind from those who would seek to invade it, keeping one's thoughts and memories under lock and key. It also provides protections from sorcery and alchemical weaponry.

Given how often Starlin has faced down covens of evil Dark Side witches and other weirdos, it makes sense that, after stumbling across a small amount of this rare metal and learning of its special properties, he decided to have it made into a bracelet. There wasn't really enough of it to make anything cooler like a helmet or crown, so he settled for jewelry. Perhaps the only benefit of that is that it's small, unassuming, and less likely to take damage in a fight. Maybe it'll even protect his hand from getting lopped off at the wrist by a lightsaber.
