Unique Form of Beskar that is natural but low resistance to magic and alchemized weapons, and severe resistance to telepathic Force Attacks
Nearly indestructible to lightsaber attack, even if blade is held against metal for days or even months.
Highly resistant to flame, cryo, sonic weaponry, and acid
STRENGTHS
Arcane Block: Tal'Kar is a form of Beskar that has been subjected to a strange but purely scientific smithing process where blood is used on bes'kar ore before it is refined, that renders it naturally resistant to magic spells and alchemized weaponry, as well as heavily resistant to telepathic Force Attacks. The metal absorbs some of the damage from magical projectiles and can withstand two full on blows from alchemical weapons. Any piece of Tal'Kar equipped renders wearer nearly immune to mind attacks.
Only somewhat heavy: Tal'Kar is only half as heavy as pure Bes'Kar, making it much more practical in some cases.
Lightsaber Epic Fail: Tal'Kar is so heavily resistant to Lightsaber attacks the blade could be held against the metal for days before signs of melting would start to show.
Elemental Nullifier: The metal is highly resistant to military grade acid, heavily absorbant of sonic attacks and is highly resistant to temperature extremes
WEAKNESSES
Blasters: For some reason, the smelting process has made Tal'Kar highly vulnerable to blaster attacks. It is theorized that elements of the tibanna gas that are converted into energy may be a contributing factor, supported by how Tal'Kar corrodes severely when exposed to Tibanna Gas.
Piercing: A strong enough armor piercing round is good to punch through this stuff
Vibro: Another weakness. It can withstand only ten vibroweapon blows before failing
Rarity: This stuff is very hard to acquire. Very few smiths know how to work it. Even fewer will admit to it. Full suits of armor are nearly unheard of. Any weapon made of it that's bigger than a knife is equally so. Outsiders who are not Mandalorian must resort to tracking down such pieces in forgotten, out of the way places or be given such a piece by a Mandalorian they have earned the unquestionable respect of. It is also exceedingly difficult to work even for Veteran Smiths, who can laber for weeks or even months to create even a single armor piece like a helmet or a dagger
No alloys: Will never mix with any metal, not even beskar.
Ion: Ion removes its anti-telepathy protections for five minutes if it takes more than one hit.
DESCRIPTION
And behold, a most wicked sorcerer brought lamentations to the children of Mand'Alor, besetting them with fire and disease, and pest during the abominations of the Gulag Plague.
The Heirs of the Taung thirsted for the Sorcerer's head, and sent many of their champions, each legendary heroes who had never known defeat, only to be sent to greater woes as their bodies were returned, broken and defiled by the Wizard's profane magic.
The Taung's legacy, its sons and daughters, beseached the Oversoul for wisdom in this great challenge of the people, and the Oversoul answered by visiting divine madness on a humble Smith of the Taung Iron, and the Smith was granted a great revelation, joyously spilling their blood on the Old Taung Iron as it was subjected to the terrible workings of their Metallurgy, and with measures of Snow and of Ash, of Screams and of Corrosions. The Smith, in their divine madness wore a single helmet of the Iron of Blood and confounded the wizard, hacking the creature to pieces, and they passed their unnatural study to any Heir of the Taung who was wise and honorable.
--excerpt from an ancient tablet written in Mandalorian Commando Verse
Tal'Kar, The Blood Beskar is a unique alteration of standard beskar ore through a closely guarded secret known only to involve blood in some way. Though the process is purely scientific, this has some how made it amazingly useful against Force Adepts even more than standard beskar is, at the cost of being only mildly useful against conventional threats. It is rare to encounter them, and how it was formulated during the Gulag Era is actually a matter of conjecture, with only scattered legends such as the one above providing any idea at all of how or why it was made. All that is known though is that even fewer smiths know how to work the metal or create it among Mandalorians. Even those who do will rarely admit to it, as the secret methods of forging--while purely scientific ultimately--still cross a little too close to the occult for them to be comfortable making it truly, much less for another to wear it. Armor and weapons are distinguished by their ruby sheen, and outsiders must find relics in well hidden corners--or be trusted enough to be given it by a Mandalorian--to enjoy Blood Bes'Kar's benefits. Though highly useful against adepts, they often serve as ceremonial pieces renouned for their great beauty.
