Talking Points (Cerita)

[member="Cerita Sarova"]

The young empress sighed heavily as she read over the agreements she'd made with the representatives of the Galactic Alliance. She'd stated her intent to join their galaxy-spanning alliance in return for protection from other large threats - as well as the continued ability to operate in autonomy. Her attendant, Nadja, had just informed her of a palace break in that she'd almost been taken hostage for, although the Sith acolyte that had snuck in had been repelled by her father's men - an elite crew that were something like mercenaries but more like bodyguards for Lily. The brunette noble, in fact, was standing directly behind her with the same resigned expression that Lily knew she wore. "You've notified Miss Sarova that I would be meeting with her today, correct?" Lily asked, straightening out her notes without glancing up at the young Keto. Nadja nodded, letting her expression fade back to neutrality. "Yes, Cerita Sarova should be here in the next few minutes." Nadja replied, pushing herself off of the wall behind her to approach the table.

It was odd, their friendship. Lily's mother and father had killed the prior patriarch of the Keto family, and in turn took control of the planet while simultaneously knocking the Krath down a few pegs, so it had been a rather unsteady relationship the first few days - Nadja being the granddaughter of the Keto noble that had led the system as its ruler and at the seat of the Krath - but the mutual hate between Nadja and her own family had certainly helped their chances at friendship. Nadja took a seat beside Lily, drumming her index and ring finger on the tabletop while they waited for Miss Sarova to arrive.

"Haum, I'd have been far more comfortable with this, if you had taken Skairus with you."

"We both know that Scarra has just recently gotten a taste of his freedom, Dregl, I am not taking that away the one moment a situation gets a touch heated."

The Herglic sniffled in the air, before waving one if his flippers.

"You heard it as well as I did, miss Sarova. The Empress of Teta, an assassin or a bounty hunter in her palace, if she can't protect herself... how can you expect her to protect you."

Sarova snorted, while they strolled through the hallways of the Palace itself, turning corners here and there, while following the previously given directions of one of the staff members.

"I expect nothing of the sort. I can protect myself, thank you." That last sentence had a tone of finality to it and her Herglic assistant (slash Nanny sometimes) caught the hint. Instead he occupied himself with observing the various paintings lining the walls of the hallway they walked through.

Ahead, Cerita could see a fairly decorated door. It shimmered in the light... expensive, to be sure.

A heavy thunk sounded through the office [member="Lily Kuhn"] occupied, as a Herglic flipper knocked on it politely.

The sound of a large person or object knocking against the door brought both of the women's attention to the present. "Could you grab the door, Nadja?" Lily asked, leaning back slightly in her seat. A slight nod of her head and Nadja rose up and walked over to the door, opening it for the Herglic and Cerita. "Welcome to Cinnegar, Miss Sarova." Nadja said with a manufactured smile. Stepping away from the doorway, still holding the door for the two, Nadja made room for the arrivals to enter the meeting room, of which there was a large table with a holoprojector at the center and Lily at the center opposite the door. "Yes, welcome to Empress Teta. I trust you have been comfortable? Our transition from the reign for the One Sith to membership with the Alliance has been a new experience for the system, so I apologize for any relics of the Sith that might still linger on the world." Lily said with a more genuine smile, glad to finally be near the end of all this business with the people that belonged to or were important with the Alliance.

She didn't have any personal misgivings with the Alliance, of course, she simply wanted to shift her gears back to worrying about the issues in her system rather than worrying about how the galaxy at large was handling the shrinking Sith presence. Once the two had walked in Nadja made her way to the far end of the table to retrieve a small bucket of ice that held two bottles - one a plain bottle of water, the other a red wine. "Would you care for a glass of water? Wine?" Nadja asked, returning to the end of the table to bring with her four wine glasses, though not one the size for a Herglic. "From what I understand, Miss Sarova, you wanted to discuss and review the state of our capital planet. I can assure you that our system, and especially the planet of Teta, has gone relatively untouched since the invasion by the Mandalorians - aside from the minor issue with Titan Industries a few years ago." She said.

"Your grace," She'd have made a curtsy, but dresses hadn't ever been her favorite. So instead Ceri simply bowed lightly from her waist up and Dregl did the same... if a touch more careful. When Cerita got imbalanced, she might bruise a knee, when Dregl fell... everyone fell. After that was done she took a short look at the offered drinks, before shaking her head at the wine.

"Some water would be nice, thank you."

A plant had little need for alcohol, but water was always appreciated.

"Mmhm." She responded while tasting the water offered. Fresh, clear and energetic, right what was needed right now - the Herglic declined to drink entirely, which was probably for the best, considering his size and the size of the glasses. It would have been awkward and this meeting was already awkward enough, or so it seemed to Sarova, who was gently studying the both of the girls in front of her. Quite young, both of them, but wasn't that the way of the Galaxy these days? The old disappeared and the young had to take over.

Regardless of intent.

"Akure Executive Interstellar has been working with the Alliance to single out danger zones, places that have been immersed with the Darkside or have issues with Sithspawn, the raised death or other anomalies born from experiments or exposure to the Sith." Sarova took another sip, before continuing. "As Teta has always been a..."

She cast a look at Nadja, if her intelligence was correct, hah.

"liberal place when it comes to the Darkside." That was as diplomatic as she could get with a subject such as this one. "I felt it prudent to offer Akure's services to rebuild that which was lost and cleanse that which was corrupted."

The reputation of Akure was known to all. Part of it dark, when Rave had been in control, then the transition to neutrality under Ostanes and herself, if anyone knew how to move away from the Darkside... it was them.
