ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • The Tammar-class Corvette is very heavily armed, sporting armaments ranging from turbolasers to the assault variant of proton torpedo launchers.
  • The Tammar-class Corvette is rather fast, and is capable of accelerating to even greater lengths while the SLAM is active.
WEAKNESSES
  • The Tammar-class Corvette trades its potential hangar space for more armaments and the room necessary to house the SubLight Acceleration Motor. Simply put, there is no space for any small craft - support or otherwise - to be stored within the ship.
  • When utilizing the SLAM to accelerate and increase thrust, the ship's ability to maneuver is hindered proportionately to how much faster it is accelerating.
  • Due to being a limited production run created using the scrap obtained from the wreckage of ships in the aftermath of the blockade of Tammar the ship is largely a frankenstein monstrosity, repairs on the ship may require specialty parts that can only be sources from older clone wars-era star ships.
DESCRIPTION
During the Sith Empire's conquest of the planet of Tammar a short blockade was formed by the mining unions local to the planet, which was met with the Sith Imperial Armada's expeditionary fleet. The parts and pieces from the ships used in the blockade, those that were salvageable, were taken and utilized as parts for the design of a limited run line of corvettes as a reward for those who took part. The Tammar-class Corvette, an Assault classification by technicality, was given the classification and purpose of a Blockade Runner as a reference to the ships that stood in opposition to the Imperial Armada before their inevitable destruction. The ships were designed with the old, Clone Wars-era, ships that made up the blockade in mind.
Acclamator II-class cruisers were especially influential, and the idea to replace hangar space with greater armaments and better engine capacity was directly derived from them. The addition of the SubLight Acceleration Motor was decided upon after arriving at the decision to assign the corvettes the purpose of being used as blockade runners. The SLAM itself is an add-on to the Ion drives already present in the design which allow the ship to drastically increase its thrust, trading its maneuverability away while doing so.

In short, the Tammar-class Corvette is a very heavily armed blockade runner lacking in hangar space that is built to be fast with capabilities of accelerating further while losing maneuverability to do so.
