Tamoto ni Haru Kaze (Aika Kawakami)

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
The circle is complete, as the student becomes the master so does the master become the student. The jedi padawan was musing to herself as she stood there on the roof of the temple at Voss. Her energies flowing through her as she slowly tested the waters her body wrapping in telekinetic energy to float up in the air and for a brief moment she was hovering right there before touching the roof. Beads of sweat on her forehead and she let a breath out between her teeth before sitting down to catch her breath now with large gulps of air.

She was looking forward to stepping into the training room with Aika, she wanted to show her student that their relationship had went from master and student to friend to a student and mentor role. The talented jedi more confident she had now compared to what she had on Ilum, more controlled then the girl on Coruscant as she stood up. Her hands going into the glistaweb coat over the shell spider silk clothing/armor, her hat going to her head while her face was framed with her hair she looked easily smalled then most would guess from her size.

Heading down towards the training room and ship to lead the way as she smiled to herself wanting to see what she could do holding her saber on her hip and going through the hallways as she produced the cube from her pocket smirking to herself and standing there in the room for her. She held it up to the light as the jedi magics runes glowed with the force energy from her hand. "And that is what comes from the ancient jedi." She didn't say it to anyone there more to herself while putting it back into her pocket and awaiting the arrival of the one she wished to be her master.

Her steps were light, nearly silent as she approached the door to the training room. The Onderon born master could easily sense what lay beyond, even if it had been some time since they'd met. It her own master, well, former master as it now was. So think that galaxy would set such events in motion that would force Aika to come full circle and force her master to become her apprentice. It was both a moment of pride, and of uncertainty. Matsu had known so much, and taught her barely even half. Add to it, that Aika had become so different than the times they had spent together. The question wasn't whether they could still train together. The question was could such a thing last the second time around.

Hitting the door release on the wall, the doors slid open, gaze falling upon the figure of her once upon a time master. She caught her just as her hand slipped into her pocket. "Master Ike. It's been a while. Perhaps far too long, in my own eyes." Her lips curled into a soft grin, the door sliding shut behind her as she stepped into the room. "Forgive for prying, but I'm curious. What have you been up to lately? Digging up more lost artifacts, I suppose?"

Matsu looked up when she felt it, Aika was coming and her hand were free of their confines. Then the doors opened and Matsu looked upon the woman her student had become with a smile. Her movement wasn't even noticed until she was close and embracing Aika softly with that friendly level you gave warmth and love for. She knew Aika wasn't one for large displays of power but there was a power in friendship and Matsu had found her own friends were the ones who didn't always think she was a monster. "I am always looking for artifacts and have found one or two."

She pulled away touching a hand to Aika's cheek taking in all of her for a moment while nodding. "You have grown up so much Aika." She kept her smile on her face and let it reach her eyes in genuine good humor before standing there. "The real question is not how I am doing but how you have been doing, cooped up here all the time when you're free and can go see to the people. Learn and teach yourself anything you could ever want. What has changed to make you so secluded?"

A hug. An embrace to show another affection. It wasn't a feeling that Akia had felt often since departing her family as a teenager. But, it was to be expected. Matsu had always been loving with her in such a motherly way. Anything less than this would have caused the girl to wonder of her intent. Still, her arms made no movement to embrace the woman she'd known for so long, only watching her as she stepped back. Her eyes panned upward, looking about the large training room. It brought back memories of years past. Days spent behind the room's doors, meditating and calming her own mind, while other learned to best one another with weapons.

"Things change, Master Ike. Times.....change people. But, somehow, you have managed to remain the same. It is a wonder." Her words, her tone, the way she spoke. It all reflected the last few years of Aika's life. Leaving the Jedi, giving into the voice within her mind. Finally, it seemed the environment had twisted someone who once seemed so warm. Not a complete turn, but a twist so deep that not even her own master could recognize her. "Things change, my master. Even you taught me that. But that doesn't explain anything to me. You haven't forgotten how it feels to wield the Force. You haven't forgotten the power you once held. All you need is a guide. And I will guide you. I will teach you as you taught me. And, in turn, I will continue to learn from you."

Matsu gave a bow of her head and looked at Aika now more closely without moving closer of course but she took in all of her. That spirit was there but like many who came through the war it was different compared. The false peace the grand peace that failed to the point they were trying to protect the treaty over the actual people... but that was no matter she had seen many twisted, many broken by it. Some had fallen, some had become so lost they didn't know what to do and some had found purpose but not always as many had simply faded or left to the silver jedi.

"Things need to change, it is the way of the galaxy and I am glad to see that you have become something more. It is not a bad change from that girl who was so unsure of herself. The events that have transpired have hardened you, have made you perhaps colder but where others simple give into their base emotions you have grown to become stronger." She smiled again to that and gave a nod to the idea of becoming the student with Aika to guide her while still teaching the girl some of the mysteries of the force that she had learned. Even now with her connection slowly healing she had learned things others had forgotten.

"I will have to work twice as hard to make sure I can keep up but I do have some secrets no one has seen yet."

A slight curl of her lips gave way to a small grin as she turned to eye Matsu. It was odd, in a way. Seeing the woman who had played such a motherly role in life, and now knowing that the titles of master and apprentice were now being switched. She couldn't help but chuckle, a small nod in her direction. How does one guide the person who taught them everything they know? Was there even a way to actually pull something like that off? Of course there was, but the idea was foreign to her.

"Master Ika... There is something I have wondered for some time. Never once did you seem surprised at the rate at which my abilities expanded. Even when I began reading minds against my own will. That has me wondering.. Is, well, was precognition a skill you had that I was unaware of? Or, was it that you were secretly searching my own mind? I wonder.."

Matsu gave a small raising of her eyebrows to the question as she moved putting her arm around Aika's then walking to lead her down the way. "Oh there are many things that go into that. Did I know what you would become? No not really but there are many things you can see with the force. The past the future, old friends and loves long gone. I saw a possible one with you a strong and talented jedi master, same as I saw another of you a dangerous sith using your skills to bring the will of your emperor to bare. Anything is possible with the force and there are many mysteries that one finds. I have found several because of my in a way superior knowledge. A dangerous thing pride but when it has merit you enter into a time or... so many possibilities." There was an air of excitement at that, Matsu was many things but she was a jedi and the thought of knowledge new knowledge always held an interest for her it was why she explored the sections of the galaxy others avoided. "You never know Aika what you can find until you look inward."

Look inward. The fact that she said that was quite interesting. If Matsu could only see what was going on inside her mind at this point. If she could only see what was happening in her body. The fact that Aika herself had removed the mental barriers that had kept her mind separate form herself, and in essence, a good portion of her own power. Though it hadn't been done to gain anything. Not position. Not power. Not wealth. Nothing. As a matter of fact, she couldn't even remember when it happened exactly. One moment, she was her normal self. The next, everything was different. She was still herself, but she wasn't.

Her eyes simply lingered on the woman, mind revisiting memories of days past. "So, what do you see when you look inward? Other than a Jedi. What do you see when you close your eyes, and delve deep into your own subconscious... Exactly what do you believe is there?.."

Matsu looked at her and gave a small tight lipped smile as she spoke. She had looked inward to things and saw what was there but it wasn't easier with time. She bounced her head it a sort of yes and no quickness as she placed a hand on Aika. "I see all that I have done laid bare and while I mourn the ones who died I shed all my tears many years ago. Which I know is not what everyone likes that I can remain so very much." Matsu paused enough to clutch a glowing solari as the crystal shined gold and warm but unlike with darksiders it didn't burn, it didn't make her sick. She was a jedi in every fiber of her being. "A jedi. I am just glad I never lost your trust Aika, you are one of my deepest friends."

Her eyes averted any type of contact at that point. That one little word.. Trust. The two had been together for so long, gone through so much, and seen even more together. Anyone would easily be able to trust one that they had stood next to for so long. But that was then, and this was now. How could she possibly tell the person who had been like a second mother to her that she had done the one thing they both agreed should never be done? Was there even a way? Of course there wasn't. Aika was Aika. She was, and always had been different from the others. Matsu, on the other hand was one hundred percent Jedi, and the thought that she could understand was ludicrous.

"Come now, Master. You have trust for all of those around you, those who you choose to stand next to. I am only special because you hold me as such..Or, am I wrong?"

Fishing for answers... Hopefully she wouldn't pull herself into the deep end..

Matsu looked at Aika and she seemed so strange for a moment, or was it just a smudge. Matsu's vision in the force showed Aika in a different light but slowly it faded as she stayed there next to her. All she wanted to do was show her she was special. There had been a time at least when she woudl have done anything she wanted but Aika was a young woman now and Matsu just spoke holding her hands to cradle her face. "All jedi have my trust Aika, even the ones who hate me, they serve the light and I follow it..... but you Aika, you are different. Not like most others. I think of your like my third daughter, like a baby sister, someone I love and care for."

Matsu brought her face up as she hovered for a moment and kissed Aika's cheek staying there for a moment and whispering into her skin while she moved her hands to put them around her neck just embracing and putting as much warmth between them as she could. "I know it isn't much Aika but I do love you, not as Chora or Hanna but as the dearest friend a person can have." She closed her eyes and actually felt a fresh wave of tears in them. A strange sensation but this was all about the emotions and attachments while Matsu kissed her cheek sending as much warmth as she could into it. Matsu slowly pulled away and brought her forehead to touch Aika's.

She didn't try sifting through the mind just sent more thoughts of all they had done, all that had come from their friendship and this... This connection. Nothing else mattered just what she wanted to project to make it so Aika felt all the love and caring affection that could come from it. Finally she was back down on the ground and looking up at her former apprentice and now councilor. "Of all the students I have trained, of all the women I have cared for and of all those I have met. You have always had such promise and potential, you have a great future ahead of you. We'll start building it with a strong foundation. In a place where few would think to start.... Mayferria."
