Target Practice with a Big Gun. (Vitae and Rebels)

[member="Wan Min Brightsky"]

Solan sat back int he chair that rest in the office he had turned Silver Station int.. Well not the the whole station, for hi it was but an outpost that no one but him seemed to use and he was perfectly fine with that as he leaned back and looked up at the sky. He certainly could have some fun building this thing up, maybe he could contact Arcanix or the successor of that Wren lady he had heard about. Interesting things for an interesting time he thought as he sat there and looked over the schematics and then out an observation window. Outside the viewport was the visage of the Yorika class cruiser that the Vitae had acquired from his bringing the Shadow Fleet to the Vitae.

The purpose was simple, one asteroid field, one hypervelocity cannon ship, and a Rebel affiliate that was interested in seeing the designs and how such a weapon worked first hand and then perhaps develop a different form of the weapon. His eyes closed as his mind closed off and he began to see through the station like sonar, picking up on living thing after living thing while he waited for the Rebel member. The possibilities for endings in regards to this demonstration were numerous, what the outcome would be is an insteresting thought though. What would happen he mused.

Location: Silver Station
Purpose: Field Testing New Weapons for the Vitae and the Rebel Alliance

Wan Min smiled as her shuttle docked with Silver Station. She had been invited by Solan Charr and other members of the Vitae to come to the station a week prior for weapons and field testing of new ships. Specifics were not given on the vessel, other than that it would be something large and of great value to both the Vitae and the Rebel Alliance. Given their close working relationship that had developed over the previous months, and especially given their collective experiences during the Geonosis invasion, Min was happy to take a week or two off of fleet duties to come aid a close ally. She was also intrigued by the opportunity to work with Solan Char, someone who she had never gotten the chance to talk to in person but whose reputation preceded him.

Min hummed a particularly martial song as she disembarked her shuttle and walked towards the main office of the station.

She was never a fan of martial songs before, but Admiral Xue was a fan of them and had gotten her singing them in her spare time. The advantages of working with someone with decent taste in music, Min thought to herself. She smiled brightly as she reached the crescendo of the melody and approached the office. Min knocked twice and entered the office. She saw Solan sitting in a chair and admiring a particularly nice view of a star field. He swiveled the chair around and rose to greet her. Min extended her hand to formally introduce herself.

"Mister Charr, I'm Admiral Wan Min Brightsky of the Rebel Alliance. It's a pleasure to meet you!"

Solan Charr felt the woman's approach long before he saw her and with a glance over his shoulder he watcehd the doors open and with a smile he turned the chair and stood. 'Mister Charr, i'm Admiral Wan Min Brightsky of the Rebel Alliance. It's a pleasure to meet you!' He heard as the sounds leave the woman's mouth and smiled as he waved his hand in a half dismissive manner, responding with a bow. "No need for such formalities Miss Brightsky, if we were going to go into that i could be here all day, what with the shadow prince, king of kesh, yada yada." He turned and waved to a bottle and glasses kept on the side of the office. "I have Mandalorian, Alderaanian, and Echani wines to choose from if you want something to drink, if not i can get something brought here for you."

His movements turned as he hid his hands for a moment, he had used the napalm grenades at Geonosis and had mistaken himself able to control the flames caused by such like normal fire. The damage wasn't enough to destroy his hands, but it was still not something that he kept in the open for now and choosing to let them heal slowly and painfully so that he remembered his mistake clearly. Right now the scarred flesh was hidden in black gloves as he turned back to her with a smile. "I must say, beautiful as the records say, and with that said, no i wont be able to tell you who's records i mean." He was smiling, light hearted and his golden dark side corrupted eyes almost seemed to be natural in their color, rather than a perverted corruption that made one look cruel and heartless.

Min smiled warmly at his greeting and nodded politely. He was definitely just as the rumors had said: Good looking, a touch mysterious, and generally friendly. She inwardly feared that he might take her friendly nature for being disingenuous. She wanted to put on a good face for Solan and any other members of the Vitae who she would be working with since they had proven such good and reliable allies during the Geonosis invasion. She respected and liked the Vitae officers and crew whom she had the pleasure of working with. Min hoped that they knew what an honor it had been for both her and the rest of the Alliance officers to work with their counterparts in the Vitae.

"Well, honestly I wasn't expecting such a good selection of wines, especially out here. I'm a Coruscanti girl originally. Normally I'd take a glass of Alderaanian wine. But since we have work to do, would you mind having someone send up a cup of caff? Later on this evening though I will take you up on that Alderaanian wine!"

She smiled brightly as he complimented her. It had been quite a while since anyone had remarked on her appearance, which was one of the unfortunate downsides of being in command. She was usually cloaked in the impenetrable armor of an admiral's uniform, which still sat somewhat uncomfortably on her. After months in command of the Rebel Alliance fleet, she still felt more at home on the bridge of a salvage ship or in a classroom than on the bridge of a star destroyer.

"You flatter me too much Solan: Not only do you complement my looks, but you present me with the mystery of personnel records!" She said to him in a cheery tone of voice and gave a small laugh. She motioned for Solan to come over to the desk so they could sit and talk.

"So, Solan, not to interrupt the pleasantries but I was hoping to get a chance to look at these new ships that the Vitae have acquired before the field tests begin. As you know we've built our fleet up around salvaged and older, re-purposed ship designs like the Venator and the Acclimator. I'd love to see what you and the rest of the Vitae have built up here so we can see how it fits into our respective fleets."

He nodded as she spoke of caff instead of the wine and he nodded as he looked over to the wall. "Deception do have someone bring a cup of caff to here, our guest would like such." The Virtual Intelligence appeared for half a second as it bowed, taking on the shape of a well dressed and groomed man, though the smile was one of a tinge of malice behind its features. Solan didn't even look at the VI as it bowed and disappeared, instead choosing to speak about it. "One of my numerous payments, mosst people want to be paid in money, i prefer the company and support of Virtual Intelligences or when i can an Artificial one... Deception there is one of my many payments."

As for your records and the compliment, the latter is very much so necessary, after all i am not one of your airmen so i need not worry about someone accusing me of trying to rank up for simply speaking the truth. And your records... there is a reason i require VI, after all i can't keep track of all my allies and enemies at the same time with just myself. Like our previous benefactor." He smiled as he admitted to spying on numerous people including Genevieve herself... of course the Raven haired woman knew Solan did this but he was sure few others were away of his hidden eyes.

"Don't worry though, i only watch and protect, i would never dream of hurting a friend less i become no better than the very creatures we fight against. Which brings me to the accusation of our new weapons of war that i am more than happy to be presenting to you. I have a few ships stationed here, the rest stationed over Alcoz, Vergesso, Relovian and Veradune. The last planet is not one you will find on near all maps, so don't try. Those stationed here would be the Yorika, A Shinigami class star Destroyer from the Shadow Empire. And several others like those Hapan Battle Dragons i had also acquired from working in the Shadow Empire."

Min blanched as Solan recited the list of heavy vessels that he had access to at the moment.

"A Hapan Battle Dragon, I haven't seen one of those outside of a history text! And Shinigami Star Destroyers from the Shadow Empire? I know not to ask too many questions about where you got them from. I guess congratulations are in order!"

Min was taken aback at Solan's matter-of-fact explanation of his fleet assets. Even though he said that it was going to be nigh impossible to find the planet where the ships were located on a map, the curious explorer wanted to press for more information.

"Honestly I don't have much experience working with vessels such as those. Most of the ships I've had the chance to look at up close have been either salvaged from deep space, rebuilt from the bulkheads on up, or both. So, I think that I'd like to take a look at the weapons on the Hapan Battle Dragon first. I know that they have some strange modifications to the turbolaser batteries, not to mention the shield grid."

"I don't know if your files explain, Solan, but I have a Ph.D. in History, so I tend to go with what I know. Since the Hapan Battle Dragon's performance is well established in the history texts, it'll give me a nice basis from which to judge shipboard weapons on the Shinagami. After that I think that we can move onto some of the new heavy weapons and test those individually."

"Sound good?"

"I like the way that you think Wan Min... though perhaps we should truly test the strengths of the ships... my computers here are equipped with systems that can theoretically predict the outcome of certain actions in an engagement with teh correct damage that should happen. Of course there are always things that could go wrong with calculations in real life but i can assure you these systems should realistically predict the outcome with us commanding the ships. Consider it a mock battle that would give you a true look into the pwoer of the Hapan Battle Dragons that you so readily know about." He smiled, his hand running over a keyboard and bringing up a small holographic grid between them, "So, what say you?"

Min smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Sounds like a plan! Let's get your simulator running. One Hapan Battle Dragon versus one Shinagami Star Destroyer should be a good baseline from which to judge. Let's leave out the fighter components. Pure firepower and shield comparisons will allow us to have a starting point. After that, let's move onto your fancy new shipboard weapons."

"Perhaps, but there is quite a difference in it the two ships that i do believe two Hapan Battle Dragons would be a much more fair match against the Shinigami, no?" He was already thinking of ways to counter the battle dragons, it would be interesting to look at the ship's uses and the knew one major feature that would be more than a advantage in all other circumstances. First would be their targeting systems and whether she knew it or not without the Shinigami's fighters those targeting computers were an extreme danger to a single target.
