DESCRIPTION
First founded by a scion of the Wessex family and another of the Tarkin family as an entity to handle the specific medical transport services in which it specializes, a subsidiary of Tarkin Interstellar, the company provides reliable paramedic and ambulance services to various local, planetary and sector governments. The Automed system utilizes droids as both speeder pilots and paramedics, keeping costs down and efficiency high.

The company functions as a partner service to local hospitals, hospices and medical traumafacilities. The Automed system uses the company's own high speed med sprinters as well as the latest medical and trauma droids for casualty receipt, and stabilization enroute to a more permanent medical facility. This gives a patient the highest possible chance of being saved, with a speedy transition to a hospital, with the highest quality of care while being conveyed.

RATIONALE
Founded several decades ago by a younger son of House Tarkin of Eriadu, who held specialities in Medicine and Engineering, in partnership with his wife, a member of House Wessex, the company was built upon its own droid designs, speeders, and through that, unique and reliable services which it could provide. When it saw early success, the company was acquired by Tarkin Interstellar Transport, given access to substantial future funding, and allowed to expand. This also brought it under the web of companies owned by the megalithic Crige Corporation, and subject to its oversight. The company is today operated by Seth Tarkin, the new CEO with a background in medicine.
