BIOGRAPHY:
Tash Sarai knows nothing of her life before she woke up in a slave pen on Utapau. Her master was not a kind person, and enjoyed inflicting pain upon his chattel. Despite Tash's more obvious attributes, she was assigned to repair duties of the various droids and systems in her master's holdings. During this time, she grew so intimately familiar with various technological systems that she could almost feel them in her mind. Slowly, far slower than she wanted, she realized that the connection with these systems was an extension of something within her, and that her connection to them waxed and waned with her emotions. After weeks of trial and error, she was able to control her emotions to an extent, bringing them to bear at will.
It wasn't until the ship she and her master were on was attacked by pirates, however, that anything came of her practices. The pirates overwhelmed the systems, and confronted her master. Before he could negotiate his way out of the situation, with fear of never being able to get out from under her master's thumb and anger at the thought of continuing to serve him building up inside her, pushed by her mental discipline, Tash unleashed another extension of what she would come to learn was her power in the Force. She reached out and touched her master. First, the color drained from his face, and her recent scars healed. Then his eyes rolled up in his head and he slumped to the ground. Tash felt powerful, too powerful. The pain that holding that much energy caused was both exquisite and wrecking. She unleashed it in the way she knew best, and the systems of the ship lashed out in ionic surges, frying the pirates before her eyes. Exhilarated horror grew within her as she watched their lives extinguish, leaving her alone with two ships.
Her master's ship, though far more familiar to her, was failing. She knew she could repair it given time, but she didn't know how much time she had. They were in a major trade lane, and she didn't want to be found and forced into servitude again. Thus, she took the smaller and less familiar pirate vessel. She spent just enough time familiarizing herself with it to jump away, then got down to studying it more in depth, coming to love the systems as her own.
Through the past couple of years, Tash has familiarized herself with various Force philosophies. As would likely become obvious upon meeting her, she was no Jedi. The codes they adhered to seemed overly simplistic to a young woman who had endured what she had. Despite the bad press that Sith tend to get, the limited studies she was able to do from her holonet access showed her the basic tenets of their beliefs. It was her passion, her emotions, that had given her strength. That strength was used to overpower both her master and the pirates. That strength allowed her to literally and figuratively break her chains.
Now she has been set free.
