PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Taurin follows a strict moral code that he bends as he sees fit. One day he sees himself as a proprietor of justice and a force to be reckoned with, the next a washed-up vagabond too stubborn to die. Due to his constantly fluctuating self-worth, Taurin might be blatantly hypocritical, convincing someone to choose a safe option for themselves and to think of their future, before immediately taking on the bad option himself. For the most part, he is a good guy willing to do bad things
for good reasons.

Military Training, Quick-witted
WEAKNESSES

HISTORY
Once a proud soldier of the Alliance, Taurin is now a ghost of his former self after a war that has left him with almost nothing. All that training, lives saved, and bad guys beaten meant nothing after the sudden loss of his family. Upon what was supposed to be some brief time alone with them, Taurin returned to a half-destroyed town. No one could tell if his wife and nine-year-old son were amongst the dead, fled to a nearby town, or if they were taken. With some of the bodies simply ruined beyond recognition, Taurin could only hope that the ones found closest to his front door weren't his family. Unable to find concrete evidence of the fate of his loved ones, the soldier went on a spiral that progressed rapidly over the first year of their absence, which consisted of a steadily worsening attitude and increasingly questionable decisions in the line of duty.
It was a matter of time before Taurin's terrible coping mechanisms would catch up to him, but he managed to retain enough pride and dignity to not want them to completely tarnish his name. But he didn't know what to do with himself, and distanced himself from his comrades. He wanted to hear nothing about them combing the galaxy to weed out any remaining filth if it had nothing to do about his wife and son miraculously returning alive, or him personally being sent to find whoever took or killed them. He knew he wouldn't be able to refrain from being unreasonably bitter toward people he called his friends, who he had trusted with his life. But Taurin also knew they wouldn't approve of him taking up bounty hunting as a new hobby after resigning. At least this questionable decision would help people, and didn't revolve around making a fool of himself like half of them tended to.
Taurin took to continuing the galactic clean-up in his own way while losing faith that his family was out there somewhere, alive but somehow unable to find him. It took him a few years to mentally get back on his feet and kick his worst habits, but he could never drop smoking. After 10 years, Taurin finally conceded, pronouncing his wife and son dead in his mind. He continued to take on bounties to get by and to release some steam under the guise of cleaning up the streets, and looking out for those who can't look out for themselves. He likes to think he'll eventually find whoever ransacked his home in the process. Sometimes, he takes on bounties he knows are almost too difficult; suicide missions in the subconscious hope he'll reunite with his family.
